Its a shame other normies didnt watch this show, never had a tv show make such an impact on me. Both me and suraj were holding in the tears during this episode
the last seconds with the projector is the original Elliott learning about everything the mastermind did and whatever happened when he was in coma, and that's why he woke up crying.
Yes you are not supposed to take it literally. I thought it meant that even though Elliot wants to live in this fantasy world, he is nothing like that.
There's a fascinating duality that seems to be at play here. Let me try to parse it out. Imagine Mr. Robot presenting that driver's license and claiming that he is Elliot Alderson. Just as Dom didn't accept that Mastermind!Elliot was "Elliot", she wouldn't have seen Mr. Robot as "Elliot" either. That's because, even though they all exist in the same one mind and can therefore lay _some_ claim to being Elliot, they're still different people. That's what dissociative identity disorder is: multiple distinct personalities - different people - inhabiting one body. Elliot's mind as a whole is aware of this on some level. Now, as to why Dom recognized the difference while others did not, there are a couple interpretations you could go with. In keeping with the apparently growing instability of the idyll-world, it may only have been a matter of time until it began to actively reject him, starting with Dom. You could also picture Dom as a sort of element of scrutiny, distinct from the other people Elliot ran into. She'd be similar to Krista in that regard. What I think may be the most likely explanation is that only Dom was given a chance to actually compare the two Elliots - the one standing in front of her and the one on the license - and therefore was best positioned to realize the difference. What Dom saw on that license could have manifested in any number of ways, but it doesn't actually matter what exactly she saw. Everything in that world - which was tailor-made for host!Elliot - functions as an extension of Elliot's mind, and when faced with a direct comparison, it will notice the mismatch and manifest it accordingly. For all we know, it _could have_ held information about personality and behavior and other such things. The ambiguity of what she saw on that license simply adds to how much of a mindfuck it is for Mastermind!Elliot - and for us - to realize that he's always been just another alter.
What a brilliant idea, involving the audience with the protagonist's struggle in such an intimate way. One of the most satisfying conclusions to any story I've had the pleasure of consuming.
Crazy how we really don't get introduced to the actual main character of a show until the final moments of a series finale. Just plain genius the way they did everything, especially with his mastermind personality, the same one we've been following through the entire series.
I mean, you can look at it that way, or we can look at it like the Mastermind WAS the main character of the show, the story about how a tragic personality was created to hold his host's rage, anger, negative emotions. Going through hell, taking all the hits, while the host rests in the world MM created for him, and the whole time believing he was the host, going back and forth against a personality he thought he created (Mr Robot). Only to find out he was also a personality that was created. Just imagine, learning that all the memories you have as a person, belong to someone else, who is basically you but is labelled as the 'real' you. That would be extremely sad. A tragic protagonist.
The music from the Season 3 finale was "Intro" by M83, leading us into Season 4. The music at the end of this episode was "Outro" also by M83, closing off one of the best Seasons in TV History.
The last series finale of the decade may also be the best! Total GOAT finale to a total GOAT show! I love how in the the last 3 episodes Elliot/Mastermind says I love you to Robot, Angela, and Darlene.
I never thought I'd like a show more than breaking bad. Boy was I wrong. Mr Robot is the best show I've ever seen in my life. Best cinematography, best story, best characters, best music, best plot twists, most real world value and meaning as well as symbolism. Same Esmail is a genius and Rami Malek is an amazing actor
Those two shows are the ones I always mention whenever someone asks about the best finales. Both of them were wonderfully written, with fantastic final episodes.
Thank you Suraj and Pat for continuing to react to this awesome show. Your season 1 reactions are the reason I started to watch this show and it has become one of my favorites of all time.
No matter how many times I watch this finale I still always get goosebumps. Seeing all of the alters integrate so that Elliot can be his full self and finally start to heal is the best and most beautiful way to end a phenomenal series.
