Welcome to part ten, the final part, of Foxx's build of the MPC 22" Eagle Transporter! In this episode, Foxx takes care of the last few bits and bobs that need doing, and shows you how to make plastic look like slightly used aluminium. Also there may be terrible chromakey action!

I know this is now 3 years old now....but this build series has been brilliant. I have just bought this kit (a 46 year wait for an Eagle kit) and these episodes will be invaluable. A build to be proud of.....btw the last episode was my stand out favourite and ammo metallics pigments aside the C1 metalizer powder is going to be ordered....awesome job! 🤙👌

This was a great build to watch and the final flying scene just took me back to those nights when we all sat waiting in anticipation for the show to start. Haven't had the courage to re-watch it though as I want to keep the memory special. Lovely finished product and will definitely be using your technique on any thruster bells or any similar parts.

Thank you for producing these most excellent guides. You should never doubt for a second the positive impact you're making on the community. You and Tony. Bravo. I have learned quite a few techniques from you- and I have been around the block a few times-(I designed and led construction on the flying HE 110 miniature on Chris Nolan's Dunkirk and, in the distant past, made models for film before computer graphics ruined everything). I have a mountain of model kits and keep buying more but because it's so similar to work I just can't finish any. Watching you and Tony is the next best thing. I share your love for the Eagle. It's my favorite too... Keep up the great work Wish I could buy you both a round... -erik

I'm with you on the eagle, in my top five sci-fi ships. You have once again done an awesome thing.

Truly awesome! Did anyone else notice that during the initial closing review, everything was correct, but during the final "fly through space" parts starting at 52:48, all of the shoulder pods are on backwards! The shock-absorber parts should be flexing to the rear, not flexing forward. Was this on purpose to see if we'd notice?

Foxx says "WHY YES I DID THAT ON PURPOSE, ABSOLUTELY INTENTIONALLY, WELL SPOTTED OH GOODNESS IS THAT THE TIME..." /car noises In reality he left them removeable for transport and simply derped when he put them on to film this :)

AWESOME!!!! Thanks for doing that build series Foxx. I hope that you can get one for yourself. Pete let Foxx keep it or give him another to build. :D I'm going to miss that theme song. Great job.

You had me at Bing, bing bing, da da dah bing..... Best opening ever! Yea I bought the turned "Al you mini um" bells as you Brits would say and do regret it a bit. Precisely because they look too pretty and expense to dirty up. I think your's are spot on for the build! P.S. I even know who Jerry is from New Tricks! You guys have the best mystery shows ever! Although your country's taste in wallpaper is seriously scary as seen in many of your TV shows. No wonder why there so many murders to be solved. :)

Excellent series of videos. Hope to finish mine one day. Should mention, though, your pods are back to front in the CG portion at the end, I think!

Did you have to thin the UMP primer and if so what ratio? Thanks.
@emodelsuk
@emodelsuk 2 года назад
Nope, primer should never be thinned. Primers work differently from paints - their one job is to adhere to a surface either mechanically or chemically - and thinning them may stop them from being able to do that. UMP primer can happily go through an airbrush from .35mm or bigger, although a higher PSI than normal - at least 20-25PSI - will be needed.

The inside of the bell wouldn't be shiny because of the heat. It looked better before you added it.

Why is there always a purple reflection in your AB cup? Is it your magnifying headset?

That looked like an Eric Schwartz toon in the fake test card!

Foxx says: "BAM you get 100 bonus points for namedropping Eric W. Schwartz!" (Foxx used to draw a webcomic in years gone by, and that character was from that. He says Schwartz is one of his great influences, along with Scarry and Sokal).

I loved Eric’s Aerotoons back when I had an Amiga 500. I never thought I’d fancy a squirrel until I saw Amy xxx
