Moving to Cambridge. Thinking of making the move to Cambridge, Ontario?! Well here’s a little bit about why it’s such an amazing place to live.
Cambridge is broken down into three major areas, Hespeler, Galt, and Preston, each with their own unique histories. We’ll get into those histories a bit more when we visit each location respectively but as a whole, Cambridge has so much to offer residents that few people are aware of. There’s loads of trails and parks with gorgeous scenery and tons of wildlife; beautiful architecture; golf courses; schools; some of the region’s and even the country’s best restaurants; and a whole lot more. The real estate here has been booming as of late as well due in large part to the city’s proximity to a lot of major highways like the 401. Keep watching as I try to highlight just a bit of what makes Cambridge so great!

I’ve lived there since birth and tbh Cambridge is okay depending on where you go. Like the downtown areas are generally very pretty but just like almost any city, we have our share of junky/sketchy areas (I’ve personally lived in a few of those areas and if you can get past the rough exterior they’re actually quite nice). The three regions in Cambridge (Hespeler, Preston, and Galt) were originally separate townships until they were combined in 1973 to create Cambridge. Having some sort of general knowledge on the locations of the three areas is important to get a general sense of where things are. Like for example 3 of the arenas are named after the areas (Galt Arena Gardens, Hespeler Memorial Arena and Preston Memorial Auditorium) and you’ll often get locals saying they live in one of the three areas or businesses will say which of the three they are located. Overall Cambridge is a decent place to live but don’t get sold on it so quickly. The places shown in this video were some of the nicest areas in the city and only a small percentage of the entire thing so be mindful of that because what you see isn’t always what you get.

i moved here from Sudbury 2 years ago and like how close shopping is in Preston everything is 10 minutes away lots of industry work but on the down side miss swimming in clean drinkable water and good fishing that you can actually not be scared to eat lol

@@OtisThorpe518 city wise yes but time wise depends how busy your life is like it’s a hour away from Toronto and usually lots of traffic so I would say yes my dad raised me in Cambridge and he went to work in Toronto almost every day and worked well!

I've lived here practically my whole life just do your research before moving because there are a lot of sketchy areas and with some really nice areas but again you have to pay for the really nice areas

I am here cuz I’m looking for a certain part of Cambridge, I am not moving there cuz I’m under 18 so... but I remember my grandma used to own a trailer near McClintock’s Water Ski School cuz I’m looking for that area to bring back memories from when she owned the trailer she sold it a couple years back and I haven’t been there since, she used it as a summer home and me and my mom would go sometimes, it was awesome being there. Brings back so many memories

Hey Matt just wanted to say your video was awesome and informative. I chilled in the area last week with my brother and galt/Hespeler downtown were beautiful. I had a question for my next visit back where are you standing to get such an insane view? keep killing it!

Hey glad you liked the video Ben! 😀 So it was a couple spots. We were actually in a high rise looking over the grand river right beside The Cambridge Mill and the second spot was actually very close to DT near the dam. 👍

Highland public school, Southwood for elementary and Galt Collegiate Institute (GCI) is the high school are all great options! There are a few more as well. This was an overview of Cambridge as a whole we will be breaking down Galt, Preston and Hespeler in future videos so look out for that! Thank you for the question Senthil!

Non-white immigrant here. I've lived in Brampton, Mississauga, Milton and now here in Cambridge. Cambridge school system is much better than other cities. Most teachers and staff are really amazing. School curriculum and activities are great. Majority of population in Cambridge is well-educated due to the fact city has 2 universities and 2 campuses of Conestoga college. Hespeler has good schools. Avoid the Linden Street. Some parts of Cambridge has really old houses that people bought it for 80K or so. Avoid those sketchy areas with narrow ass lanes, where everyone in neighborhood has tattoos all over body. Besides that Cambridge is a great city and has potential to become better than Mississauga, IMO. It all depends on people, MP, Mayor and how they want to invest tax payers money to make it a great city. Avoid Milton, ON at all costs. Milton is the biggest shthole I've lived in. Most people behave like 3rd world thugs in Milton due to lack of education. It's no surprise there's a Prison in Milton and most Milton residents will end up in Prison.

What do you think my monthly expense are going to be inclusive of rent, car EMI, groceries, utilities, subscriptions etc. I want to see if I can survive and save too while I am living there. Hamas Kaleem thanks for watching! I suppose it depends on what sort of education you’re looking for. The University of Waterloo’s architecture school is in Cambridge. Conestoga College also has a campus in Cambridge that happens to be right next door to their main campus in Kitchener - they’re neighbouring cities (part of what’s known as the Tri Cities). This is what the Director at the Canadian Roofing Association (CRCA) has to say about Hy-Grade Roofing a metal roofing company based in Guelph: "I will say that I have researched this company - Hy-Grade Roofing - and did not take me long to find several complaints and bad reviews with the BBB (Better Business Bureau). These types of complaints would have been enough for me to pass on this contractor. I see many issues and complaints related to the many ‘Metal Roofing Companies’ who promise the world to the customer, then don’t follow through when it’s time to enforce the warranty or get issues rectified..." Not even the CRCA would use you as a contractor. I invite all potential customers to contact the CRCA before signing with Hy-grade!
