Moza R9v2, amazing wheelbase, no concerns, and constant software updates, fixes and upgrades.

Bought the Moza r3 bundle five weeks ago, never used a wheel setup before so didn’t want to spend a lot of money for my first one. At first I thought I’d made a big mistake but, I stuck at it and many hours of trolling through RU-vid videos I found the perfect settings (for me). I absolutely love it and will be upgrading my base in the near future. Moza discord channel is a must, loads of tips, advice and tech issues discussed. Moza gets five stars from me.

By no means a long-term review, but I purchased the Moza R5 base, wheel, pedal and desk mount bundle to replace my Logitech G920 six months ago. It's been flawless. Moza's softwear Pithouse is regularly updated and works well.

Had my Moza R9 v2 for over a year. Got a KS wheel earlier this year. I’ve not had a single issue and I use mine every day for 1 to 3 hours. Highly recommended from me… 👍🏻 Actually considering the R16, if money allows.

I bought My Cammus C5 on last Black Friday sales, so it has been almost 10 months. It looks great on my GTOmega Prime Lite . I have been using it almost daily and I have not had a single issue with it. The force feedback is fanastic, very responsive and strong. The shifters are not a problem at all and you get used to the small size surprisingly quickly. The wheel rim is still in perfect state. What a great product. The software and firmware gets continously updated with new features. I have never had that need to get better settings like many Moza users seem to have. It just feels great. Apparently because it is extremely responsive I remember that LMU felt off, it felt very grainy , but I just found out that you could smooth the noise from LMU itself and then it is perfect. No regrets at all. No temptations on getting any new wheel or base. I will save the money to get some decent pedals because my TLCM are not up the standard of the C5.

bought a moza R5 setup with lite pedals and it is a splendid thing , first you'll click the es wheel in on its quick release mount and it slots in beautifully with a solid reassuring thunk , as an engineer i appreciate stuff like that , the feedback was brutal as i expected from my first DD wheelbase and yes being an r5 im being slightly hyperbolic but its a step change from G25/G27 etc and so even as a baby direct drive the r5 impresses , one of the bases big letdowns is forza support as the horizon series need some messing about with files microsoft hide etc etc ... they do not want you to freethink and play their game except how they decide ... but theres an easy compatability mode in mozas pithouse which works okish but only as a 90 degree each way wheel but is what it is .... buy this and your going to be living on assetto corsa and competitione and your going to love it , moza may be new but they are pushing a lot of product , long term i cant say being in the honeymoon phase of ownership but im impressed , a week later i bought a gtomega recliner and harness off gumtree for £50 .... we can see where this is going cant we , and the bonus is the missus also loves to just mess on the wheel and drive round in a quattro sport ... thats impressive is converting a female 😇

I've had CRP pedals since they revised the early models and I have not been overly happy. The pivot bolts are corroded badly, came with little grease and are hard to remove. The yellow spring cannot be changed to the red one (the eyelet bolt will not come out despite having followed the instructions to add a bit of spring compression, then not) ... I never bothered to reach out as the pedals worked, but the limited adjustability made the $500 cost hard to swallow. People warned me to get others but I wanted to keep the main ecosystem. I see now they released second gen version finally despite upgrading all the wheelbases to V2 etc. The ffb pedals Moza Boost seem cool, and generally my R9 (v1) and GS V1 wheel (later added an RS v2 leather because the local shop had one for a stupidly cheap price.. thought it was a mistake!) .. I can now rally drive (which I dont' do as much, so would I have paid full price for it? No) . The R9 was a HUGE upgrade from G29, but I find the sweetspot might be R12 and up. I am considering an R1 because I wish I could drive older F1 cars in AMS2 with a round wheel at a higher setting than my R9 allows witht he heavy wheel. It clips a LOT. Otherwise, Moza has been fine. The main frustration is a gripe - they update the software every second a new product comes out and I'm always updating software it seems. I have way more software crashes where their Moza app will just shutdown and have to be relaunched. THis never happened back in the early days. Now I have a crash report almost every time I turn wheel base on and have to relaunch. Overall 7/10 experience.

