Tony Lyall race 100m butterfly against Olympic 400 metre individual medley finalist Lewis Clareburt to see how hard it really is. Filmed for The Project NZ
Little known fact; the butterfly stroke was invented by Thomas J. Butterfly when he thought, "there's got to be a way to swim across the pool that is 100x harder than freestyle, and also slightly slower."
Many swimmers don't even try to swim butterfly because it's considered difficult to master. So the whole "regular guy" concept in this footage is screwed up.
Swimming with bad- slip stream and average technique, expends more energy thus GREAT PREFORMANCE by Mr Average🙂 you definitely could Hit a 1min 30sec after some fine tuning swim skills👍
