Would be interesting to work out how many litres per acres you use with small out fit and compare with a big out fit?

Would a chain harrowing have helped break it down more as the rotor spreader has a habit of throwing chunks out

Great to see an old tractor still doing a good day's work. Doing the same job as a new one, but at a fraction of the cost.

The massey 100 and 200 series are my favourites! Woukd far rather watch videos of the older tractors than the new ones! Did you put a rear window on the cab? Didn’t think the cabcraft cab came with a window? Also what happened to your doors?

Your ground is also a huge sequester of carbon, as the organic matter will be so high as they are old leys. If you did one of these carbon footprints, I guarantee you are more than carbon natural. It’s what we’ll all end up being payed for in the future, scary but we’ll probably end up making money from “carbon farming”

Richard, I had a Km22 for 20 years....best mower I ever had, so easy to run and fantastic clean cut. Keep it going or buy a new one not a disc. Great channel so honest.

I really like how you prioritize your family. Well done. Its also obvious you care about your farm, not just using it up. Stewardship. I wish more people would think like that.

Interesting vblog. I would have thought there could be some how to install a fan in that cab that could blow on your face like some vehicles install that are clip on. Or you could wear shorts 🤔 😜 🤷

Hi mate that sound of that old deutz Farr mower brought back memories we had a 6ft 6 deutz Farr on back of an international 574 that was 25 years ago when we were farming 100 acres 70 milkers and followers sadly farm long gone now ,I still miss it good videos 👍

KM 22 was a great mower, I used one for years and still do. Lovely hum from them. I think the belts need to tightened a small bit. New drum Mowers are just not made the same anymore. Nice work funky.😁🤙

Awesome video as always ritchard. That’s one hell of a crop of grass mate. Always enjoy mowing videos, so keep um coming. Fantastic to see so many different plants in one place, even if some of them are weeds. Thanks for sharing mate.

Brings back memories for me . I cut a lot of acres with a KM22 1977/78 . Used to do 3 to 3.5 acres an hr with smallish tractor (Ford 4000 ) . Later Ford 6600 almost too big for it . Then we had Taarup 305 with conditioner .

All you need is a couple of Clydales grazing on your land and your farm land would be perfect , a few old ewes , nothing would go to waste , your farm would be a paradise for wildlife n butterflys etc ,these experts arent always right Richard lol

@thefunkyfarmer
@thefunkyfarmer 2 года назад
about 120
@glennlingard7851
@glennlingard7851 2 года назад
They do bloody well for 120 acres, remember there’s two families living off that but the key thing is the fact they milk, on a small acreage it just shows you milking cows can support them, you’ll also understand that they manage with what they’ve got for tractors and machinery rather than spending on expensive new fancy equipment, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that🙂

Sounding a lot better this time cutting grass. When the boys get older you might be a lot cheaper spot spraying the thistles and docs if you can send them out with a backpack sprayer or something similar

why dont you put the pto into gear before you lower the mower, that will reduce the strain on the machine.

Lovely lot of hay there, a lot more farmers cutting for hay this year too, seen a lot of fields cut and the grass looks a lot drier than it would for silage. I am also wondering where the hell the years have gone with my 2, Amy going upto year 10 in September and Les into year 7 just like Harry, is Jack in Year 9 or going upto year 9?
