Thank you, I'm looking around trying to find my first wheel and I want to get something good, and, I think fanatec is gonna be my choice, so thanks for helping me look at options.
How do you run them at 1440p? I have 3 lg c2 48” and would love to try. I cant figure out how to. It always puts the black bar to and bottom of image. Do you stretch the image to fit the native size?
as a first setup, the 300rs with an optional 8A shifter seems like a really good deal to me ... especially if you have kids that need to understand to use them a little bit more ... gently ... fanatec has filed for bankruptcy i wouldn't trust them with anything
Hi Karl. I just want to ask if there will be issues with the seat upgrade adjustability because I'm just 5'5" lol. I know you're around 6 feet as well as the other guy who reviewed the DDX said that the seat was kind of low. There are no sources pointing out how low the wheel adjustment would go with the shifter mount as well. I'm really hoping you read this. :))
I used to own a playseat evolution. I upgraded to a sim lab gt1 pro. I think no one should ever buy one of these cheap flexible frames if they seriously want to race. They are genuinely chinese crap compared to an extrusion rig. It isnt just the flex that the issue, it is impossible to adjust these to where you want it and that ergonomically fits you. And the post gets in the way if you are using three pedals. The seat being flexible will make it almost impossible to be consistent on the brake, you really want a firm support for your lower back. I would buy this for a child that just wants to drive around in forza on a logitech, not for anything serious. Although when I have a child I will buy him/her an extrusion rig if they are interested in racing
The word "seriously" is exactly the one mate, this is more of a "toy" setup or for those that literally can't justify or have the money for anything else... it's till better than using a controller.
Hi Karl I’ve literally just purchased 3 x msi 32in 1440p monitors. Then I found this video. I watch your videos a lot for reviews and I’m not sure whether to be disappointed or not. My main concern going from a large 4k tv to a smaller screen was indeed the size comparison but thought I’d adjust to the smaller screen. Especially given that I’ve gone from a single screen to triples. This video though makes me nervous about the cockpit view for ACC. I want to be excited about getting triples. Will I still be happy when I’m in the seat with the 32inch triples? For now I literally can’t go any bigger due to space. Thanks for the great videos and content you provide us with.
With smaller displays you can bring them closer to you which will fill your field of view more so I don't think you will be disappointed, but of course there's no substitute for size and being able to look fully left/right as cars come along side you.
It wasn't a great option at review mate, lacks adjustability and was expensive... if it's cheaper now and you are happy with the fixed seat then it might be a decent upgrade?
Hi Karl I am looking at a site called RACE anywhere have you heard of them. I am interested in a rig they have its called PSR1 priced at £ 584.80 . The seats are a bit pricey , hence i am looking at the seats in your video could you advise me if these omega seats are universal and would fit this PSR1 sim rig. Maybe you could make a video regarding this company possibly. Thanks Karl in advance any information would be greatly taken on board my simple brain . Cheers
Karl great review btw, what tends to happen is that major brands who cannot shift enough stock let other distributors rebrand and at a massive reduction of the cost! But, as for warranty it can be limited, but essentially you could be getting a bargain!
You made a great job here. I made a brazilian rewiew and it is going good, people around here likes more affordable stuff. And as i said on my video, for those who are starting on the sim racing and want a complete experience, this would be a good choice! But for those who want to play really racing games instead of euro truck, the g29 should be considered!
You're obviously new here! lol Did you see me show you how wobbly the wheel deck is? How much the pedal tray flexes and say how uncomfortable the seat is?!
Hey, been watching your content for the past year and used your discount code for gt omega so huge thanks. What have you used to create the black backdrops from the tv screens? Im just creating a roof then moving onto the sides. I was thinking some black cloth with velcro but it means attaching it to the new monitors.
Hi Karl great video was looking at these cockpit to further enjoy racing sims. How would you compare it to the GT omega Titan? Also is the Titan slightly smaller foot print?
As an Engineer and Electrician, I built my own rig using a skyline R33 bucket seat & E brake & bought a cheap frame but chopped it up & made it better, wired the circle button to a plug for the E brake then added the wheel pedals & shifter, I hid all of the wires inside the frame pipes & made sure it has adjustments, I love it & do not at all fancy buying a flash pre built one.
Nice to see a cheaper rig tested, not all of us have the cash or room for a full rig, I only have a NLR wheel stand 2 & G923, ACC, AMS2, Dirt rally2 etc. Started off with GP1 & Thrustmaster wheel years ago
I do try to cover all options but it's rare the really low end stuff comes my way and there's a lot of Chinese tat out there that just shouldn't be considered.
Sure it wobbles! That's called "motion platform" for us that are not spending 10k on a racing sim setup. I might get this. I own a welder I can re-enforce it.
Your comments about time consuming adjustments when other people drive saved me from buying this. It makes it tough to get in and out of too. I like exposing others to the experience. I also like that you named several other models for me to consider. Well done, and I thank you.!
Do you think this would work ok with the fanatic CSL pedals LC aswel. Don’t have a rig at the moment but looking to get fanatec entry level stuff and need foldable seat. Not sure if the resistant pedals would add to much instability but form the video here it seems pretty stable
Karl have you tested it the SIMETIK K1 or K3 sim rigs? Interested to see how they compare to some of the other rigs in the price range. Look the part but as we know looks can be deceiving
I wanna trust PXN cus they usually have competitive pricing but I tried out their mixbox and it really dissapointed me. The keys were too loud and clicky for what were supposed to be keys for fighting games and the switches were soldered into the PCU and didn't allow hot swapping which is the standard for ALL fightsticks. I can imagine their steering wheels are similarly dissapointing.
I have both a Moza R5 and a Cammus C5..... For the Moza, the constant search for the "right settings" was overly frustrating and just completely ruined the entire experience for me. With the Cammus C5, it literally took me 2 days to get it tuned exactly how I want it and I haven't had to touch the software since. I spent about 4 months with the Moza R5....and I've been using the Cammus C5 for almost 11 months now. The Cammus software is quite simple. You have 4 primary settings and that's it. With the Pithouse software you have more than a dozen settings, most of which have no reason to exist if you're actually looking for realism.
I'm really confused. I really want to order the apex rear seat frame with a GT Omega chair but on Reddit I see most people are not positive about the chairs. Maybe it's just Redditors complaining, I don''t know,,
