We recently spent a weekend in Virginia Beach as the summer drew to a close. We were very excited to stay at a new hotel that just opened up a couple months ago along the Virginia Beach boardwalk - the Moxy Virginia Beach Oceanfront. The was one of the most unique hotels we have ever visited. We take you on a tour of our room and all the public spaces and share our reactions. We'll also discuss the hotel's bar, restaurant, pool and pricing. Moxy Hotels is a brand created by Marriott International that began in Milan, Italy a few years ago and is now spreading to tourist areas around the world. Geared towards millenials who are into social media, this hotel features modern gathering places with little surprises around every corner. We'll let you know what we thought of our first stay at a Moxy hotel in this video.

Ohhh niiice! What a beautiful way to spend your last days of summer… Marriot is a fave hotel. I’d enjoy this place. It does have that European vibe. I don’t drink much anymore but the drinks looked yummy! 😋 The showers look very nice. That’s a busy beach!!! 🌊🌊🌊 I can see why! So pretty! 😍 Have a wonderful upcoming weekend dear Alice and Jack!!!❤❤

This is a really stylish hotel. I love the decorations, the bar area, and how they have the slide that reminds me of The Hangout at Myrtle Beach. Sucks that you have to pay for breakfast and it not be at least a little special. The dining room did look welcoming, though. The pool was really nice. I love the way the loungers were surrounded by water. So unique. The shower in the hotel room reminds me of my shower at home. I love it!! My only gripe is that the water coming from the head is too wide, and It's inconvenient to have to use the hand piece to rinse off with. That, and it's such a pain to clean. I dread it. Other than that, there were some really nice common areas. The outside area with the corn hole boards seemed like a good place spend some time. Another excellent video!!

A Lovely hotel and I loved the amenities. I hate when people correct people's pronunciation, it irks me! Great views overlooking the beach. What a great Hotel. Hopefully the pool is heated! Thank you for the tour Alic and Jack. Have a great week. 👍🏼🙏🏼🤠❤

I remember going to the Belvedere and having a Ray Ray(now called the eye opener) and people would bring their own homegrown tomatoes.

Cool vibe at this hotel. I had some inflatable chairs in my classroom one year. lol The Hilton Tru we stayed at in Pigeon Forge didn't have a closet either. I've never seen the beds set up like this room before. The Belvedere Hotel was torn down a few years ago and I thought the restaurant was too. It's great that they opened the Belvedere Diner in their hotel. Great video!

What a fun experience! Interesting room setup! We aren't vacation unpackers LOL!! Ocean front hotels aren't cheap! But you are right it is well worth it to sign up for Marriott Bonvoy Rewards!

I loved Viginia beach. I was there many years ago. Nice room tour. Interesting that there were no closets. Love that bathroom and that vintage phone. Great views from the room. The Moxy Virginia Beach Oceanfront looks like a very nice place to stay. Thanks for hotel review. Have a great week.

I've been pronouncing Marriot wrong all my life and I never knew, Jack and Alice! Hadn't heard of the Moxy Hotels either. Looks like a nice place, but it was interesting seeing the pegs and unusual bed location. Bunk queen beds in the dual layout too. 4 Queens is almost always a winning hand! But in a motel room it may get a little crowded. The price though. We'll visit in the winter. Thermal bathing suits and all!

Yeah, almost everyone we know (including ourselves) has been pronouncing Marriott wrong. It is kind of weird that they bothered coming out and trying to correct everyone. But they certainly went on a PR spree a couple years ago trying to correct people. It would be like if Jack came home one day and said, "By the way, my name is actually pronounced Jacques. You've been pronouncing it wrong all along." But anyway - this was a nice hotel with some unique ideas. I don't expect many of them to catch on... But it was interesting to see. Thanks for watching!

Wow! What a beautiful spot and so nice to be near the beach. Such nice seating in the lobby, I love the garage door! Such a nice touch to have lockers for your luggage while you wait for your room to be ready. So fun on the inflatable chairs haha! Nice room! So nice to have drawers under the beds, that’s me, a vacation unpacker LOL! 😂 nice the safe is in a drawer too. The bunk bed rooms look fun too haha. Lovely pool area. The seats in the shallow section are cool! Looks like a great spot to stay! Awesome tour 😊

Moxy brand is great. I've stayed in their Germany location a few times near Frankfurt. Wow a slide coming soon! The balcony view location is probably the best feature!

Definitely would've liked a hotel like this in my 20s. Can't say I'd stay somewhere like this now. But can't beat the view for sure.

I checked out the US locations after watching this video and was surprised to learn that there is one in Minneapolis. If I've seen it, I didn't notice! It's a very interesting design. I don't really care for it, but I wonder if my kids might think it's cool.

Never knew I was pronouncing Marriott wrong this whole time. Usually my go to work hotel. This one is totally different and reminds me more of a google office type experience with the indoor slide. Amazing view you have there but weird how the bed is set up. Melissa would love to use the Chips and Rosalie the pool regardless of temp.

That has got to be the smallest room and pool I have ever seen and to charge to park. No fridg. Out of ice buckets, Though it does have a neat vibe, Hard pass on this place especially at that price.

Yeah, I thought the whole point of having a "hostel style" hotel was that you would pay less since the rooms were small and there were some common amenities missing. But nope - it still costs the same as most of the other oceanfront hotels. It was fun. But it was too expensive for the experience you get. Thanks for watching!
