My wife was Hungarian ..married 16 yrs we're divorced.... she immigrated to the US...we had a home on the danube bend....I'm getting close to retirement, I have been thinking of going to live in Hungary. I enjoyed the people and the country so much.
If you move to Budapest, not to Tapolca or other small towns, you can live your life just fine, make friends, get everything done in English. Of course, if you speak the language, it is a plus, but don't be discouraged to move to Budapest in case you can't get to a conversational level in Hungarian before moving.
Then, you should go back to Hungary. Now, there is no sovjets, cold war, and other really bad factors, so its not a bad choice to come back. There are relative only smaller problems now
More and more western european, american settle down in Hungary the local people have less and less chance to buy a new home. Property prices are pushed higher and higher.
It has to be said though, that the old crime-ridden VIII. district was no more dangerous during its darkest days than a rather peaceful US municipality.
I live in Pittsburgh in the USA, my father’s side of the family immigrated here from Hungary. I really hope to be able to move there one day. I think the culture and people are the best you can find anywhere.
Hungary was one of the best countries to live in before the plague hit. And then there was a very dry summer which killed all the crops in parts of Europe, and also the war in Ukraine. Inflation really messed things up. Prices for everything pretty much doubled in just a few years. That being said, Hungary, especially the capitol and its agglomeration is still a great place to live in. No disrespect, but I would never exchange it for the vast majority of the US, where crime, drugs and other things are just mental.
I was born and raised in Hungary left Hungary at 24. I live in the USA for 33 years now, never been back to Hungary, but last year I had to go Back and I just LOVE it!!!!!!! I think when I retire here will go back to live there !!!! He is absolutely right people food everything is great there!!! Thanks for the video!!!!
There are plenty of giant stores that eclipse even Walmarts. Try some Tesco hypermarkets or some Auchans. You just need to check out which one is a big one.
My name Mark from Ghana Africa. I'm very much interested in your conversation. Currently I'm in hungary schooling. I'm looking for a job in hungary please can someone help me?
