Yeah, the smaller kids bed setup gave me claustrophobic goosebumps

People freaking out about this... This looks like heaven memories that last forever. It's not like they spend 24 hours in the van every day.

That's an impressive amount of beds in a small van.

I think it's a great way for a large family to be able to go on holiday without it costing an arm and a leg! Love the ingenuity shown and I'm sure the kids will enjoy the adventures :)

At first i thought this was gonna be a very tight fit for the kids while the parents got a big sleeping space... But i have to say im quite suprised of how you guys have sought everything out very nicely, its a practical build with spacious sleeping space❤❤

Did a good job. But I couldn’t be in there with more than one other person. And then not for long. I bet you have had many good times as a family. That’s awesome

Well done on a fabulous build. As a mum of 5 I know how tricky it is (was) to make sure everyone has what's needed to travel - no you don't need 5 jumpers 😂. So much organisation and tetris moves but when I look back now after 15 years, these were the best times.❤. Enjoy your travels, more importantly, enjoy making memories. ❤❤

This is an excellent set-up for short-term traveling! For long-term or permanent adventures, the lack of privacy would be problematic.

Love how you created a divider wall between the top bunks for the older children. You are really considering their needs.

Great set up - just a thought, you should get a set of longer legs and make a table out of that bed for rainy days if you're stuck inside.

Yeahhhh no. I think I would prefer tent camping than being crammed into a van like that. However, it works for this family so good luck to them :)

I would’ve loved a skylight in the ‘upstairs’ beds! Personally, that’s what I’m always hoping for in van builds but I totally understand why it rarely happens lol. This is a pretty cool build!

Truly lovely, efficient & comfortable set up ~ so impressive! How thoughtful to arrange the extra leg room for your tallest~ I'm sure he's grateful. Our youngest son was already 6'4" at 14 yrs old, so I understand the adaptations. The experiences & memories you're blessing your children with are priceless~ such a wonderful life they're having. Not to mention the cooperation skills, patience & tolerance opportunities, also priceless, imho. My husband & I live & travel in a 21ft Vista Mini class C that's 7ft across at widest point, & somehow you seem to have more room =) We could pare down some more I suppose, yet w/just the two of us now, it's actually more than enough. Thank you kindly for sharing your build in this post.* I notice you both still have all your hair, which means you're already modeling enormous patience yourselves~ well done!

Amazing setup! We are a family of 6 in a ford transit, we also managed to fit in, but in the end we went with buying a roof tent to give us more space and not have to convert things back and forth all the time.

Hello, WOW I am EXTREMELY impressed on the layout of the BEDS ingenious !! It looks fairly comfortable and provides each child with their own small designated space/area. That’s amazing! We have 5 kids. All ours are tall, oldest being 6”8. We have campervan caravan and take the car. So we have a place for all of them 😂 still love camping tho

Interesting set up how everybody fits. But, no food in the fridge or in the cabinets, no storage items in the storage pockets in the toilet area, I’d like to see how they actually use it unless they buy food every day? I don’t know, that part seemed a bit strange

I would need to see this with all 7 people inside it to really see how it works. Those 4 seats look less comfortable than in an airplane. Where does everyone sit (presumably) to have meals? Or is this only used in good weather so you're outside? That top sleeping area for the littles is positively claustrophobia inducing. I live in a conversion van with 2 cats and people wonder at that. 😳😂

It's cool there are so many beds, but I assume this can't be a long term/full-time living space... But even so where do you put all of your clothing (clean and dirty) and other personal items? Do you use mostly disposable dining and silverware? I only ask because again, it doesn't seem like there is a huge storage area. I like it! Instead of a tent it's like a more sturdy camping situation and gives you some extra comforts you wouldn't necessarily have in a regular type tent and you can drive it places so it's easier to set up!

cool van build. seems cramped yes you make it work but its still cramped. For such a busy van i would want to hinge half the bed so it can tilt and push back becoming a sofa. Then again if i had five kids i would convert a coach or a double decker bus or a box truck and have an upstairs

This is absolutely beautiful and perfectfor traveling or trips not as a full time home, no way - this is torture. Also, parents need their privacy, is nothing sacred these days?

For that amount of 7 in that van it's so so small n it looks very uncomfortable n claustrophobic but besides that the van self-made looks amazing😁😁💜

The only thing we didn't see was how you cook your food. You mentioned that on one trip you had a microwave along. Do you have a cooktop? Cook outdoors? We were amazed at how much storage you created and still had room for each of you to sleep comfortably! 😊 It took a lot of planning to accomplish that.

I missed what cargo van you used? Do you plan on camping over the winter? Very smart lay out and keeping it under 3.5T!

I used to own a camper that slept 11. The first time we used it, everbody kept showing up to stay. I told my husband when we get home, we're selling this thing. It sleeps too damn many.

Good for a vacation, but to live in fulltime. What about privacy for the kids. Teens need privacy. But a good job.

But it's a little bit hard to believe unless the children are there to demonstrate how they sleep.

Id' like to know how you get all those electrics off of one battery. I've got 2 batteries and a solar panel, no inverter as the 3000watt inverter I had was draining the batteries too much. I'm freezing in the winter and boiling in the summer. So, I'd like to know what I have done wrong? It would be lovely to live completely off-grid, but I can't because I don't have enough power for the heater in the winter nor the fans in teh summer. I've resorted to buying one of these Ecoflow batteries, which is really noisy when I power it up via the solar panel (which smashed soon after I bought it!) and it's really noisy. You have managed a great set-up. I just wish I could get mine sorted.

Fabulous set-up! May I ask what material you used for the bathroom walls? I want a little shower in mine and can't decide.

How do they climb up their beds? I don't think I can on my own without a ladder or climbing like spiderman on the walls and grasping on things.. hehehe I'm also baffled on how 7 people can have a tiny space in the garage for their bags and clothes. Really impressive minimalism. 😀

Overall, it’s not really a bad van. I would say that if you’re travelling around York for five weeks and then it’s going to be very classy phobic. I would also say personally, I never liked facing that way when I’m travelling like to forward where I know I’m going In theory, I’d have to be sleeping just at that top Also, do you have like an awning or something that you can add to it? So I in the daytime or something or wherever you’re travelling for a couple days so that you can have an opportunity? What do you do when the kids are sleeping?
