If you wonder if MPB.com is any good or are there any problems - you might want to see this.
I ain't all that bad, actually they are quite good at some things but there some glaring issues they need to take control over or their reputation and in turn business will suffer. .

I get a lot of gear from MPB. Most of the stuff arrived intact and as described, but they definitely don't seem to test their gear. Case in point, I ordered an EF lens, and it was something completely different. They stand by their orders and offered to take it back, but it's odd that they didn't test it first.

Be careful of MPB trade in prices they are terribly low ! Buying prices are pretty good but trade in prices they do take the p**s sometimes !

I was a customer of MPB (Europe) since 2021 and had several dealings with them, buying a load of stuff, with no hassle. However, since the start of this year, they've started to drop the ball. Gear over-rated (a well-used piece junk that was described as 'good'), faulty camera (sticking shutter) and losing a part of my order (sheer incompetence). My latest camera from them has had two replacments and finally I ended up with a camera I am happy with, but still an incomplete order. I'm seriously wondering if I'll do business with them ever again.

I had good experiences with two lenses I got a few years ago but my recent order of a camera had issues even though it was marked as "excellent" with no issues the release mode lock was not working. Surely this should have been easy to spot for someone checking it. The dials also felt somewhat stiff. They might have been good in the past but I think they are making cost cutting measures and not checking things thoroughly - YOU are the quality control now. I will be returning it for a full refund and probably won't use them again.

Just shows how money can spoil otherwise a good idea isnt it.. I have been buying from eBay ever since. Both individuals and little cameras shops that sell there care too much about their feedback to send you junk 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@CINENIMUS Yeah and further to my originally comment I've now discovered one of the lenses I ordered with the camera does not consistently focus past it's widest zoom range. Definitely sending the whole lot back now for a full refund and not an exchange. Quite shocked they could send out something that is obviously not working. Might give e-bay a go instead.

MPB are great, i've used them for years and never had any issues. Sounds like you've had some bad luck there. Their customer support is really good so i'm sure they'll sort it out. Good luck

They are not great at all. They claimed the tossed out my original manual for my camera. No way they did that.

The problem witn MPB and KEH is that they pay almost nothing for equipment they purchase. So the seller of a desirable camera or lens in good conditon has nothing to gain, except time, by selling to these places. However, if you have a lens with a soft corner or a camera with one slow shutter speed, receving a bit less for your item and not worrying if the buyer is happy is a good deal. Of course it''s hit or miss since they also buy from people who want to clean house and don't need the money, from widows and kids who inherit stuff they have no interest in, and so on.

I am currently in the middle of retracting a trade with MPB. I sent in a canon t5 with some lenses, a sony a6400, sigma 30mm f1.4, and the basic accessories like batteries etc. When they got my stuff, they claimed the batteries were missing and lowered the value of the sony cam pretty hard, even tho the camera is open box condition- as I bought it less than 3 months ago new. Sent orignal boxes and papers as well. I wanted to get the nikon z30 and a lens, althought that may sound dumb, i just wanted uncropped 4k@30. Either way, I just sent an email on the 26th stating I would like to cancel the trade and get my gear back (they just finished inspection same day). Hopefully I get it back and it isn't damaged at this point. If I still decide to try for another camera, im just gonna sell my gear myself.

I know damn good why i never trusted these business. As i searched for a Sigma 150-600 i had already looked at 4 or 5 different sellers before i found "the one". Only considering how much they differed in image quality (one was not sharp at all, others had bad corners or both) i would have regretted buying it from MPB for sure.

@@CINENIMUS yes, ebay is also noticable cheaper than looking for stuff in your region, especially if you dont live closer to any big city. The 150-600C sigma i looked at like 3 different sellers in vienna and even were once in „Graz“, biggest trip for a fail since this lens looked only on the images good but in RL had some damage and was optically anyways not better than the average 150-600C

After sending my gear to MPB they dropped their offer (with no explanation) over $300. I told them to send my gear back and they claimed they tossed out my original Sony box. Then I noticed that my owner's manual for my camera was missing. They claimed they tossed that out as well. Anyone believe they threw an original manual away? Anyone interested in filing a group complaint against this company with the State of NY?

That was my experience in UK. Not sure about the Us… but looks like very similar.. they just got too big too fast and making too much money. In UK used prices from eBay are actually higher than MPB coz everyone know how and what they sell

They offer you a price that's already too low. then once they get your gear they drop it even lower thinking that you will just go with it because you already sent it. I told them to send my gear back and I would sell it myself. That's when I believe they started stealing my stuff.

I recently had the same thing happen with two lenses I purchased (same order, both considered "good" condition)...This was the first time I've ever had an issue with anything I've bought from them, however, both lenses were broken (On one, the zoom mechanism didn't work,...On the other, the picture quality got progressively worse with each shot until the photos were blank)...So far, the return process has been smooth and I received an email today saying they got the lenses & I will hear back in a few days on whether the lenses will be repaired, replaced or refunded...It was definitely disappointing but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt for now...I'm sorry you've had so many bad experiences...

If i get a full refund if the item is busted, what is the issue here? Ive bought many many items from Amazon and a few were faulty but i return the item and try again. What am i missing?

Actually for a honest and trusted review my recommendation for you; Make unboxing video,as you opening first time and recording the case, it would prove the problem you met this lens, are you handling this lens first time etc and technisch issue, comparing lens with description and real condition if its as were explained or not!?etc. Otherwise i become to think about this may you gave damage this lens or you work for another company or other irrelative stuffs. Not a clear case by my side, sorry.
