Hey Elizabeth, Thanks for watching! Unfortunately, many of the things you listed (near ocean, warm, by a city with medical care, without tornadoes and hurricanes) are difficult to accommodate outside of California. Among those factors you listed, which ones would be your biggest priority? I actually have been thinking about doing another retirement video some time in the near future. I am still young, but I enjoy thinking about retirement lol. I did a video on some great places to retire and I will have linked it here for you: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2-UPrXQ7TaM.html Take Care!

Lived there in 1979-1980, it was beautiful then and a real cool place to live. Went back for a visit 10 years later and it was an overgrown mess. It reminded me of LA with about the same air quality. Drove through again last year from southern Utah to KC and I was not even interested in stopping.

Population density has ballooned in every major city over the past forty years. In the suburb where I live, there was always plenty of on-street parking 30 years ago. Now, units tend to have more tenants and multiple cars, so the nearest parking space is two blocks away. Also, when I was young, people didn't litter so much, but now that everybody sees it everywhere, I guess people have started to think it is OK.

In the first 20 seconds you say Denver is "Nestled within the beautiful Rocky Mountains." This is false. Denver is next to the mountains, on the plains. It's a 30 minute drive from Denver to the nearest mountains.

Denver is home now to me. Been living here since 2009 and can say alot has changed and many locals don't like that. However it brings Denver more recognition than it did before. I like the video and the facts. One thing I have to say is that I see clips of people canoeing in the downtown river. And I highly recommend to NOT do that or swin in that river. It is filthy and the first time I wanted to do that, my friend had to tell me they never done that because the water is dirty. I suggest going to the mountains or Boulder, it was cleaner and more clear the water.

I been here all my life and I don't think nobody has a problem with people wanting to move here! Its the fact they move here just to smoke weed and be homeless my family had a beautiful home but now all the homeless people are here and they have taken it and made it worthless because they live, piss and defecate in the streets like animals Denver was never like that its a small city it's not made like other big cities

I’ve been living here 17 years hard to believe time has passed by so quickly it’s had its pros being so close to the majestic Rockies and wonderful friends but beyond that we’re over it and ready to sell and go back East, plenty of water and cleaner air 2 things lacking here unless you’re in the mountains. Oh and more affordable living cost in other places. Nice video though.

Just to piggyback on the info in this video-Denver is relatively clean and orderly and for a medium sized city. All the streets are paved, there are no really "hood" areas. The mountain views are beautiful when the air is clear. It's a nice place in the way that JC Penney's is nice-clean and simple, a little overpriced for what you get. Access to the mountains and sports are great here , but that better be all you like LOL. The food is bland, the museums are lacking in the depth of the exhibits that come here and variety, and everything is pricey. I think this video is a little misleading; it's not very diverse here at all, and if feels extremely segregated-not in a hateful way like the South, but in a "people stay with their own kind" way. I get out and about a lot and I rarely see blacks and Latino's or Asians participating in "daily life" (I don't see them at museums or in the bars hanging out, etc). It's weird. To also touch on this point, all the minorities I have met while living here (this is South Asians, East Asians, Africans, Latinos, etc) all leave Denver within two years of moving here because they feel invisible. I think that is important to note if you that is important to you. I own a house in Denver and the utilities and taxes are extremely low although I cannot afford to move up into a larger home because housing is outrageous (hence, I'm moving out of state to do so). I also make a decent salary, in which I will attest that if you work hard like you would NEED to do on the West or East coasts (or in Chicago or Dallas) to stay competitive, you will go far in your career here, because most people seem to want to play in the mountains more than put in a few more hours of work to get stuff done. Lot's of opportunity here and really nice salaries in tech and financial-related industries. But just know that if you are a single person making $75,000, you will be relegated to living in an apartment unless you have cash laying around to buy a place. The winters aren't bad since the snow melts a day or two after it falls, and the city is prepared for it. Overall, it's nice, but the air quality is actually pretty bad in the summer and winter due to the geography of the city; it's very isolated so you better like driving hours and hours or flying to other cities, and the people are a little "different" if you are coming from areas in the South where people are easy to get to know-it's not a welcoming place in Denver unless you have a dog, Subaru, or a ski season pass lol

I agree with you. I have a friend that lives in Federal blv close to Speer blv and when he was growing up, it was mostly a hispanic/Latino neighborhood. Now he's the only Hispanic family that lives in his neighborhood. Many of his friends families were either bought out of their homes or the rent was raised by a landlord that had no choice but to move. I live in a neighborhood in commerce city (north east of Denver) and we get offers to buy out our house so they can demolish it and make them to apartment complexes. We as well as my neighbors have refused to sell, but thats what happened to many communities around the Denver city area. Normal houses get demolished and next apartment complexes get built.

I visited Denver 16 years ago and really liked it . I visited here and there too for the last two years . I moved there from France last year ..stayed there 6 months In Rino. Hated it. It changed alot. Went downhill. Weather seems to only get hotter ..barely any seasons. It's so brown not enough grass or a tree anywhere..Just corporate looking buildings overlooking a wasteland ..and always more of the same being built Always more construction. Every building seems to have same aesthetic inside ...like a warehouse or industrial. Only place with any charm was Latimer Square . Its over populated and the food is terrible. Bad restaurants. Can't count how many times I'd go eat somewhere and food be too salty and just generic and expensive! I have lived in Ventura California which I loved ..has great food. Close to beach and even that was cheaper than Denver . You present so much nature and activities in this video but truth is I don't want to go outside when weather is over 100 °! Was terrible and not enough things to do Aside from this .I visited two zoos ...worse zoos I've ever been to. Most animals also were hiding in shade because heat was so severe. I ended up seeing only like 10 animals that day ..also the zoo wasn't beautiful decorated just average at best. You can visit a million breweries but they all taste the same ..downtown is ugly and the streets in such bad condition. I was bored there and was awful to see the amount of homeless right around the corner of " luxury apartments" which rent costs an arm and a leg. Tent micro cities and drug addicts . Embarrassing to say the least. Never going back there again and I'll never recommend anyone to go there . Denver was the most unfulfilling depressing city I've ever been to

Please don't come here to escape California. We have a bunch of California transplants who brought their politics with them. Now Colorado is turning into another California. Colorado voters recently voted to give the state's Electoral College votes to California.

The city of Denver is often enough not prosecuting for murder, severe beatings of residents by the homeless and by immigrants, shoplifting, etc., etc., etc., BUT they’re charging for parking tickets even if you pay the meter and also if just pull right up to the front door of a restaurant to grab your to-go food and pull away all in the span of 15 seconds! You still get a ticket if there’s a parking meter guy culturing close by. The people running this city need to be put away without the possibility of parole.