27:40 It's not really about personality for White Rose, or forcing people to change their personality, the machine attached to the reactor was (Presumably) a Large Hadron Collider. When she says "A new world" She means it - A Large Hadron collider is the type of machine you could use to create a black hole or rip a new dimension open (Theoretically of course). So she was basing her delusion of grandeur on untested pseudo-science. It didn't work though. Elliot really did stop it. But you do have a nice point of the dichotomy between white rose and Elliot's types of personalities. I think White Rose, rather than having D.I.D. was a transgender who realized their male self was still useful.
I like the explanation that White Rose had the same mental problem Elliot had. Only that instead of creating fantasy world to trap himself in while his protector personality takes over, he tried to create a machine to do that and became delusional about it.

Jon exactly the same. BrBa was my top 1 before I watched Mr Robot. Something just clicked in me from the start. I’ve watched a lot of TV shows, but this one topped all of them. When I think about Mr Robot, I literally can’t find anything that I don’t like about it.
what a masterpiece of a show. this is how you stick a landing. some shows need to take notes (im looking at you Lost & GoT :P). i love that we've never met the real Eliot, we are just the spectators of the new personality that was created from episode 1, the vigilante personality.
@@lewis0705 @Lewis • 3 Years Ago LOST's ending was perfectly built up over its 6 seasons, I'll never understand the people who say the writers winged it all and that the ending was a cop-out with no answers, the writers answered TOO many things if anything, some answers could never live up to the mystery. People who hate the ending don't understand it, some people just don't like it, but the ending absolutely did land.
I LOVE Elliot the character that we followed all these seasons, I always felt protective of him and he was special and precious to me, like a true FRIEND , and guess what we were his friends all along .. I cry everytime I watch the last scenes of the finale especially when he asked us to let go .. and I couldn't hold my tear watching the reaction as well. Mr. Robot is a MASTERPIECE, I am so glad I watched most of the show as it aired, and I really enjoyed this reaction, thank you so much Suraj and Pat ❤ I see the lost parallels too Suraj .. I miss this show so much .. Goodbye Friend 😭
22:44 This whole time I thought changing the world was something you did, an act you perform, something you fought for. I don't know if that's true anymore. What if changing the world was just about being here, by showing up, no matter how many times we get told we don't belong, by staying true even when we're shamed into being false. By believing in ourselves even when we're told we're too different, and if we all held onto that, if we refuse to budge and fall in line, if we stood our ground for long enough, just maybe, the world can't help but change around us. 4x13, Mr. Robot
Fun Fact: Tyrell is the very first character we ever see on screen. Check for yourself. S1 E1 opening scene shows a dark room full of men. There in the center is my man Wellick
If you guys are interested, you can watch "I spent a day with multiple personalities" and the yt channel DissociaDID. Super cool and you can understand just how real and powerful DID is.
Such an underrated show. It was fantastic great writing, awesome characters, and a story that got us hooked until the very end. I also love how it ends right as the real Eliot wakes up and we don’t see anything else pass Darlene saying “Hello Eliot” because we the audience can no longer watch his story as we were part of the Mastermind and we had to let go too. Just a fantastic show!
@@raminahhas4952 no, better in what? This ending is much better imo. It manages to pull off a great twist that changes everything we’ve seen and without feeling pulled out of thin air. It’s coherent, surprising and emotional. Breaking bad’s finale just closes the story well and that’s it
The very first PoV shot is at the very last shot of the whole series. It like we come back and take control again the body and not just observing on what are mastermind doing.
If you get a chance check out the subreddit. There’s literally a million Easter eggs and tie ins (including the use of M83) throughout the whole show. If you wanna go deeper go watch the morphine OD episode cus the whole ending is foreshadowed in the first season which is so bold by Sam
A MELHOR SERIE DE TODAS ! VALEU RAPAZIADA POR COMPARTILHAR ESSE MOMENTO, ESSA SERIE MARCOU MINHA VIDA ! FODA DEMAIS SAM ESMAIL MANDA MUITO, INDICO PRA VOCES AGORA A SÉRIE HOMECOMING, MUITO BOA
Yes Sam esmail. He’s on another level. If you need your mr robot fix after finishing this, Sam esmail directed homecoming on amazon. A lot of mr robot vibes throughout.
