All true about Dallas! I came to Dallas in 2018 on a 'hail Mary' because even with my degree, I was pigeonholed. I got a full-time job in 90 days. It's nice to live in a city where you can get a job because of your abilities and experience and not who you know.

Im actually thinking of moving to the Frisco area in a few months. I just got out the Army and finishing up MBA at University of Colorado, but because of COVID I'll be finishing online. I feel this is good opportunity to move right now, as there seems to be a lot great corporations and opportunities in general. I visited the Frisco/Plano area a few weeks back and not only was it beautiful, I was surprised to see there is also a younger crowd there. I was choosing between Houston and Dallas, I'm definitely leaning toward the Dallas area.

As an Illinois transplant (yes, we are a freedom/America loving couple) I highly suggest when considering Houston to shop for an experienced real estate person. There are unincorporated and suburban areas that might just be your perfect fit. Everyone seems to have an opinion about Houston and some actually are valid :). Look up flood maps for areas close to bayous (another nickname is "the Bayou City") and major rivers. Southeastern Texas is subtropical and has heavy rains and can be hit by hurricanes. Newer neighborhoods have much better drainage, ask about this when finding your Houston home. An up side to the climate here is EVERYTHING grows, it's like living in a terrarium but with houses. We have never regretted our move to Houston, Texas and it is our forever home. One word about the video's mention about traffic, unless there's a bad accident, Houston traffic does not stop, in fact I've never seen pickup trucks move as fast as they do here. With many 10 lane freeways and wide tollways, you will rarely be stopped by traffic. Word of advice, get used to the turn arounds, exits and speed as fast as possible. This traffic is not for the faint of heart. Hope to be your Houston neighbor!

Baytown texas is a good place to live. It's clean crime is low and plenty of jobs here. It's growing by leaps and bounds I've been here since 2017 everything is spreaded out it takes an hour to get to huston 3 hrs from Dallas. Check it out.

Frisco schools are small size like private schools. Even in covid-19 pandemic, teacher can still be reasonably remote communicate with and remote manage a small size of class e.g. 10 students. I can't imagine how teacher can remotely communicate and remotely manage 100 students class during Covid-19 pandemic.

I've been in Katy, Texas (west Houston suburb) for 42 years. Excellent schools, wide range of home prices, beautiful parks and plenty of entertainment and shopping. It's a conservative town, so if your politics are liberal, stay away we don't want you here ruining things. Regarding nicknames: H-town and Bayou City for sure...Clutch City never heard of it. You don't want your kids in HISD - most people put their kids in private schools otherwise they live in the suburbs that have great public schools depending on which suburb. Friendswood, Pearland, The Woodlands and Katy have top districts.

So if you have to pick up only city which one? Dallas ?

What about Tyler? Not sure if you mentioned there.

Great list but I got to mention that San Antonio as it is also high in crime if you don't believe me just do your research. Just a few blocks from San Antonio river walk is getting bad. In my option stay away from downtown and go way out of San Antonio.

Sure move to Frisco, pay 2-3 times what you pay for EVRRYTHING just about anywhere.

Give it to me straight...what do you think about Tyler and surrounding Suburbs (Lindale, Bullard, Whitehouse) I have family relocating there for a medical job and have been asked to join (my job is virtual office). Most "top cities" lists in TX that I've seen completely omit Eastern Texas such as Tyler. All I know is it's the birthplace of Mahomes lol Edit: looks like the area has up to 10x the National Average for registered sex offenders...that's a pass for us!

As more people and corporations move to Texas ， it will be overbuilt and over crowded and over priced in few years also.

I hate it when people describe Texas as Flat or desert 🌵 like. This tend to be beta males who couldn’t get a fire going if they had a box of matches and a gallon of gasoline. I’ve lived in Missouri, California, Colorado and South Carolina and now I live in Texas. It’s a big ass state with lots of out door options from desert mountains to dense pine forest, swamps, coast, prairies the hill country and over 7000 thousand lakes many having more water volume then other states lakes combined. With many other states you get one or two options and that’s it. If variety is the spice of life, Texas has it in spades. Glad I moved here.

Dallas = job growth If your wanting to escape SoCal, especially, Los Angeles county in Cali then Dallas and the Metroplex is NOT for you. If your wanting to escape Marin or Alameda county in California don't waste your time to visit Austin, Houston area as well as Dallas. Dallas and Austin has been California...nized. Been there, done that. Native Californian here as well as California refugee.

I have lived in Texas all my life. I would NEVER live in ANY city. I raised my three kids in Woodsboro Texas. I would NEVER live in a city bigger than 5000 people. 45 years in this little town has been wonderful. Austin, Dallas, Houston, Dallas or any big city is the worst place to raise your kids. All three of mine are healthy, happy and successful. This is a Bull shit advert to sell you a house.
