Love the damaged tape options. That alone makes me want this, but otherwise thanks for demo-ing in stereo, with an expression pedal, and mentioning that it has tap tempo. Great, non-annoying melodies and loops, too. (Much appreciated on your entire channel).
Thanks man, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I do what I can and try not to make it terrible. I like this pedal, kinda wish I still had it but there's so many awesome delays. This is one of the best.
@@aBunchOfPedals Thank you for this, really. Which pedals stays? Compared to Belle Epoch or El Capistan, which one would you prefer for "authentic" (I know...) 70's sounds in front a dirty channel? many thanks.
@@unmondelibre Honestly, I've never played the other two but the tapex2 is pretty sweet. That being said, my favorite delay is easily the Echosystem from Empress.
Your videos are exactly what most people want. The product. White background. The product being used. No talking! Love it. 1k subs will multiply by a 100 with time.
right now I'm hesitating between the empress echo system or 2-3 different delay pedals for specific needs... How would you compare the tape delay of the empress to the tapex?
I'd say they are both really close. I like the modulation on the Tapex2 better but the ES sounds really good too. Yea, that's a tough call because the ES can do whatever you want it to.
wednesdaychildhasfartogo there are several digital tape delays that can. Wampler Faux Tape, Strymon El Capistan come to mind, but there are def others too.!
Love your videos man, straight class all the way! Have you had a chance to compare the TapeEx2 to the ElCapistan? In the market for a tape delay and can't decide based on the demos online - they both sound great.
@@profd65 In a good way, he makes me rethink the effect itself, because he has his own take on it. This sounds like tape actually moving, many just sound like a delay with a chorus or something.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help but I don't see why it wouldn't sound good as long as you didn't push a super loud signal into it. It's a sweet delay though, as far as "tape" delays go.
aBunchOfPedals yeah I think it’s impressive and I’ve had a belle epoch deluxe and now I have an avalanche run. It’s definitely capable of amazing sounds but I have just read somewhere on the internet that it does not handle gain very well, like it overloads and the repeats become muddy and noisy. I found this to the the main weakness of most delays TBH. I’m looking for a delay that handles fuzz or distortion well and sounds amazing with clean tones, but I’m about to give up in my search and get two separate delays. ;)
@@gonebymidnight2881 Whenever I use high gain (mostly fuzz) and delay, I just turn down the master on the fuzz pedal so it doesn't blast right into the delay. Some are probably better at handling that gain but I'm really not an expert on it. I just don't use a ton of high gain stuff. I guess you can always try it out for yourself and sell it if it's not working for ya. It's tough, sometimes you just have to get a pedal in your setup to really hear what it's like.
@@young_of_the_mill9560 neither honestly, the Thermae from CBA or the T-120 Deluxe from Demedash are my favorite (and maybe best sounding) delay pedals.
@@young_of_the_mill9560 That’s totally understandable. If that’s the case, then this would be a great delay for ya! Looks like there’s plenty for sale on reverb. 👍
I liked the pedal and the tunes, but you don't need to *CONSTANTLY* play with the dials. I mean, what the fuck? Nobody uses a delay like that. Set it to something, then let it be for awhile.
