For me, the part that sticks with me is the whole entire time Chauvin had his knee on George's neck, he was also holding one of George's hands in a weird way. Another cop was holding George's arm in a securing manner, so there was no need for Chauvin to hold George's hand. And he didn't let go until he absolutely had to, when George's hand went too far into the ambulance to reach. It seriously creeps me out and messes with me mentally ever since I noticed. He literally felt George's life fade, not just under him, but through held hands. How intimate and creepy!

There is a known policy in police departments that a cop doesn't snitch on another cop; good, bad or indifferent. So, that being said, the hierarcy will not allow that to change, leaving society at the mercy of a house devided. Good cops are caught up in the same barrel as the bad apple.

I’m a behavioral health nurse. I worked in a crisis stabilization unit until it was closed due to lack of funding. My first worry are the children. Many of those children basically saw their father, brother, uncle, grandfather die. The other thing that disturbed me is making such a big deal about Floyd’s size. I’m 5’2” pretty small boned. As a nurse in the unit, we often got patients from ER with no meds. Even though their behavior warranted it. I can tell you more times than not I’ve been able to talk down people on drugs, psychotic, paranoids. No gun no taser and definitely no putting a knee on someone’s neck. I’ve had patients much larger than than Floyd. Since this happened all I think about is I’ve never killed or injured any of my patients. In fact the only time I was injured was by 3 skinny teenagers that jumped me at work one night and tore my rotator cuff. Big adult patients have never been an issue. If I or any other nurse I know had done what chauvin did no one would have a problem convicting me of murder. Just as nurses are held to a higher standard so are police officers. Have I ever assisted in having to take someone down of course. My concern was always protecting the airway. Which is what so many witnesses have said in one way or the other. This is just my opinion and experience. Police are taught de-escalation techniques. It appears that no one used them that day. It started when the rookie officers first approached him cursing at him from the start of the encounter. They should remove those signs that says serve and protect. That day in May no one was served or protected. Back to the original every bystander that day especially the children need counseling. Watching someone die is never easy. Why do you think so many nurses are now suffering from ptsd taking care of covid patients?

He won't. The autopsy report and toxicology results alone are a Mack truck sized hole in the state's case. I was particularly interested in how the EMT was checking Floyd's pulse by placing his fingers on his carotid artery, while Chauvin remained in the same position he had been the entire time. Obviously Chauvin wasn't on his artery, and the autopsy showed no physical indications that he was. The memo between the medical examiner and the prosecution: "If [Floyd] were found dead at home alone and no other apparent causes [sic], this could be acceptable to call an [overdose]," said the notes of a meeting between Baker and prosecutors. That alone is reasonable doubt.

@@michaelwoods7956 Not at all, all the witnesses the prosecution have called so far have been objectively terrible for the state, and that includes the chief of police from yesterday that has admitted that Chauvin's knee was, in fact, on his shoulder blade but it appeared otherwise because of camera perspective bias. This alone introduces reasonable doubt that Chauvin had been kneeling on Floyd for 9 minutes, which, by the way is a completely legitimate technique that is in their manual, even though he tried pretending otherwise.

I saw the video and I knew he was being murdered and would die and the look in Chavin’s eyes was inhumane cruelty ! By the way I can close my eyes and still see that soulless demonic look in that cop’s eyes. I’m 74 and rejected violence as a means to an end since I was 16 before Vietnam and the draft. I am still a happy sane person and hope I never even inadvertently harm another human or animal. Put this creep away forever.

A Tribute in Memory of Mr. George Floyd Don't close the door please let the light shine in. Whispering sounds that echo off the walls. Straps laced too tightly no room for me to move. A blinding glance confuses me. Words can't express the pain of false bravado. Piercing stares from the tormented few. All sides suffering Can't take this life no more. Nothing to chance for a man to break free. I only need one eye to be open. One ear to listen to what I'm trying to say. Just take a moment to come inside and stand with me. Everyday's a nightmare I need someone to come save me. As I lay distressed pleading please help me mama. I see no beacon my life's growing dim. Robbed of tomorrow can't help those who were chosen. It's up to you where we go from here. If I could rise I'd speak up for my freedom with every breath I take that God has given me. Come take a chance and take a stand in harmony. There will be no tomorrow if we don't unite to be free. The violence that follows will only fuel their hate. Take the path that carries your voice of change. Let's lay to rest and and put an end to this shame. Be the hope your children need you to be. If I could rise I'd speak up for my freedom with every breath I take that God has given me. Come take a chance and take a stand in harmony. Everyday's a nightmare I need someone to come stand for me. There will be no tomorrow if we don't unite to be free. The defense attorney said that the officers were distracted by the growing crowd and they felt threaten that they couldn't keep their focus on Floyd. That sounds very republican blame anybody else but the person that we can see with our own eyes who did it. While on that same tape you can hear Chauvin say to George Floyd "whose the tough guy now" Then the EMT had to tell him to get off his neck after he checked his pulse and you could tell when he did George Floyd didn't have a pulse by the way he got the gurney out as fast as he could and got him into the ambulance. If he did have a pulse he would have brought the equipment out to Mr. Floyd and treated him where he was found since moving him would have been dangerous if he was still alive.

Good luck for George's family that he was there. Anybody who does MMA or any form of grappling with chokes knows what a dangerous choke is and whether they are officially an expert or not, they have expertise ( I say as a person who has been doing BJJ for 7 years ). Don't know how he managed to stay so calm as he witnessed a murder in cold blood.

That is an old quote from the Roman Catholic church. Considering some of the cruel things that are done to children and the power they have to overcome it, l believe that is false. We are not a blank slate at birth. l was adopted at the age of 6 weeks. My mother thought l was the most tactless person she ever met until she met members of my birth family! She had modified that trait (thanks, Mom) but not eliminated it.

i kept thinking as I watched the video, that I would have intervened, and saved George. But, in reality, probably not. The police could turn their force and deadly power on me. And if I were black, and there, even less chance to intervene. They could be justified in killing me for assaulting an officer on duty, even though he is killing someone in front of me. What a nightmare for those witnesses.
