The MP 41 submachinegun was developed by famous German small arms designer Hugo Schmeisser at C.G. Haenel in Suhl, Germany in the very early 1940s. The weapon is a essentially a hybrid of the MP 28, II and MP 40 submachineguns, borrowing components and mechanics from both firearms. Like the MP 28, II, the MP 41 features a wooden stock and select-fire capability due to its similarly complicated fire-control mechanism. While the MP 41's bolt, magazine housing assembly, magazine and telescopic recoil spring assembly are very similar to the corresponding MP 40 components.
Haenel initially manufactured and delivered 26,000 MP 41s to German ally Romania in 1941. Later on, at least 2,300 guns were delivered to Bulgarian police units and several thousand additional guns were delivered to German police & SS units, Croatia and the German Army & Volkssturm in 1945. The MP 41 was never formally adopted by the Wehrmacht, but chronic small arms shortages during the war ensured that at least a small number of MP 41s made it into regular German military use. Because of low production numbers, the MP 41 is relatively rare weapon, especially when compared to MP 40.
The MP 41 is pleasant to shoot and could be accurately described as handling and shooting like a wooden-stocked MP 40.

Weren’t they produced after the war too? I’m not too sure but I vaguely remember them being in service in both Germanies and in Romania