Have had my R12 and CS V2 for almost a year now and no problems to report. I am very pleased with it. Also they update their firmware and drivers often and fixed a gripe of mine recently (certain button combination changed the wheel rotation degrees and that can now be turned off). Plus now the rev lights can be turned to yellow flag indicators or blue flag indicators if you so wish to do.

The Moza R5 bundle has been a super solid setup for me for the last 3 months or so. I dont use the stock wheel (the NRG Gen 2 QR works on the R5) but overall it's great for drifting. I had to do a little digging for some settings and how to properly calibrate the sr-p lite pedals but after that, I was off to the races. I will probably get the R9 but the R5 is a fantastic beginner DD wheel. The pedals are not super compatible with every pedal plate if you put it on a rig though. I have the two rear screws in (the ones that go in the pedals) and could not bolt down the front on my Marada X Frame. Other than that, the Moza ecosystem is mildly cheap and expensive at the same time to get into if you want some of the accessories, but you cannot go wrong with the wheelbase IMO

I have the Moza R9v2, sgp shifter, hgp handbrake, srp pedals. No issues with the quality what so ever, but the feedback has been an issue in titles like iRacing and EA WRC. It seems Moza are on the right track now tho with a beta firmware that seems to be working much better. Overall, very happy with Moza, and will continue to use their products for a while :)

I have both a Moza R5 and a Cammus C5..... For the Moza, the constant search for the "right settings" was overly frustrating and just completely ruined the entire experience for me. With the Cammus C5, it literally took me 2 days to get it tuned exactly how I want it and I haven't had to touch the software since. I spent about 4 months with the Moza R5....and I've been using the Cammus C5 for almost 11 months now. The Cammus software is quite simple. You have 4 primary settings and that's it. With the Pithouse software you have more than a dozen settings, most of which have no reason to exist if you're actually looking for realism.

I've only had my R9 base, CS V2 wheel and SR-P pedeals for 6 months now, but after about 180 hours (and £341) worth of iRacing later, no issues to report. I've used gloves from day 1, and have no signs of wear or tear on my wheel. Planning on getting the GS V2P GT wheel soon as I could do with a few extra buttons and dials close to hand while racing. As it stands, planning on getting an R21 base in a year or so when I have space for a full profile rig.

Came from Logitec G29. Got the Moza R5 bundle, with the clutch pedal and performance brake kit. Got buyer's remorse because I wanted something more powerful so bought the R12 wheel base. I now use the R12 with the original bundled pedals and ES wheel. I have updated the bundled ES wheel with Moza's round wheel mod. I also got Alien Mod's load-cell mod for the brake pedal. And lastly I got the Moza KS (GT style) wheel, plus the SSH shifter from SHH. I now feel I have a complete setup. (I am going to get a second ES wheel and SR-P lite pedals set to make a spare.) The quality of the parts that I have looked at when modding look fab and neat. The ffb, compared to the G29, is night and day. And I mean night and day. When I got the R5 I nearly cried it was so pure. The only little doubt I have is that the high end DD wheels have 18Bit encoders compared to the mid to low end DDs like the R12, which have a 16Bit one. Maybe @Karl Gosling could elaborate a bit ('scuse the pun) on this?

Not a long term review but some info that some might find helpful. I got the R5 bundle to replace my Thrustmaster T300. I got it back when GT5 came out and it was starting to show it's age. I wanted to upgrade to a DD wheel. I live in Canada and to import a Fanatec would be over $1300 cdn and that was just too steep for me. I heard good things about the MOZA wheel and that with the Res1ution2 it worked with a PS5 and GT7. So $700 later', that includes the adapter, I have a new set up. the first thing you MUST DO is the updates. It will not work properly with out them. It took me about a hour to get the settings the way i wanted. Yes not all of the buttons work and the LED bar is not functional but I don't mind. I have my controller set up to fill in the blanks. I'm use to a belt drive system and it had a slight delay from input to action in game so I found that I was turning in a little early and had to correct my line. So far I have had zero problems and look forward to the hours of racing. Now if they can become PlayStation compatible I would be a happy camper.

