Don't forget the wonderful oboist! Sabine Devieilhe has, of course, that special gift which is necessary for this stratospherically difficult work - the upper range and the ability to spin accurately with great artistry. Apart from that technique, it is a physical gift, like an athlete. A wonderful, wonderful voice in so many respects, and the lower chest register will gain in time. Trust the French to appreciate the brillliance of this!
Questa cantante è come un usignolo. La voce di soave dolcezza, la capacità di colorire ogni singola nota, la dizione perfetta, la chiarezza nel cantare i piano, e poi la parte più veloce ed energica.
Pourquoi toujours comparer les interprètes ? Chaque chanteur( euse) a sa personnalité, sa façon d'approcher l'oeuvre, de l'interpréter ... pour moi c'est évident. Sabine Devieilhe est magnifique comme d'autres l'ont été avant elle, et comme d'autres le seront.
Une soprano très aigüe et cependant toute en douceur, ce qui n'était pas évident, sur le fil des pizzicati et de la clarinette... avec cet étonnant saut (réussi) du grave au plus aigüe possible vers 6mn 45... Bravo Sabine Devieilhe, interprétation magique !
Attention : cet enregistrement TV n'est pas impeccable, il y a du souffle. Il faut comparer ce qui est comparable et ne pas confronter pour comptant cette version à une prise en studio épurée au montage.
Intéressant de voir un air pas du tout réussi par Sabine Devieilhe qui est pourtant excellente dans le baroque et dans son disque Mozart avec Pynchon et Pygmalion.
Domi R. I won't argue that point Domi. Many years ago at her last performance with the SF Opera she was performing "Daughter of the Regiment and the chorus members came up with a name for her, "the _____from the front." Nevertheless, she had a beautiful voice, not so much now.
