I think the same can be said for Kent in relation to the views - of course we are missing the beachside of the sunny coast but today we went for a walk at the Devils Kneading Trough in Wye Downs and it was delightful. It’s funny you say it’s like starting over building a life again, it’s what we are a little nervous about moving back home next year. While Maz & Ben mentioned the Education system one thing they didn’t mention that can encompass Education and be outside Education and is an awesome PRO is that Maz & Ben have given their girls a fantastic, new, high quality childhood. Australia can grow any food, vegetable or fruit because we have the cold down south and tropical regions up north. We have top quality meat and seafood. Maz & Ben’s kids are exposed to top quality food everywhere. Maz’s & Ben’s kids are growing up in a country where it lures you outside to exercise without even knowing you are doing it. Australians love their kids playing sport and towns and communities love their kids playing sport and joining clubs. Maz & Ben’s kids are also exposed to Australia’s Health System, yes like England in the fact that everybody is treated equal and if you are rich or poor you can still access quality, quick health care, but the weather, the food, education, and the health system ensures that Maz & Ben have made the right choice for their kids and they’ll eventually grow up to be healthy, happy Australians. That’s a major PRO and it really is about ‘Raising Kids in Australia’.

Expensive and difficult visas - yes true, but when I got a contract for a 4 years in England in 2005 it cost my wife several thousand dollars and hurdles like a UK knowledge test to get UK residency for four years to join me. We were married and she was a skilled graduate. I was OK as I was born in the UK and had dual citizenship. My wife was of Anglo background but her ancesters came over 100 years ago so she could not claim UK citizenship automatically. I actually think for both countries this is fair enough. Seeking residency in Singapore and Thailand is also not cheap. So it is the same in most places, but thanks for the videos.

At least regarding the visa process we might actually and finally see an improvement with the new Labor government. Beginning of September, there will be a big summit with representatives from unions and the industry. The chances that the annual intake will be increased up to 200k, better processing time through more staffing, and better access to permanent residency are good. Certainly more encouraging than it has previously been!

Been in Sydney since 2018. Since then there’s been fires, which meant Smokey air for months. Covid so no flying anywhere and then heavy rain for 3 years in a row. Now the air fairs have doubled so I can barely afford to visit my family in Europe. No it’s not worth it. It’s culturally lacking too. A rash guard, also known as rash vest or rashie, is an athletic shirt made of spandex and nylon or polyester. They’re popular for swimming, particularly for children.

I have a question. With all the inflation increases, food fuel etc. Do you regret coming to Australia or do you feel the UK and the world is all in the same boat? Are you still glad you came from an economic point of view? I know you love the country and lifestyle but have you had any doubts?
@TheBAMFamalam
@TheBAMFamalam Год назад
The UK has been hit harder than us by the sounds of it - also, their wages are lower, so they don’t have that buffer like we do, many people there are struggling. I think even if it was harder here we would still make it work though - we wouldn’t want to allow money to stand in the way of our dreams, plus we truly believe we are doing the best for our children 😊

When I first moved to Australia in 1988 I was surprised that the cost of living was not cheap, as I'd been led to expect. Housing was not cheap either. But after a few years I was able to buy a house, which I'm certain I could not have done in the UK. Later I left to work in NZ for a while. Came back to Australia with no money, in fact in debt. Within a few years I'd recovered and bought a house (again) which I'd never have done if I'd stayed in NZ. So two times I have moved to Australia and really found it the land of opportunity. Mind you in both cases I had high skill level and was prepared to work hard. If you're like that I think you can do very well. I wonder about the US where the cost of living and the cost of housing is so cheap, but then I remember that the majority of americans seem to be dicks and their education system sucks so I'd come back to Australia any time.
