This should be re-released to match the Disney re-release! I know I said the same thing under part 1! I'm gonna nag about it until it gets ignored! And then I'm gonna stop!
The issue of shields was made preeetty iffy between the prequels and the original trilogy. In Return of the Jedi, the Rebels had to evade attacking the second Death Star because of a shield that it was being provided by from Endor, yet in the Phantom Menace, the shield apparently can protect the ship from everything EXCEPT other ships. I can only really deduct that shield technology improved in the timeframe between the two movies (which isn't that much of a stretch, considering there's a 30+ year difference), but it's still a frustrating point against the original lore. By this point, I'm only going by what was established in Knights of the Old Republic (which was over 200 years before the Prequels) for individual shielding, in that the shields are only good for laser-based weaponry, and are completely useless to kinetic and physical force.

Same with poetry, a lot of poetry doesn't rhyme... feeling that a lot of people were very happy to watch George Lucas painfully fail at trying to take "his movie" and make it better with cgi and more lightsabers and endlessly boring Senate hearings. Even with a world full of people that have been thinking about cool star wars movies for fn 25 years before he made these movies that aren't "Star Wars" movies. Star Wars was not this amazing screenplay that was perfectly written as some ppl seem to think. The studio put so much effort into that 1st movie, they were filming amazing special effects at the L.A. set while Lucas was busy using 50 takes and trying to get everyone to run awkwardly... one scene I saw they showed Lucas directing was everyone running during the death star escape. The only motivation he gave was, run different, run the way I'm imagining people run. Everyone is running down a corridor and he took like at least 25+ takes on that 1 scene. I mean how important was the way they run? Go watch the movie, besides that 1 scene where Han Charges a bunch of Storm Troopers only to have to retreat, I don't remember shit about them running. Except now I'm thinking, Damn, they did that 30 times! Than used the most awkward scenes. Give it up for Director George Lucas! *big long sigh And than like wtf is the deal with the Jedi and they can't love because love leads to anger n the Dark side but the Jedi get angry a lot! They argue and yell at each other, they mope and bitch, cry and do stupid out of character things. As if everything they say is just some hypocritical bs than they fn jump out of the window to remind you that what they just said is complete bullshit! Are these guys like the rest of a doomsday cult that didn't even get the invite to the death party? were they trained by the Catholic church, there are a lot of stupid hats in these movies. So the Jedi aren't allowed to love or have sex because that might lead to the Dark side, getting angry and being a little whiney bitches aren't a problem but don't you dare care about someone! Love is the path to the Dark Side! also everything is a path to the Dark side! might as well as make Yoda the bad guy in the new movies because he didn't get laid for 800 years! That would drive anyone crazy and with that thought, why would the Jedi take vows of celibacy when that's a proven way to go crazy! are they Catholic? (I come from a Catholic family and I'm agnostic because Catholic ppl were mean to my mom and also did some things I'm not gonna mention but kinda prove my point) Even crazy people still have basic human needs, so why would love lead to the Dark side? Obiwan and Vader are always getting mad at each other! no love loss between them but that isn't a red flag!? Love is a red flag! Here's the point... At the end of ROTJ, Vader kills the Emperor because he loves his son. which was a story good arc for a Badguy. I didn't see Vader being the guy that saves the day but he did it after seeing that the Emperor was going to kill his son. So he killed the Emperor because of the love he had for his son. Everyone got that? Kylo, are you paying attention back there? Kylo must've missed school the day where Luke told the story about his father. Boy was his lightsaber red when someone finally told him that Darth Vader turned back to the good side of the force and single handedly (get it, cause he only had one hand) killed the Emperor, also the rebels destroyed the death star twice so maybe don't build a 3rd one. or if you do, call ADT home security and put some cameras around the sheild generators. So when Kylo is praying to Darth Vader mask, wouldn't ghost Anikin Skywalker show up like "dude, I went down the dark side and realized I was wrong, I'm a goodguy now and I love my son! Why are you praying to me? Didn't my Son teach you this?" Wtf? Didn't you watch the 1st 3 movies before you made this one? So you knew the history at the very least? like Leah would be a Queen instead of a rebel commander? Kylo Ren is a Prince, wait Han Solo was a king!?! The last Jedi is gonna be a sloppy game of thrones episode