Been cool to see you guys react to the final seasons of Mr Robot and Black Sails simultaneously - two of the most beautiful, cathartic, well-plotted and character-driven endings to shows ever, sticking the landing where bigger shows like BSG and (sorry Suraj) Lost fluffed it after relying too heavily on making it up as they went along for the overall series to properly cohere.
:O Jk I agree actually that Mr Robot is a very unique show in that it had the story thought of from beginning to end at the VERY start... I don't think ANY show can boast that. - Suraj
You can see the real elliot at s2e4 where elliot and darlene hanging out, watching the scary movie with that fsociety mask. And you can feel that elliot becoming different person when he wearing the jacket and mask. Btw it happen become fsociety begin.
Even before I watch your guys' reactions, I want to share my thoughts: Of all the TV shows I have watched in my 41 years, of all the finales I've seen and fully understood, I hold three in the highest regard. The Shield finale has a sense of poetic justice to it, with closure and resolution coming for all involved. Breaking Bad's "Felina" may just be the single-greatest hour of television I've ever seen. The finale for Dragonball Z Abridged is one of the funniest, most amazing closings to a show I've ever seen. I'm willing to go out on a limb and put Mr. Robot's finale right up there in that tier. The way this show concluded and told the story is one of the most brilliant works of art television has ever produced. I want to say it's been an honor and a privilege riding down this road with you gentlemen. What an amazing show!
Wrapping up Mr Robot and Black Sails in one week..very sad. 2 of the best shows which actually nailed their endings. Let the good tv withdrawals begin (except, of course, BCS which is amazing)
It's not intended to be revealed if Whiterose's machine was supposed to work. Maybe she sought to create a sort of Matrix machine. Or maybe she started a tech cult (not the type that worship demons; there are other, some scarier, cults that don't rely on supernatural beliefs) and started believing her own lies. It certainly convinced a lot of people. Oh, and speaking of perfect worlds, this isn't the only current series in the Normies channel that involves Matrix-style perfect worlds...
Will you guys react to the new hulu original the series called "Love, Victor" it got released on the 17th, because i love that show and i binged it since its 2 in the morning i just finished it its so good!
oh yea dissociative identity disorder or DID is totally real (james mcavoy's character in split has the same thing but do NOT search that movie for actual medically correct info) and if you're curious about this condition, there's lots of youtubers with DID who explain it well and teach by example. i strongly recommend taking a look at a channel called "dissociaDID" - they're my favourite and they have amazing educational videos :) oh and a less in-depth video but more of a starting point that introduces you to DID: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ek7JK6pattE.html
Hey guys, Will you react on the Netflix show "Dark"? It is crowned the number 1 Netflix show by the fans (2 million) in the recently carried contest on Rottentomatoes.
First time I watched the finale I was expecting it to be SO BAD because the story was going too crazy.. but damn that was perfect! Idk why this show is so underrated.. That was very close to BB level to me!
We don't know whether Whiterose's machine would have worked or not, since Elliot shut it down. However, the chance that it might work wasn't worth risking all the lives that would have been lost in the explosion if it didn't work.
2 weeks ago i sadw the third season of Dark and i didn't like it so much. In the next 2 weeks i saw all the 4 seasons of Mr. Robot and i think this a great masterpiece !
Such a bittersweet ending for me cause I grew with the Mastermind and not elliot and this was basically the mastermind accepting death and elliot coming back. The end of the show was literally the ending of the Mastermind’s story and Elliot coming back and basically being reborn
I know what Pat was talking about at the end there, thinking so hard that you question reality has happened to me before, I was on acid at the time but still
So happy that you guys loved the series. I think it’s the best show of the decade. You guys HAVE to watch Dark on Netflix. It’s a masterpiece so far and the third and final season comes out next week. It’s masterfully done like Mr. Robot, and it’s a huge mind fuck
