Thank you for all the work you do bringing those of us who love MB and the surrounding area all the latest and greatest updates and happenings! Agreed it's not somewhere I would go personally other than maybe to show it once it opens. I am glad the church is not going to be demolished though.

Lots happening early this year, sad it's more focused on drinking instead of family oriented. Keep closing all the nice family places. I do have to say captains quarters is one of the few that will rent to locals. Room includes 1 hour bowl per person per day and last time we stayed, it included breakfast.

The last time my wife and I took our girls at Myrtle Beach was in 2022! Where looking for the right condo ! And probably in August! Thank you 🙏 Carmen for this update! And what’s new.! Is there anything fun to do ?? Where is the Starbucks in Myrtle Beach ??

There are a ton of fun things to do! If you go to our main channel page on RU-vid we have the ultimate guide to Myrtle Beach right on the front page which will give you a lot of ideas. There are a ton of Starbucks in Myrtle Beach, so I suggest using Google Maps to look up Starbucks once you're in the area find the closest one to where you're staying. Have a great trip!

This popped up as a cheap place to live for senior's,so I started looking for videos of the area,what's the rent like in the area,looks safe and clean.

I'm not familiar with current rental rates. I would check with a local realtor who specializes in rentals. Some areas are safer than others so I'd ask the realtor about that as well. Best of luck to you with your move!

I'm all about making Myrtle Beach better but turning a church building into a bar/beer garden just seems wrong. I understand they'll have other things also but seems like there could have been a better choice. Just my opinion so don't slam me.

I completely understand. When I first heard about it sometime ago I had a similar thought as well. But I am glad to see the building being preserved rather than torn down.

A Hugh draw for families and other shops by it would be a Benihana Restaurant there. It would be the first one in the state.

I would look at either North Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, or Garden City Beach.

The response I got from Captains Quarters is Level 6 is closed for 2024. It doesn't sound like they even know what will be available for guests next summer.

Well hello, I have a Westgate trip to use up by the end of this year and I am considering the Westgate property at 415 S Ocean Blvd. My wife has time at the end of April and have not been to South Carolina. Looks like the weather is getting warmer but the ocean is still a bit chilly. Would you recommend this hotel and time of year? Doesn't look to far from the boardwalk. Are there enough things to do like hiking and sight seeing for 5 days? Thanks in advance. Any additional info is appreciated!

There are a ton of things to do here, definitely enough for 5 days or more. If you like to hike it might be worth checking out Huntington Beach State Park and Myrtle Beach State Park (they do both have a fee). We haven't stayed at that resort so hard to comment on that but trip advisor is usually a decent place to research a hotel. Time of year there will be cool days but also very nice days. It just varies a lot that time of the year. We hope you have an amazing first trip to SC!

I would recommend a rental car. Otherwise you'll miss out on a lot of fun things to do. Uber is hit or miss. There is a cheap and/or free bus route with the RTA but it only runs in the summer usually - it runs down hotel row and then to some attractions. Both state parks you'd need to drive to, Broadway at the Beach, Barefoot Landing, etc.

Carmen; We have never been to Myrtle Beach so I have a naieve question. I like BIG WAVES, does Myrtle Beach get big waves??? And can you name 3 or 4 places to stay that are OCEAN FRONT with balcony's????

Not like Hawaii big, but if the weather is bad (storm, hurricane, etc) we can get bigger waves. The only ocean front hotel we've stayed in is the Marriott Residence Inn. I'd check trip advisor for ratings and reviews. We hope you have a great trip!
