Agreed, GOH has soooooooo much potential, every content drop and DLC they've had has been great so far and the mods are top notch. They need to keep it coming with good content and updates
Yeah, better AI and pathfinding would make GoH so much better. I do like the explosions and tank firing in mow2, though. They may not be as realistic, but they "feel" more powerful than GoH
The thing about gates is the optimization, soon as a bigger battle kicks of the fps drops are horrid even in higher end pcs. Men of war has always run amazing
@@sargentodapaz Not at all? I know the history of the games is confusing, but in this case it's quite simple. MoW2 is developed by Bestway who in turn have nothing to do with GoH.
@@stirpsromanica In last part you see infantry automatically jump over fence because it is faster then running around it. GOH you have to manually order them to vault it and then order them to advance again.
I dunno, but GoH is much better... the grafics, the physics, the explosions, the sounds... its just... nice. I mean you can see shrapnel hitting the ground around a explosion...
it truly amazes me how Gates of Hell is detailed, even when zooming in on a unit we can see a lot of details, crazy to think that modern RTS game like GoH is much more detailed than some FPS WWII shooters from many years back
Gates of Hell > everything I will say the lighting in MOW2 is nice and the auto fence jumping is good though everything else pales in comparison by so much, I mean that MG42 sound is terrible and they're still reusing much of the same audio from earlier games... That turret traversing sound has been in this franchise since 2004... with "soldiers heroes of world war 2"... The first entry!! At least GOH made everything from scratch.
Can't say I disagree, it's been clear that MOW's main developers are just going to continue to reuse as much as possible and release as sequels what used to be considered "expansion packs" back in the day. I kinda hope the GoH devs decide to build from scratch with a modern engine -- since they had the licensing issues that (Iirc) really held them back on doing what they wanted to do.
I would think just improving path finding to what MOW2 has and adding few more gamemodes would make GoH perfect. After that just add all the rest of the WW2 nations and you're done.
GoH feels like a game that was developed by people who loved the original MoW game. MoW feels like a game from a dev house that wants to keep selling us that same original MoW game. If GoH announced a sequel on a new engine so they were free to do what they wanted, that'd be a day 1 backing from me. The details in their work show a lot of passion and that tends to make for a great game.
the reason for that is that it is also an anti air. and to be effective at anti air it needs to aim fast. hence the high turning speed. (which i find kind of stupid too.) sneaky infantry or artillery will counter it.
@@Xanthira222 it's poor. Some big mods like hotmod require USA dlc to work even tho they aren't even set in WW2. But they have some unresolved bugs like invisible helicopters. And overall there isn't many working TC. The valour mod there isn't balanced either. Compared to mowas2, GoH modding scene is abysmal.
GoH needs updated mod tools. A lot of the mods are basically ported from mowas2. If mow2 brings better mod support and new tools, it will actually improve the mods in GoH as a result.
GoH looks and feels really dynamic in sound design, it feels like you are playing an RTS Hell Let Loose, AI for me seems pretty smart, don't see a lotta issues with path finding, MOWAS 2 is always a classic I will come back to yet , since release Men of War 2 Ive been jammin, I do love the introduction of echelon/ phases when in battle and the tech tree, AI needs some work with path finding and some elements seem bugged but overall is good feels like Men of War and War Thunder had a baby. I kinda feel the UI and Interface however is like CoH Company of Heroes.
Assuming that u used ultra graphic on all games , i can see that goh is better in everything except for human animations. Its also amazing to see mowas2 stands out after all these years
@@EagleTube777they recently redid every single german infantry uniform in the game with proper research put into every piece of equipment, the same dev that worked on them is also an animator and said in an interview with the youtuber Shermanator that he will now focus on animations so, maybe expect them to be improved tenfold in one of the next major updates since he will be using mocap for the new ones, they already redid the death animations with the release of the USF DLC and the improvement was massive

Except when they constantly reuse assets with no real innovation by looking at whats currently on the market and what is their direct competitor (GoH). I mean it has voice lines from Faces of war (2006) and the turret traversing sound is from the first entry which is even earlier in 2004. I'm all for supporting smaller devs making ww2 games but this is a decently sized RTS IP and it feels like they're shoving sh*t in our face in some respects
@@iTomBassI saw the devs reply in the forums that it ‘keeps with tradition’ that they reuse voices lol I never played the old ones but the charm is definitely not there
I do wish Gates of Hell had some of the gamemodes and setup that Men of War 2 has. Gates of Hell did nail the explosions and sounds though. Vehicles too in my opinion.
@@Techigai I think the conquest idea for MoW2 was unique, don’t know how I feel about the research and the battalion ideas since it’s practically just Echelons I feel. The research is shallower and I’ll prob understand it after quite a while
@SturmFuhrer, Is it just me or do the infantry and small arms models for GoH just look better, higher res. and of a higher quality then MoW2's? Also I would argue that the vehicle/tank models of MoW2 look about equal in both res. and quality to GoH. That worries me somewhat. Also this "healthbox" thing we've seen in the demo version makes it way too arcady. I hope there is an option to turn that off.
as a fan who has everysingle one of their games i personally love the gates of hell as their tanks are more detailed and more beautiful looking and shiny and the damage modules are good too and their animation i mean look at the guy on the right side sitting down he checks where the shot landed like a real one would do 3:29
Cant say I have ever zoomed in this far to stare at units...I am glad the ones I play didnt waste time on making units hyperrealistic. goh tanks look wet and shiney.

