Watching the first sunrise shot reminded me of the time when my father passed away at a hospital and I watched the first sunrise of my life without him. It was the exact same look - an orange lit sky with an egg yolk sun behind those flats. Wishing u all the best in Singapore. It's usually not a place that people will call it their forever home but it will still make a special place in your 💖 heart.

You are lucky you have someone to share. I have no one when I first came to Singapore but then I started praying and then miracle happen I was no longer feeling alone then I started to pray 5 times a day more miracle happened my work life was getting easier day by day no more stress no more problems and yeah now it’s my 11th month in Singapore and I am very happy with my life by remembering Allah.

Thank you - I really enjoyed this video. I am in many ways the opposite of you: male; not young (in my 70s and retired); of a 100% British heritage (but Welsh & N. Irish, not English); rooted - we have lived in Yorkshire for almost 40 years - and I have never lived outside the UK. I have never really had to ask myself "where is home?", because I have always known. Yet in recent years, and especially since I retired, I have been able to travel, and have seen other possibilities that my life might have taken. But perhaps not - international travel has never been simpler, information finding has never been easier (the internet is the most extraordinary change I have seen in all my life) than today. Doing what you are able to do, living the way you are living, would have been so much harder in the 1970s and 80s. But never mind: even though I might envy the opportunities available today, I have enjoyed the life I have lived. And Singapore! I travelled there in 2017 for the first time and have been back a couple of times; and in October I will for the first time be going there with my wife, who was still working during my previous visits.

I am a local, born and bred here. Home is where your heart belongs. Singapore has progressed but the beautiful memories growing up here still remains. The older generation will remember the struggles we had to overcome . I hope the new generation will carry the torch and continue the Singapore story. Side note : Next time put the dark soya sauce a tiny bit instead of the light soya sauce to the half boiled eggs. Cheers.

Wow! Welcome to Asia! I've been away from RU-vid for quite some time and now you're in Singapore. I hope the summer weather isn't too much to handle~ And I hope you're adjusting well to your new life ~🙂To answer your question, knowing my roots is something that has always been important for me. I've always believed that a huge part of my identity is a collection of all of my ancestors. Something that my family and I have been doing these past months is researching our family history. We've uncovered lots of information, including plenty of old photographs. And there was a photograph of one of my great grandfathers where I resembled him so much. He used to just be a story but now we have something more tangible of him. We've also uncovered our Chinese ancestors, who are mainly from the southern part of China. Now that I'm living in HK, knowing that my ancestors might have lived in this region makes me appreciate HK even more. ☺

Best place about here is we have direct buses that goes to all the major central area of Singapore; Bugis, Orchard, CBD, Chinatown, Toa Payoh, Ang Mo Kio, Vivocity, etc. A great locale actually. And btw, your voice over was incredible!! Tks for putting in so much effort in your videos. Shows the creative side of your life.

To try to rent a place in HDB heartlands, enjoy the peace in the estate, enjoy its conveniences, enjoy the warmth of the heartlanders… and the orderliness and beautiful surroundings If you wanna avoid the hustle and bustle of the city, maybe you can try getting a place to rent in Punggol (northeastern seaside township), Telok Blangah (beside Mount Faber, near the sea at the South), Lakeside (near Chinese Gardens and Lake) etc. Hope you will enjoy your stay in Singapore, a place many called as their home.
