I thought it was actually Tugger's actor, Tyler Hanes. He was in the 2016 Broadway Revival. But it also couldve been Misto's actor.. Tugger's actor and Misto's actor were both fully on the Tuggoffelees ship.
Artbug when i was like eight, i went on a cruise ship and i remember seeing Cats on it. it was my first musical ever and i have a picture with Old D :)
This is seriously one of the best Mistos I've ever seen!! The pirouettes are so clean and every single jump is on beat!? He makes it all look so effortless and playful!!?!
I made it full screen and it took forever, but I finally saw it, too! I wasn't exactly sure if it was just a shadow, but at 6:00 onward you can make it out sitting next to her on the floor, lol.
he makes that choreography look so EASY. Incredible, showstopping, outstanding, a fantastic version of misto also I am LIVING for the way tugger sweeps his jacket off
Holy crap! If this is what entertainment is like on cruise ships, I better get rich and take a cruise! I'd have thought the ship would be filled up with all the cast, crew, musicians, etc., it'd take to put a show like this on... This is great stuff. Well done, people!
It is! But you’ll never see us 😉 You’d might be interested to know that other than the cast it only takes 1 stage manager, one backstage staff, 2 Sound guys, 2 riggers, 1 Light guy and 4 follow spots to put on. It’s a 20+ team to build the set every time though because it gets put away after the show so something else can go on.
I've seen plenty of musicals on cruise ships. You just have to go on newer ships. The norwegian bliss does jersey boys and it was the greatest production I've seen so far. I kind of want to go on the oasis just to see cats.
Devoted Cetacean when i was around eight years old, i actually saw Cats on a cruise ship. it was my first musical ever and i even have a picture with Old D :)
The person playing Tugger in this cast is Stanley Allyn Owen he was a swing in the 2006 national tour of cats I got to see him play this part Munkustrap and Gus/Bustopher Jones/Growltiger and he was fantastic!
ok so I've watched this video so many time because it's just, so awesome. Thank you for sharing it with us, op. I've only noticed now in 3:04 : was that some kind of a reference to when Mungo and Teazer where just puppets and Misto was presenting it to Bustopher in the 82 Bway production??? holy shit couldn't love this certain production more.
I fell in love with Mistoffles and Cats because of Mistoffles Back in '93 when the us girls in my USAF ROTC flight when to see Cats together. I've watched other dancers dance the part and while very technical, the energy was just wooden. Matt has been the best dancer for the part I've seen since '93. He puts the playfulness and joy into the role it needs. He has his own YT page. Give him some 💛💛💛
I saw this , this year on the Oasis it wasn't the same cast or exact same cast as far as I can tell but it was amazing !!! Daisy Hulbert is my favorite person I've ever seen as Victoria and I loved this Tugger also.
all the other cats were way more involved and the dance solo was not like modeled after the movie version of it which I was actually glad for because when I saw it live IT WAS FAR BETTER!!! exactly because all the other cats did more things than just sit around and watch Misty and because Originally Cats was a stage play and not a movie all the live staged renditions of it should not have been attempted to be made to have looked like the screen version of it. Roarr!
Came back this Sunday from a Royal Caribbean cruise and watched this excellent production. However this kind of musical is not for all tastes in a cruise as before the first act had finished many in the audience had already walked-out. After the intermission half of the audience did not returned. I guess they found the casino more interesting.
Same thing happened when I went. This kind of cruise is very densely populated with older folk, so I suppose it makes sense. Think of it this way- better seats.
am I the only one who A: doesn't get why they have misto descend on drumroll rather than have the chorus singing while he descends? B: misses hearing the key change to G flat towards the end
Danny Eyheralde hears a wise wisdom I learned from a show that applies to almost everything: just repeat to yourself "It's just a show, I should really just relax."