j'ai ma préférence pour GoH niveau des effets explosion et sons moteur et armes. il faut noter quand même que la course et le franchissement automatique de Mow 2 est intéressante voir innovante mais les animation , ligne de dialogue laisse a désirer je pense qu'il aurait pue approfondir cela pareil pour les formation de combat , prise de bâtiment. il n'empêche que personnellement je trouve que les effets visuel sont pas fous. qu'en pensez vous ?
Not based on graphics and animations but: GOH because men or war 2 once again didn’t add a dynamic, randomly generated, campaign. You can spend hours in GOH after you beat the campaign while in MOW2 you’d have to play online or play the same mission, right? I hope eventually they add some procedural stuff to the game.
Ive actually seen that even the historical missions have a variety of randomness to it. Not terrain or anything, unit placement, events that can happen, etc.
$45 for what is essentially a MOWAS 2 remaster. Seems fairly priced for what it is, but I'll likely wait for the summer sale and try to nab it around $30.
I like GOH, but man, the multiplayer is the worst stuff I've ever tried to play. Either get kicked, lag, or not have all the random mods someone has. It's an absolute nightmare to try to play.

well, i don't want to see both fandom to be fight each others, cause these three games are born from almost same engine and same genre... whice who better is not important, there always exist good or cons... but this is just comparison i hope someone not to fight for these things
Meh. GoH has that look that brings you into the game couple that with sound and physics that make you flinch, and it eclipses MoW2 in every aspect. I was extremely excited for MoW2. Figured itd be like GoH with modern graphics to make that color theme really pop along with sound and physics that comes closer to real world effects than its predessors. What a disappointment. Maybe ill buy it anyways, may not, but frim what ive seen, im not expecting much from it.
Man I was 100% ready to throw in with MaW 2… I never played the earlier titles and maybe I was spoiled by GoH but that game just hits right in every way. MaW2 just felt ‘lesser’. Like the combat is way more robust in GoH The latest updates to GoH’s sounds & German skins couldn’t have come at a better time for that game
The only things holding GoH back are the bad optimization and the trash AI. It would make it a gem if they managed to fix that and expand the conquest mode.
We need a new modern engine for this genre!!! I am so sick of this GEM garbage that we have had for a decade or more now. I want a modern looking polished high quality game!
After watching MOW2 gameplay and style it really feels like they want to be new Company of Heroes rather then keep going what they had with Assault Squad 2. Meanwhile GOH is just Assault Squad 2 that has been brought to 2024, with new campaign, better models and FPS system that was kinda shit in AS2. MOW2 might succeed in what they want, seeing how disliked CoH3 was, but would have been happy to see real competitor to Gates of Hell in more realistic RTS.
having played over 7 hours of mow2 which i got for free because of arena and the only reason i'm playing it it only does two things semi right and the rest of everything sucks ass, the units AI for targeting and using secondary weapons like grenades based on the situation and even then the grenade shit is still pretty broken.
@@blust4r_687 While yes - server wise and with game mode choice you may be right, but the general PVP gameplay in GOH is far superior and leads to a lot more tactical thinking. No doubt many more hours to be spent PVP in Goh than Mow2
@@iTomBass Nicht wirklich. Wenn wir ein Spiel in Betracht ziehen, bei dem Online besser ist, dann wird es zweifellos MoW2 sein, denn in GoH ist der Multiplayer langweilig und schrecklich! In MoW2 ähnelt der Multiplayer mehr dem von CoH2 und ich kann Ihnen sagen, dass er viel cooler ist.

Как бы я не хотел что-бы Men Of War II стала хорошей игрой, в технической составляющей она проигрывает отсутствием логики в полоске здоровья техники, некоторых технических аспектах и графики, сверх выкрученной до мультяшности. Посему GOH по праву современный представитель стратегий про ВМВ и ВОВ.
Mg42 really sounded best in AS2, going to stick with Gates of Hell, Men of War 2 really didnt pay attencion to competitor, which is Gates of Hell. Not Company of Heroes 3.
Auf jeden Fall MoW2! Angefangen bei Animationen, endend bei Effekten und Sounds. Ich werde beides spielen, aber wenn man den Multiplayer berücksichtigt, dann ist es definitiv MoW2, und dementsprechend werde ich mehr Zeit in MoW2 verbringen!🥇
