What a bittersweet moment! Over the past 2.5 years I've shared transforming the apartment I found quickly during the rise of Covid. It wasn't my first choice but I knew we could make it some place special. I am so happy the new tenants adore the space and want to leave everything as is!

Packing hack for short moves. Leave folded clothes in the dresser. Remove dresser drawers, move the dresser into moving van, reinstall drawers in the van, reverse when unpacking the dresser.

@@808darwin his landlord (Roger) was in his 80s and passed away a few months ago :( there's a vid of foxie showing his landlord the renos he did to his apt and his landlord loved everything! foxie mentioned how Roger was very supportive of his design ideas and even got permission to take out a wall if he wanted!! what landlord does that? and in LA of all places? but Roger was instrumental bcuz if foxie thought it up, Roger was fully onboard. RIP Roger, the best landlord LA has ever seen

Moving out of that apartment is sad. 😔 Makes me think of your old gentleman landlord. I'm glad he got to see what you did to the space before he passed. He seemed like such a sweetie. 😊

@@aftonoofoo6740 you are probably not a creepy weirdo, but you are not friends with him. Just because he doesn’t seem like a stranger to you doesn’t make you less of a stranger to him. It is a parasocial relationship, a one sided relationship. It isn’t an inherently bad thing to have a parasocial relationship, but you have to understand that you are a stranger and behave like one to not overstep any boundaries and make him uncomfortable.

Hotel folds. I learned this while working at an Inn. It's actually the most practical way to fold. Organized, space saving and keeps things neat. It's not weird, it's the best way🙂

The best packing advice I can give is this: use your linens as padding when packing breakable items. Not only do you reduce the need for purchasing supplies, it's also environmentally friendly. Almost all of my inherited china is cradled in sheets, shams, and towels. I try to keep items in a room with whatever linens would also be found there so I'm not left guessing what's what when I open a box (even though I've taken to listing most items on the top of the box - last move was a doozy). Makes life so much easier when you get to the new place.

Definitely need some softness in the breakfast room, whether that’s wall tapestries, curtains, a rug, upholstered chairs or pillows, or cloth place mats, the double tile is beautiful but its missing textural softness, which for a breakfast nook is crucial

The framed fabric swatch would look so warm and interesting hung in your breakfast room. It would balance the reds and tan walls.

Actually, coming from someone who's moved over 50 times in my life (yeah, I'm kind of a gypsy), a fantastic hack is to keep a box of old socks and put breakable glasses into them. Just put the glass into the sock then stuff the access into the interior of the glass. This provides a great way to shield the interior. As I said, I've moved a lot of times and this is the best way I've found to wrap glassware AND save a lot on packing materials.

I would definitely glue some felt to the bottom of that cement base for the kitchen table and I would also make sure you put little felt stoppers on any pottery that you put on that table cause it could scratch those tiles. Love u so much Drew!!!
