That was a great video. I really, really wish I had seen these techniques before I had painted the Mercury Redstone, Saturn rockets. And the Space Shuttle. Painting white is super tough! Great job, again!

There's a better way to get your decals down. I've used this method for several decades and I've never had any problems. Instead of using the Q-tips, I use a small sponge. The same as you find in figure and gaming miniatures. Just apply some setting solution and let it work. Then press straight down on the decal. Be sure to stay at 90° to the surface. Apply more setting solution if necessary and repeat. I can easily make my decals look painted on even over zimmerette. On a flat surface like yours, you probably won't need to use the setting solution. I'm really enjoying your build. I want to do one but don't have the room.

You should paint the modules and spine BEFORE you assemble them, then they are easy to paint.

Could you use a grey or off white primer and then use a gloss white, thus reducing the layers and workload?

they show you in sci fi movies the ship warping off the real fact is that the ship dosnt move at all the rest of it around the ship moves :) but it can only be done in that dimension not ours building a flat ship in a flat dimension lol how would you solve the problem of only seeing it in one perspective
