This is my Bosch lawnmower that is still going strong after 12 years without any maintenance or a new blade. This particular model was actually made in the UK, but I expect they are made in China now.
Your lawn looks so lush and luxurious Roger. I’m so glad that I went electric three years ago. I use a manual reel mower every three days and use the cordless rotary twice every month to vacuum everything up including the mulch clippings from the last month and start all over. It’s been much easier not maintaining a gas/petrol mower’s engine of stopping at a fuel pump to fill gas can.
Really similar to the one we have. We’ve had ours for absolutely years and still works as well as day one and still is in superb condition. Blade’s still nice and sharp as well.
Roger, the best height for our lawns to be cut at, is 3". In fact, that in actuality, is the healthiest height for the grass itself! I love the way your lawn looks, after cutting it down to the 3" height!
That's excellent! I have an Ego 21in battery mower that I've used for going on 3 years now and it's done a very good job on the areas of my lawn that are too big for the larger riding mower on my 1 acre of land. All I do is sharpen the blade a couple times a season and wash it when it's dirty.
I love mowing the lawn it’s so satisfying the difference between a untidy lawn and manicured lawn. Unfortunately our grass quality is poor so not as satisfying as some. I live on farm land so I have a ride on mower which is fun to use, but I get the best satisfaction using the catcher on the push mower. Also I’m jealous on how green and lush your lawn is.
I have had one of those for donkeys years, still works as good now as then, if I went up and down the same cut twice as you do I would be walking 5 miles if I did the front as well it would be 7 miles
🧐… interesting that he mows over the cut strip 2x, I don’t ~ possibly because my dad taught me how to mow the lawn with a petrol cylinder blade lawnmower with rear roller ~ those are more strict with mowing technique; you only mow in one direction to get that desired “striped” effect and must alternate direction every mow to prevent “washerboarding” from occurring/the grass blades being permanently bent over in one direction. We now have a petrol rotary blade mower, I mostly mow from the end of the garden - where the shed is that the mower is stored in, and I carry the grass box though the house (terraced, Victorian) to the front to be emptied into the “garden waste” wheelie bin.