owner of Moza R9 + RS wheel, both in V2 version, since January 2023. I use it quite occasionally (about once or twice a week) but when I use it I do it for many consecutive hours, I have never had problems with heating or decay of the Force Feedback. The feel of the steering wheel is as it was on day one (I use mechanic's gloves, nothing particularly specific). The motor once fell against the furniture along with the entire Playseat Challenge (the center of gravity of the station with the moza mounted is not particularly favourable) and although the external body was dented (it hit a rather sharp metal handle) it did not had operating problems (this was about a year ago). As far as I'm concerned, I'm fully satisfied, even if within the community I frequent there have been cases of malfunctions under warranty with replacement of the base by the local importer (Italian, in my case) which caused a bit of confusion sending V2 bases to people with V1 racing wheels that weren't compatible, but the problems were usually solved by handling the issue directly with moza and bypassing the importer (the Italian importer handles both simagic and moza, but seems to push simagic a lot, even at the customer support, leaving aside moza). I see that the translator is making a bit of confusion but I hope it's understandable, unfortunately I'm in a hurry and it would take too long to write in decent English 😓

Bought the Moza R12 and KS wheel almost 6 months ago, great ffb and amazing quality haven't had a single issue. Sure like any base it can become bad if you set it up wrongly but once you tinker or find good settings it has nothing to envy from simagic, fanatec or Asetek despite the 15bit encoder. Now that the NextGen 3.0 ffb is about to release and undergoing public beta testing it has become even better. Plenty of help can be had on the community discord in case it was needed, which is one of the most active from my experience. KS wheel is also very nice but rims have more to do with your budget than the base imo. Anyway would definitely recommend.

Moza R12 base, v2 CS wheel, CRP pedals, works awesome without any issues at all owned since feb 2024 and play ATS/ETS2 and likely around 300hrs+ in that time frame. Moza HGP shifter purchased in Dec 2023 and although i dont blame the device or manufacturer it began having issues finding neutral and i replaced it with a thrustmaster TH8A. As noted i play only trucking games and had outfitted an aftermarket 18 speed shift knob on top of the HGP and the additional leverage may have caused the shifters sensors to malfunction, however, been using the same setup with the Thrustmaster since Feb without any issue.

Cammus C5 user. I've had my unit for just over 11 months now. I replaced my Thrustmaster TX and couldn't have been happier with the results. DD was definitely worth the upgrade. I've not had any mechanical issues with the wheel, but I did break the shifters about 6 weeks ago. As many will attest, the design of the shifters was not very good to start with. However, when I experienced the failure, I emailed Cammus and had a resolution within the same day. Because I do not own a 3D printer, they mailed replacement parts to me free of charge and I was able to be back up and racing within 2 weeks. I'm now considering replacing the C5 with the C12, mainly due to my limited desk space. If I had a proper rig, I'd definitely consider giving the Moza R12 a try.

I’ve had my Cammus DDWB 15Nm is still running strong over 2yrs now. It’s been great. I use it weekly and I added the Moza KS and Moza Hub because the Cammus wheelbase is ecosystem free. It uses a NRG style quick release. I got the GT bundle with base, wheel, and 3 pedals for $829 + shipping. A great bang for the buck. Software is nothing special but it works. I've had Moza R9 with GS and CS wheels for 18 months now and i don't have much negative to say. Only minor issue i have is the left thumbstick on the GS wheel has become overly sensitive on the right input. So i can't map anything on it so i use it only for up and down in the pit menu and right thumbstick for left-right. Works better this way too actually because it's very easy to make wrong inputs while driving if all the inputs are on the same thumbstick. Overall i'm very very happy with my Moza base and wheels. Software is very good, ffb is detailed and feels strong enough, both wheels are very good quality and they are competitively priced too. I use Asetek pedals so I can't comment on those but at least I didn't get mortally wounded. ;)

I've had my Moza R9 v1, CS, SRP pedals for about 3 years and was a early adopter. Honestly, Moza have gone from strength to strength. 0 hardware issues, so much so, I now have a HBP handbrake and KS wheel. The only consistent issue is firmware upgrades always tend to have minor issues. But it's easy to roll back and use successfully. The software is now great and easy to use with more options added almost every month. I would highly recommend them for mid tier hardware. 3 years in and I feel I do not need to upgrade. I only upgraded the pedals to Simsonn pro pedals, which have also been fantastic.

