The 2012 Alan Fraser Piano Institute held in Salt Lake City brought together eight pianists for a week's intensive work designed to create a breakthrough in their piano technique. Feldenkrais lessons every day, lectures, and of course, work at the piano.
This lesson shows how Fraser lavishes the same detailed attention on any student no matter what their level, and how the principles of "skeletal piano playing" can help any pianist transcend what they thought was possible for themselves.
Here we see how one theme, activating the lumbrical and interosseous, comes in many different versions depending on the musical and technical demands of the composition.
