Joop's little Silver Persian boy is 2 days old and needs to be hand fed. Joop seems to have plenty of milk because the other kittens are nursing and gaining weight but this little guy prefers goat milk!
My cat is expecting 75 days now and my husband thought this video was her kitten's being born and was looking all over where the meowing was coming from.
+sunshinegirl1967 - For some reason, I'm not able to reply to your comment (I think it might be something in your settings but I'm not sure) so I will post it here. Thank you for your concern about Mr. Quackers. He burped all by himself and did great being hand-fed. He's a big boy now, all grown up and living with his new family. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. :)
Ohhhh cute little thing well he's in good hands with you and hopefully will be strong enough to suckle on his own I am glad that you shared that with us.
Jep. They are cute as hell, but newborn animals are also something else. They are WORK. 24/7 work. You will only sleep when THEY allow it. You can forget your job. And I wouldn't leave newborn animals to kids. They should go to school and learn. They wouldn't have the time nor the nerves of nursing them 24/7.
I like that your holding him the right way! i hate seeing videos of people feeding the kittens on their backs they aren't human babies they don't feed upside down they lay on their stomachs you have the direction right :)
This is cutest kitten I've ever seen That face is so adorable!! I wish you would have posted more videos of him. I saw one more, but that was all.I wonder what he looks like as an adult cat?
you are a very caring loving person you do a great job thumbs up to you most people wud not waste time feeding the kitten thank you for feeding.the kitten with goat milk I'm a pet owner

Thank you for posting, one of my cats gave birth yesterday and one kitten in to weak to nurse, I'm trying to keep her alive and I see yours eats a lot, now I have some idea what to do. She is doing OK right now, thank you so very much.
I have taken in so many litters of newborn kittens and had to bottle them...I love it..they are so cute. God's little creatures..I am a natural born nuthurer whether human or animal..love them all.
Ohhhh so sweet tiny baby kitten. You are a lovely caring lady looking after it. I wish I would be able see this kitten when grew up. Is there any other video to show about her current appearance please?
Use whatever works for you and the kitten. There are many methods for hand feeding and they all work. You just need to decide which is best for you and what type of system is best for the kitten your feeding. Thanks for watching!
HELP! I found a one day old little kitten. i wonder if i can find someone that know how to take care of him. i realy do not want to die. PLEASE HELP! I luve in Houston, Texas.
Most kittens will start drinking a bit of water at 3 weeks. At 4 weeks, they start to get interested in soft food. Don't force them to wean off milk because their digestive enzymes are geared for milk - try and let them wean themselves - when they start eating soft or dry food, their body is ready to wean. Do not add sugar to their formula - you can throw off their glucose levels and cause harm. Thanks for watching and leaving your comments.
Is everything fine with this kitten eyes? My cat has a litter right now and one out of 5 kittens has a little bit swollen eyes like this one on the video, which is worrying me a lot. Could you please confirm for me that it is normal. Thanks a lot
Hi, bel07 - This Mr. Quacher's eyes were perfectly fine. He had VERY large eyes - they were not swollen - this is typical for some Persians, especially Silvers because they normally have really big eyes. I don't know about your kitten - he could have an infection in his eyes or another problem that could cause permanent damage and effect his vision. Most kittens start to open their eyes at around 10 days old - if there is an infection present at that time, you will see puss or crusty material on the eye slit. Unless you knew for sure what is going on and if there was a problem knew what do to about it, you should take him to the vet for a quick check up. Let me know how it turns out!
Hello thanks for coming back to me. I will go to vets as soon as they open (too early yet). There was a puss inside the kitten eyes which leaked out this morning. Hopefully vets will be able to help.
Dear, I am tring to do this with my 3-day old kitten. How can I prevent that milk doesn't goes from his nose out when I'm feeding him? I'm haveing same situation, every other cat is nursing, but not her... she is just walking around cat - mon. Please help :(
If milk is coming out your kitten's nose, one of two things is happening - either the milk is flowing too fast, in which case you should slow it down bu either a smaller hole in the nipple or using something else for him to nurse from like a pipette or syringe (without a needle of course) and make sure you have his head slightly elevated so the mild will go down his throat easily or he has a cleft pallet which is a serious birth defect. To check for a cleft pallet, open his mouth and look at the roof of his mouth for a hole. If you see one, then chances are he will not survive and should be taken to your vet for evaluation. Good luck with the babies I hope everything turns out fine.
Dear, thank you so much for all advises, I was feeding her with pipette... but unfortunatelly she passed away this morning :( I'm devastated... 3 other cats, two girls (one 150grams & and other also 150grams), and one boy (180g) are looking healthy and eathing a lot. I think that great for 3-day old cats. Baby cat that passed away was only 81g,...down from 86g when she was born So I hope that everything will be fine with them
***** I'm sorry for your loss. Sometimes no matter what we do or how hard we try, they just don't make it. However, it sounds like the other kittens are doing great. :)
Thank you! The other 3 are doing great! They all open eyes today. What is better for them.. to stay in dark room because they eyes are so sensitive now or in room with light? Not sure what is better for them?
Hi Mate can u help me wiv so. Info plse. I'll be gladly appreciated. My cat has given birth to 3 kittens yesterday and they are two days old nearly mother is not feeding them properly or not getting enough milk should I intervene and start weaning them myself also I can I've told that mum is actually producing milk for them is there anything I could do to like if I squeeze mummy cats feeding area teats. ( i'm sorry if I've pronounced it or pronounced wrongly). I'm concerned that the kittens are not getting enough or not at all from the mother. Thks. If Poss could you reply as soon as poss plse. Thks.
I suggest you take the mother and kittens to the veterinarian to be checked. And yes, you should step in and give them some goat milk or kitten formula (from pet store) as soon as possible. I wish you the best of luck and I hope the kittens grow healthy and strong.
You can gently squeeze the cat's nipples to see if any milk comes out - if there is some, you will might only see one drop and that is okay. If you don't see any milk, then she may not have any for her kittens and you will have to feed them with a bottle or syringe (without the needle of course).
Manny just remember to only hand or bottle-feed kittens that actually need it. Otherwise they turn out.....weird, personality-wise. I think kittens miss out on some valuable social interaction and lessons from mom and the rest of the litter when they're bottle-fed, so I hope they are able to nurse better from the mother in time. If you gotta' do it, though, do it.
Derek Draven - I don't know where you got your information, but you are 100% wrong. Actually, it's quite the opposite of what you claim - kittens that are hand-reared are usually more social and people oriented than kittens that are raised only with the mother cat so please be cautious when sharing your opinion.
We had a house fire and my pregnant cat did not make it, 24 hrs later before the home was boarded up two newborn kittens were found on the end of the house that got the least amount of damage in a closet, I now have these kittens with me where i am staying and have been taking care of them for almost 48 hours now, they both had a hard time with the nursing bottle, i feel i am forcing the milk too fast with the syringe can u please tell me more about what u are using?
I'm using a plastic pipette. Some vets have them left over from test kits - check with your local vet. You can also try the Miracle Nipple -also called the Squirrel Nipple - Google is your friend for the link. I have another video featuring it with the link. Good luck with the kittens.
Do you buy the milk or do you make it yourself? If so... How do you make the milk? I got a 2 day old baby kitten and the mother doesn't care for it :( please help me!!
I use condensed goat's milk from the grocery store in the baking supplies isle - diluted with one can of water. However, you can easily go to PetSmart or Walmart and pick up some kitten milk replacer where they sell pet supplies.
I appreciate your concern, but I'm not at all hurting him - you can see how gently I'm holding him. Newborn kittens sound and act like this when they are hungry. Thank you for watching!
