An am american about to enter college i can assure you itd ridiculous. A lot of them practice hazing which is a suuuper dangerous thing. Its basically bullying and kids die, are sexually assaulted, get alcohol poisoning, and are raped. Also a lot of them are more about social life than academic so they drink and party way too much. Also they have really intense schedules with meetings and socials all thr time which can make it hard to stay on top of work and classes Of course this isnt every single sorority/fraternity some of them are good but personally i dont see the appeal

my appartment is 45 minutes away from my University in public transports lmao... and when i didn't have an apartment I had 1h of train and 30 minutes of public transports to go to class💀

When I was doing my Higher National Diploma Equine Studies in Bangor - I used to travel 3 hours 40 mins to only use the library as all practicals took place at an equine yard which took only 3 hours 37 mins to get to from where I lived. Did not live in student accommodation due to the fees being very high and could not afford them. All my travel was done by buses

Idk what college she goes to but I don't think sororities up north are as big of a thing as they are where I'm from in the south. My state University has the biggest Greek life nationwide and from what I've seen the houses are so much bigger. Same with the other state Universities I'm applying for.

Same! I lived on campus when I first went away to school, but i lived at home when I transferred. I definitely prefer off campus for living purposes.

I think so too! But when she maybe was a bit older so she wasn’t missing out on all those opportunities while she could still have the you may not realize this but sometime it is fun to have the “burden” of a roommate but once your out of it you’ll definitely miss it...maybe when she is older

@@laurensnyder well, in my country we don't have campus or sorority houses... We just live at home or move into a apartment closer to the university so it's normal for us to not live with friends

Haley Raygoza all of my stuff is currently in storage and I’ll be using it when my friends and I live in an apartment on campus next year. And yes you pay a fee to live in a sorority!

I am only living here for a semester, so its not a great amount of time, its temporary.

Ece it’s basically a social group where you meet other amazing girls and get to get connections for future jobs you would want in the future. Each sorority also has their own fundraising events for things such as breast cancer, ANAD, cystic fibrosis, etc. Greek life is a really community for everyone who is interested in that type of stuff. :)
