Mowing a HUGE yard with a 71 Year old TRACTOR!!! 

That's a great old tractor. Simple, strong and reliable. Good stuff.

65 years ago, I bush-hogged with an 8N Ford. What I remember most, was the power takeoff was live, You could clutch it and the mower would keep pushing the tractor! After the mower pushed me through a bob wire fence at the end of the field, i learned to kick it out of gear and then try to brake. Memories!

Brittny, maybe it's just me but I think your old man is taking advantage of your good nature. He's teaching how to do everything he's supposed to do. You need to turn the tables on him and teach him how to do laundry, clean house etc. That way he'll be able to do everything too. haha.

That's MY tractor that you have. I mowed with mine for over 20 years. I had a "trim" mower with three blades and it worked great! The hardest part was turning around all the time.

Wonder if she can drive the bus ? Wiring on these old tractors can be tough . My back hoe was a mess that I had . Takes time and patience . Good job driving that ford by you Brit ! The Jubilee is special because it’s my birthday tractor. Me and the Jubilee were born in the same year. I’ve owned three 8Ns and one 9N, but I never had the opportunity to buy a Jubilee. Always wanted to buy one and rebuild it from the ground up. At my age, opportunities are getting more rare. Enjoy it, it’s a great small farm tractor. Add a rake and a baler to your bush hog and you can make money selling the high grass as food for cattle. Add some alfalfa to your fields and you can sell it as hay for horses.

I usto drive one of those fixing fence on my pops farm. Our was grey and red and then grey and Ford blue. Still runs today. Super cool tractor. Brings back alot of memories.

Yep, always disconnect the grnd wire first during removal and connect it to the battery last !

Ford tractors do have a neutral safety switch that will not allow you to start the tractor unless you put the tractor in neutral. It will be a push button switch in front of the gear shift that has a mechanical device that will not allow you to push it all the way if the tractor's in gear. Unfortunately most of these were bypass by owners with a switch on a dash.

I don't remember but on one of my fords I had to use an override clutch on the PTO. If you didn't have it the brush hog if still moving would push the tractor even with the clutch in I. Love brush hog work. Enjoy.

You should get an old two row culivator that fits your fordson tractor, and when you plant your garden plant it so you can culivate your crop with the tractor and really be easy.

I had a friend that had the same tractor. He started it with a screwdriver, back tire got him pinned after turning plow hung on a root. They said it wasn’t something that you wanted to see. You can’t be too careful around machines. Stay safe.

I love my Zero turn mower. I mow about 2.5 acres and it is so easy and relaxing. I also like bushhogging with my Case tractors. Have a '55 VAC and a '58 400B as well as 4 other old Case's that are pretty much retired. Kind of always wanted a Jubilee, just never found a deal that I couldn't pass up.

Get that girl a spinner knob for the steering wheel. Makes turning a lot easier.

The negative post on a battery is supposed to be smaller than the positive so you can tell the difference between positive and negative negative post is little pause the posters big that's why you're negative post is always smaller

I used to use a cicle mower for that, they cut phenomenally good, the only thing I'd add is a frame topper to keep you from burnt too much all great👍👍👍

Hey Tyler and Brittany, you guys are doing a great job... always enjoy your videos. Tyler I've done very similar things as you do for over 50yrs. I have a nice little "Z" scar from a twistaflex watch band (45yrs ago) on my left wrist from an alternator positive to something... and a permanent ring scar (25yrs ago) when my wedding band caught on a ladder bracket after I finished strapping to my truck rack, jumped down and if it hadn't been for my tip toes touching the ground, I fear my finger would be gone. The ring went right to the bone and is now shape like a pear. The ring now hangs on a nail. Jewelry and working men don't go together! It only takes a split second when these accidents happen. My thoughts.

I've drove those tractors and they're simple as can be. I've seen people put old car tires on the front. Got ta look out for creepy crawlies in the grass...

Enjoyed the video, have several ford tractors, be safe and keep your thumbs out of the steering wheel. If you hit a hidden object with the front wheel (with no power steering) it will hurt bad and can break your thumbs!

Thoss are the best tractors ever made, I'd do dialectic grease on those battery terminals cause they will corrode quickly and with humidity makes it faster, I grew up fixing those Ford, Oliver, Alicechalmers, Farmall, cut an made our own gaskets n such

The negative terminal is always smaller. It's how you differentiate between positive and negative if it's not marked.

I have never bush-hogged honestly, but I do love to cut grass. The only problem is that I am highly allergic to grass pollen, so early in the spring, I have to wear a respirator when I mow.

Good old Tractors ! Get a CLUTCHED PTO Adapter so the Bush Hog don't PUSH the Tractor !

Looks like you need an overrunning clutch when using that bushog. The Jubilee doesn't have the larger PTO? I thought they changed that after the 8n? You can get an overrunning clutch that goes from the small PTO to the larger one so you can do away with the adapter. Oh btw, battery terminals are different sizes. Usually the negative is smaller. The safety on the Fords should be the starter button on the transmission. They were originally made to only be able to push down when the trans is in neutral. I enjoy bushogging also. I use a '52 8n for my 5 acres of grass. 👍👍👍

The old Jubilee has a live PTO. Without the proper add on PTO clutch, this tractor will take you for a ride.

Auto parts (and Amazon) carries lead battery post sleeves, also called caps or shims. Put one of those on that Negative terminal and just decide to fix your battery problems. It looks like you've been promising to fix it for a long time. lol

We had one since 1960 only problem we had was lift an that bushhog pushing the tractor around when clutched but one day i hit something an it twisted that pto inside tractor casing. We replaced the pto shaft an got smart an put a slip clutch so that if bushog hit anything that didn't happen again an when you clutched it the bushog would keep turning without pushing tractor into something. An it took pressure off that pto shaft . Rather inexpensive fix an worth every penny
