The best thing about B high interviews is the way most interviews give you an in depth history of the rap culture in most regions that most rappers started from. It wasn’t always pretty but to get through the ugly I can respect the way old school rappers fought through it. I love the history and connection stories they share.
Man this is one of his best interviews. I went looking for more serv on interviews around the time the no limit documentary came out because he was one of my personal favorites. Everything he said on here was true and I know he caught hell at first for sounding different than your typical New Orleans rapper but thats what made him stand out. Life Insurance was hard. Da Next level was straight too. You could tell he respected both coast and even had features like Big Pun which is big. Serv on to me is just like Master P how he carries himself and all. They have the power to make people listen when they speak and they will drop nothing but gems and its on you to pick them up. I am glad he is still doing good. This is definitely a top 10 interview.
Bruh that part he said P was like you get paid 30K or be the owner of the made 300K for the night...I think that when people Bragg on how much they chain and cars clothes were. I think imagine who sold it to you and made what you paid for it.
I have a bunch of No Limit CDs but I still don’t have a Serv-On CD. I do have Da Next Level on tape but don’t have a tape player. I need to get on that and buy his two No Limit albums! “You bet its me the only one to spell everything out”
I used to ditch after home room because they wouldn’t call your house and leave that message every Tuesday that a no limit cd was going to drop Back in the 90s And I mean every cd I had both the serv on s Heaven is so close is my shit
I always felt like Serv-on was one of the weakest links on No Limit. But dude seems very intelligent and he's a great speaker, I may have to go back and revisit his album.
I 2000% agree with you... So I went back and listen to his first album... It's a hard listen..(imo) He did get better but that first one was shaky... He talks like he was in the top 10 of the label but he wasn't even top 15 on the label. Good dude but... I always felt he slowed songs down.
@@frankgrimes24 talk as if I was top ten but more like 15 lol and I slowed songs down , hmmm number 1 , number 5 album , over 2 million sold hmmmmm but I respect opinions but understand I will always hold myself in high regard always , god bless you and thank you for buying my music , and whatever you doing in life I pray you are successful.
@@therealmrservonyoutubeLet me clarify my previous statement. I was speaking in terms of the first album. I also stated that MSO got better. And let me add that 2020 MSO is better that 99 MSO. I'm not talking down on the successfulness of MSO. I'm sure the accolades are well deserved. But for me back then that's how I felt. One more thing I like the verse on T.G.I.F. song. That's my favorite MSO style.
@@therealmrservonyoutube I got Da Next Level on cassette and that shit is 🔥. Still need to get it on CD and get a copy of life insurance. Thanks for the interview here, hope you’re well.
Serv-On seems to be a dope ass dude. He seems very likable. His music I'm not a fan of, his style seems all over the place but on his new album he sounds good.
It’s 16 states in the south. Not 15. It’s: Florida Georgia Texas Louisiana Mississippi Alabama Arkansas Oklahoma Tennessee Kentucky West Virginia Virginia South Carolina North Carolina Maryland Delaware
