If the paver operator had you rains your bed and break the load up first before opening your latches it would come out of the truck more controlled rather than an uncontrolled dump and not spill out in front of paver. Definitely not your fault. Paving with a small paver that can't push your truck is why you are pulling forward and back just giving them dumps. Thanks for the content.

Junuary in the PNW. We were driving Green Valley Road in Auburn Saturday afternoon and got caught in the worst downpour I have ever seen since moving to the South Puget Sound area 30+ years ago. Half inch hail mixed into the deluge of water. The only thing missing was a tornado.

I had one paving job where they were doing some really awkward corners in a parking lot and instead of dumping a little bit of asphalt into the paver. They would have us dump it on the ground and then they would scoop it up with a skid steer and load it into the paver that way they could keep us rolling and getting loads.

Almost all of my paving was exactly the same way. We did mostly dirt work but we paved our own jobs unless we were too busy. I really liked paving because it was always an "all hands on deck" situation and I spent nearly as much time on the ground helping to keep things moving along as I did in the seat. When I went to the plant for the first load if I hadn't been in six months or so I would go into the office first to check on procedures. I never got a whole load in one drop like you did but on the other hand your load was a relatively light one.

Hi Daumi! Asphalt is my favorite but OGI Permaflex sux! Which is what we are putting down now. Around here its interstate grade asphalt with loads of tar in it and basically if your not very careful, no matter what you do you bring 8 inches of it home to scrape out with a backhoe. They really should keep a backhoe on the job with a grader blade welded across the teeth to scrape it out every round while its still soft. Some do that but most do not. Cheers! Keep the rubber on the road!

I love the music with the Steel Guitar. As for assault falling out of the spreader.... well that's not your fault if they don't have a guard on it to keep it from falling put. Everyone wants to blame the driver but, it's not ALWAYS the drivers fault. And really does it matter I mean it's going to get compacted ANYWAY & the paver scredes it any way
@AuditRecon
@AuditRecon 12 дней назад
They could just use the loop to scrape it up.
@bradchandler6967
@bradchandler6967 12 дней назад
Well, depending on the size of the spill pile, it can tip the paver around and cause the screed to not lay flat, so they always clean it up before trying to run over it. And that tool used to rake out the mix is called a lute, not loop. And it's absolutely not her fault there was spillage, as she said. Every paver I ever worked with had a flexible flap across the front that prevented that from happening. And yeah, narrow pavers suck to work with because as you turn the body is going sideways in the hopper. You did great as always girl !!!

Hi Dauminique, back in the mid 80's in Fla. I worked for a trucking company (Blackburn Trucking), hauling fill & rock & sometimes we hauled asphalt. We had a solid vinyl (not mesh) tarp when we hauled asphalt. I think it was only required when we hauled for the state highway projects, not for the small parking lots. Pain in the Ass using the tarp. Sometimes we would 5-6 trucks in line waiting for the paving machine. I always felt sorry for the paving guys, almost as bad as commercial roofing with hot tar. Don't be offended by some of the comments, I think it's just some of their own experiences. I looks like paving hasn't changed in 50 years. Only the trucks you drive are a Hell of alot nicer. 😊😊😊😊

Maby have your tailgate chained halfway when on small pavers to slow the flow. And here 🇬🇧 tarmac guys are a grumpy bunch at the best of times😎
