In addition to being the greatest skier ever (and so darned cute), I think the most impressive thing about her is that she appears to be very, very REAL! Best of luck to her in everything she ever does!
I love how she and her man are the greatest competitor’s literally in history. Yet hey carry their own bags, are accessible, teachable, hungry to keep learning and improving because they share the DNA of champions, which is there’s no finish line in the pursuit of excellence.
Mikaela, you always bring joy to me with your smile and happy face. I hope that you have a great off-season with some rest/fun, and successful preparation for the next season.... Be healthy and happy.... Don't forget to upload some video from time some time... I always adore and love you.
Involuntarily smiling along , feeling like we are in on the “look” or a reaction. Such a privilege to be able to partake in the fun times. The I’m nervous clip made this episode for me. Best ever, but human and relatable. So honest. Thank you so much.
Another exceptional episode. I just love this series. The tone, the style and the story focus. It all works because the subject is so real and authentic. Mikaela inspires by living her life to the best of her gifts, skills and ability. Kudos to everyone involved.
Thank you for including that shot of her at the top of the course looking and sounding really scared. So important for young skiers to understand Michaela is human like the rest of us!
It is so great to catch up with you Miki! I know it is one-sided, but I always appreciate you letting us into your world, showing even emotional and clumsy moments, and I also love your warm and sincere manner of doing it. I always feel welcome watching these episodes. Thanks, and keep going! ❤
What an incredible, kind, humble, down to earth woman! I‘m looking forward to seeing more of your life and I‘m curious to see what pages of your story you will write next. Enjoy the summer, have fun, can‘t wait for Sölden :) Greetings from Switzerland Tom
I think this series of videos encapsulates what makes Mikaela the best ever. The passion for what she does and the pure desire to just be better than you were yesterday, is very impressive and inspiring. In my opinion, these videos are a must, not only for ski racers, but for people in other sports, on how to behave not only on the field, but off of it, as well. They are an example of how to build a brand and a name, while being real and 100% you. Enjoy the summer and keep smiling.
Thank you for sharing your moments! Seeing you and Aleks together makes me smile every time, nice to have the DH globe winner as your speed consultant lol. ☮❤
I love this episode, I think it's my favorite so far! Love to see you and Aleks together, and to see you so happy! After everything you've been through, you deserve it more than anyone! I'm really proud of you! Ps. I can't wait for next season to start, and I hope I can meet you at some races❤️
Such a great video!! Thank you for sharing. And honestly among all the amazing scenes in the video I think my favorite is the one of you and Alex dancing in the field!
Life is such a amazing ride even if your not skiing. I miss the greatest sport on earth, but I still love watching these amazing skiers. To be the best of the best is a gift from God and yourself, but these victories are also shared within the amazed spectator, that gets to enjoy the race in a different way. Mikaela, you have become a most deserving worlds greatest, in many ways. Please look up Billy Kidd, he needs a boost from you. Not forgotten.. He reallly admires you also.
Bravo Mikaela, your hard work continues to pay off with wonderful opportunities. It is pleasure to watch you compete and also get this behind-the-scenes glimpses.
Odi & Miki are two pretty inspiring athletes. I'm glad we can follow them on the media, especially through youtube. Great job. And Aleks is cool too ;)
As one of a few active, female certified coaches and refs in the central region of USSS, your mom's little interview about how they can do, and it doesn't need to be a male dominated coaching sport was much appreciated :)
Karen Harjo is a US Ski Team coach. I worked with her at Crystal Mt. Such a good skier and person to inspire myself now inspiring historical performances on the World cup. Thanks Karen!
I think you can still dominate ; they mentioned age. I think dominating is also a idea or mental. Put in the time. I ❤you. You dominated my rehab this year 23. Thank You
Another beautiful episode, you are absolutely fantastic! Thanks to @mikedawsy and @kingdomofdana for their work allowing us to share these moments ! Will there be the last episode with summer training?
How many languages does Aleks speak? I saw him on German tv speaking flawless German in a long form interview. So he speaks three fluently for sure. I’m amazed.
I think Michelle Gisin is up to five now (French, Spanish, German, Italian, English)-- maybe six if you count Swiss German as a separate language. Lara Gut also speaks a crazy number of languages.
Wuhoo! Thought we had to wait until next season for another episode... but this one left me wondering if you ever get any plain old simple private "ME" time... I hope so... you need ME time to regenerate!
I really would love to see Alex coach you onto a DH globe at some point through the final chapter of your career. I know it’s an almost impossible challenge, and the amount of time, work and effort that it would take would have a knock on negative effect with your tech. You’ve completed technical skiing, and I think your the only person in the world who has the ability to go onto complete the full set of globes.
Seeing you and Aleks eat Norwegian treats, the main question remains: which sweets are the best? Last time I was in Norway i ate Kvikk Lunsj like a machine... ^^ Never made it over the pond, so can't say it for US sweets.
Hello, United by Summits Team in adidas TERREX. Winners on United by Summits were revealed? If not yet, could you please let me know the date for the reveal?
Nervous because people are watching. ROLF. You’ve skied in the Olympics with hundreds of millions of people watching. You routinely race in front of thousands. You are too funny. Love love love these videos. I wish I knew how to get the millions of views these deserve. Maybe you should get Taylor Swift on the snow.
Are there any sports in which the elite athletes are able to practice less than ski racing? It’s amazing how little actual ski race practicing skiers are able to do. I can’t think of anything.
It's a bit of a cop-out answer since it's also skiing, but aerialists get a lot less training than even racers do. Other than that... boxing, maybe? They can never train at 100% intensity because it's such an unhealthy sport.
Some nice swag might have been a replacement for your busted globe. Then again, it is a physically and symbolically powerful metafor for all the records you have and will break. That and the supremacy of patriarchy from the "heyday" of skiing. 🙃
