I love your long video format, please don’t feel obliged to give up on that or like you have to now stress to also produce short form videos on top of your longer videos. You’ve got a fast-growing baby - I think anyone would understand that sometimes videos just need to be a little irregular as you need and should be able to prioritise your child and own health. I’m always thrilled to see another update of your projects and your family and hear how you’re getting on. You’re doing brilliantly!
It's a general consensus from RU-vid viewers that we're a community who enjoy long-form content, which is why we're here. From what I've seen on a LOT of channels I follow (where they're nervous about the death of long-form content and feeling pressured to do TikTok) is a comment section where no one even uses TikTok. 🤣 I also fall in to that category and seeing the few comments you've garnered here already - they agree. (ps. I'm also obsessed with tiny houses, vans, motorhomes, etc. and reno content!! lol)
Not sure why you are investing in a motor home you have a home and if it's because of the renovation I would just move into either of your parents and leave it at that save some money. Being in such close quarters with a child and a dog I wouldn't do it. Or get a local air B&B or a rental if this is the case. Go for less videos rather than short ones as I usually skip them myself on most channels that do. If you are strapped for time 1 or 2 long videos a month would be enough for me if you are struggling. I have unsubscribed from channels that have gone for 5 minute videos tbh unless the format is daily videos which is difficult for most people to do.
laura please dont feel that you need to move to short form / trendy content. I am here to tell you that you are one of my fav creators and I look foward to long posts from you, even if its just normal life stuff.
We hired a very posh motorhome last year and we quickly learnt that it wasn’t quite as fun as it looked. For one, they are extremely noisy inside and our dog a large golden doodle was absolutely terrified and spent the entire journey clinging onto me for dear life. She hated every second of it. It’s noisy because of all the tableware and cutlery etc in the cupboards (even though we put tea towels between everything). It’s also a pain since you can’t park anywhere except proper motorhome parks, so if you’re planning on popping into town to get a takeaway for the night, good luck finding somewhere to stop for even a minute. Also it’s not pleasant having to empty the waste every day and it gets really heavy. You also need to keep the water levels topped up for showers etc. It runs out of water much faster than you think. Sleeping situation was very tight and we are both slim. It can also be noisy at night if there is even a slight bit of wind like if you’re by the coast. It can be quite disconcerting in the middle of the night when the van is buffeting a lot. But all in all, we did have a great time but my advice is to hire a van first and see how you get on before buying one ❤
I absolutely love that you’re a classy, and true to you, kind of content creator. It’s why I follow your channel. I don’t mind the occasional short-form video, but most of the time there’s no substance there. I love to listen to your thoughts and see what’s new with you and your family. You have such a way about you that’s comforting and classic. ❤
I think long form youtube content is just more sustainable from all sides. And the algorythm isnt under any of our control, but dont feel that you hage to justify a break in content to us. Your first child is so young and at least in my experience, it took almost 3 years for me to feel like myself again after my son.
For me your videos are always a great relaxing escape so I have to say it’s long form content for me but please do what ever you are comfortable with and also please do not feel guilty for experiencing life with your little one lots of love <3
Yep. Love the long format. I only watch IG for cute babies and puppy videos when I have to wait somewhere. I've never been interested in TicTok. RU-vid to me is like catching up with friends as well as learning a few things for my hobbies. Word of caution regarding your motor home plans. We tried living in a large caravan with a toddler when we were between houses and it was a nightmare trying to keep him in the bed and basically having to be dark and quiet or go to bed ourselves when he did. We didn't last too long! I enjoyed seeing the motor homes.
