This is something that piques my interest: epidemiology and social & behavioral, especially the latter as I’m working as an MA now, and wanting to take full advantage of my jobs fully funded tuition to become an RN. Lemme go fill out the paperwork so I can send in it first thing in Monday morning. Sistagirl, you’ve helped me tremendously to see myself and finalize some things about myself, my dreams and goals. I have a question and need some advice. Right now, I’m getting my MPH, and I’m unsure of what job field I should be in right now. I love the medical side of things and currently work in day surgery as a PCT, and I wonder in GI as a tech and in the lab. While also having PRN caregiver Jobs on the weekends. After my MPH, I want to go for my DrPH, and I want to ensure I’m on the right track.

I am interested in getting my PhD in public health , do you think the options of careers are broader or instead narrowed cuz of being “over qualified”? Also , do you have to have a special concentration to do epidemiology or biostatistics? Or can it be a general public health degree ?

Working on my MPH now (unfortunately at Liberty, but it’s CEPH accredited so hey). I’m currently a public health consultant, got the job because I was doing public health work in the Army and didn’t even know it. I don’t make 100k, but I do pretty well and work from home. Can you do a video on if it matters what school you actually attend for your MPH. Or if you already did, can you link??

I started my bachelor's in public health, but unfortunately got a little ill myself in the first semester and had to take a break. Now I'm unsure, if I should go back, because I already have a job in nursing and actually from what I've seen, there are not so many public health jobs, at least in Germany, where I live. I'm sorry to say that, but it seems to me as if you know a little of everything, but for each field there's already a professional, who knows much about it f.e. nutriotionists, lawyers, economists. Can someone, who works in the field tell a little about their experience? :) Would be a great help for me

Maam...i have done Bachelor's in Electronic engineering and after 6 years of graduation. I doesnt feel satisfied...i am very much interested in public health and its job responsibilities kicks me and i like to do masters in public health and want to starts working but ppl r says...i cannot go in this field and master in public health is not possible for Engineering Graduate. We are almost the same. Mine was Electronic Communication Engineering 20 years ago. I don't like either. Now I am currently in Nursing major. I did not use my engineering cause it will be a waste cause it is very far from health field. It will only have few subjects like math, English, and the sciences will expired in 5 or 7 years mostly here in US. I did start from scratch. Now I am planning to shift to public health. I am 45 and a single mother of 3 children. You are still young. If public health is what you really want please do it. Follow what you really want in your life. You can do it! Good luck.
