In Romania traditia este vie.
@draculakickyourass
@draculakickyourass 9 месяцев назад

Another odd habit:In Romania, people from the village still slaughter the pig in the yard. It seems such a barbaric custom and yet it is done with great care and dedication. The pig's blood is kept and a special sausage called "sangerete" is made from it, because sange = blood. The pig is placed on the straw to be roasted, but before starting the flame, the youngest/smallest in the household has the honor of being mounted on the pig, for abundance and wealth. After all the work is done, a good piece of meat is kept and a pig's alms is cooked, to honor its sacrifice. Somehow, in all the barbarity of the event, it seems to me much more decent to kill what you consume, to take responsibility and know exactly how and with what sacrifice that meat ends up in your pan, than to have countless animals killed in slaughterhouses, without knowing if they get to be consumed or expire and are destroyed.

Very enjoyable video and a lot of traditions I didn't know anything about. All Saints (allerheiligen) is still celebrated here in the Netherlands, but I think it will die out in a couple of generations. Traditionally the graves of loved ones are being visited and decorated with flowers or plants and candles in my region.

Hi again :) About Death. Dacians believed that dying is the reward for putting up with the punishment wich was life. They embraced death, laughing. On the other hand, when a child was born, they cry, knowing what lies ahead for him/her. One of the most honorable death was to be thrown into spears, because they believed that the one being selected to do that would soon be in the company of Zalmoxis, so before the ceremony, the selected one, who was the bravest and the smartest among the teenagers selected, would be given all sort of prayers and messages to deliver to Zalmoxis, the Elder of Elders. If the death was swift, it ment the gods were satisfied with the offering, and a big feast followed, usually for 3 or more days, celebrating the clean death and the success of the departed. Death ment, for them, the end of the struggle, the end of a working life, the end of all misery and pain. Such as the vikings, the dacians celebrated death as a way to go among the gods, for a eterny of feasting and drinking.

Well, about slaughtering the pig. Almost all parts of the animal are eaten. The list of the foods made from meat is endless: soric, chișca, caltaboși, cârnați, carne la garniță, slănină, mușchi afumat, răcituri. Like amerindians who had the bisons, romanians have pigs to survive the winter. For me indians from North America and from Peru are true examples of humans living according to nature. In my childhood I took part of many pigs slaughterings. Now I find them brutals. The traditions and the believes are what makes us humans - forms of dealing with the unknown. You are a good Man Mr. Giant. Maybe someday I'll show Romania and all youu can see on RU-vid You will fiind scratching the surface. I climbed the mountains of my country, apropos there 2 different mountains ranges: Carpați and Munții Măcinului, I visited a lot of caves not all 1000, I saw voievodal necropolas from Moldova and Muntenia, all painted churchies, the wooden churches of Moldova etc.

You guys believe the pig slaughter is only in Romania??? Nope,it happends in all the villages of Europe.For example in Spain is called ,,matanza'' ,and,surprise,they prepare the pig exactly like in Romania. As you mentioned the sangerete,they make it too,is called ,,morcilla''.You make piftie? They make it too,called ,,gelatina'' You prepare carnati,toba,caltabosi,sunca? It's called,,chorizos, salchichas, salamines, longanizas,panceta. The pig skin, sorici is so popular they serve it in restaurants,it's called,,cortijo'' ,not to forgot their ,,jamon''wich is world famous.(In fiecare an cu o familie de prieteni spanioli mergen la satul parintilor lor,in regiunea Zamoracumparam un porc in jumate si-l taiem impreuna,sa ne facem pofta😄,de asta le cunosc traditiile.

Cauta Krampus in Germania ,Austria sau Kekatas sau Budeli in tarile baltice,vei avea o mare surpriza😄.

ETC ETC