I purchased my Moza R5 bundle in February, brand new after purchasing the G923 brand new in December of last year. My Moza bundle has worked VERY WELL. I have had only one issue and that was the break pedal lost its calibration. I updated the software and recalibrated it and has worked perfect since. My ONLY recommendation is to get the "Brake Performance kit" form the get go. Also, I would recommend the "Load Cell" Mod from Alien - Mods as this will give you a "Load Cell" brake for right at 110.00,, 30.00 for the brake KIT AND 60.00=20.00 for the Load Cell Mod. Other than that, I am VERY happy with my choice. I hope this helps.

Equally important to me is aftersales service if things do go wrong. When I wanted to move on from my Logitech g29 (which served me well, for over 4 years) I originally wanted to go for Cammus, simply because they offered very good value. Was ready to order but then I realized that they don't ship to my country (We are not in the EU, so they ship to every country around mine but not to this one :D). So I went with Moza instead (Fanatec was out of stock on the base I wanted xD). First I wanted to buy the R5 bundle but then I realized that would be kind of a side-grade, so finally I got the R9 V2, SR-P load-cell pedals and standard ES wheel. Which came in only around 200$ more than the R5 bundle. Absolutely happy with my purchase. The software is very good. So far I could tune the base exactly to my liking in every game I play and it feels so good to drive. This is not a very long term experience but everything is built solid and felt great out of the box. Like "perfect+ quality. Wheel wasn't expensive either but feels like a real car to me. The only thing I'm worried about is the plate of my simrig where the wheelbase is bolted on to when I turn up the Nm xD As an aside: When I turn my R9 up to the max I literally can't drive it's so heavy. Can't imagine how people manage anything stronger... But I hear it's about detail not just power? Anyway I use it around 80% max and then also turn down the forces in-game.

I completely disagree with you about the Cammus pedals (at least the V2 version) for the money you can't beat them. Yes, they do require a little DIY to get properly tuned in . I only paid $300 for them. No problems, updates are easy, adjustments are easy. You can even use off the shelf parts. I moved my Fanatec CSL pedals to another ring, and every time someone comes over they want the drive the rig with the Cammus Pedals.

I think we are talking about two different pedal sets, watch my C5 review to see the pedals I'm referring to.

@@KarlGosling I have watched every one of your videos since you did the Dirty Rally 2.0 videos. For some reason, I thought you reviewed the CAMMUS LC100 pedals? CAMMUS should send you some.

Watched an older review...Moza R9 & GS GT Wheel Review - As Good As They Say?...by you a year ago and pulled moza apart, all for fanatec...now fanatec is erm...not doing well, your all of favour wanting reviews,i got the email too from moza asking for reviewers, and as you did the same with cammus...most sim racers dont have wads of cash to spend on rigs, nor sponsored by them, ive had logitec, used fanatec and have moza, and ive been happy for the past 2 years with what i got...some people are just swayed by free stuff :)

The review was just comparing what I had to hand that was around the same price point, I'm not in favour of any manufacturer really (Asetek do seem to be up there with quality right now though), I do not get anything for free and I am not sponsored or paid for reviews either. "i got the email too from moza asking for reviewers, and as you did the same with cammus" I have no idea what you mean, I did not receive any emails.

Well this video hasn't gone according to plan, hey Carl? You, who holds a grudge with Moza (because they want nothing to do with you), were hoping that all the comments here from Moza users would be negative experiences. Instead, 99% of Moza users here are very happy with their products. You've failed to bring Moza down and now you have egg in your face! Now I DARE YOU to do a video titled: 'Fanatec Owners... We Need YOU!'

What on earth are you talking about?! This has to be the most ridiculous comment I've ever read! 😆 I have no issue with any manufacturer... a good product nets a good review, a bad product a bad review simple.

@@KarlGosling mmm, so based on your analogy, R9 wheelbase is a 'bad product'? That's what you are saying, right? Yet, 99% of R9 users here say that it's a 'GOOD' product. Everyone here has proved you WRONG. Come on mate, be a MAN and admit it, you hate Moza and you are a puppet of Fanatec. PS. I look forward to your ''Fanatec Owners... We Need YOU!' video.
