I tried a version of that. All regular zombies were Mr x, all lickers were G adults, and all regular g adults were stage 4 G who would give birth to lickers instead of g infants
After all the hype that Nemesis got I was so disappointed in him compared to the sheer terror you feel with Mr X walking around RPD. I was scared to ever shoot or run because I was never sure where he was at any given moment.

But for Ada you can play the game with every unlimited weapon but for the whole mission your vulnerable and every time your close to blowing that last fan you have to hear those footsteps right behind you.
Exactly, just as you get used to flow of the game, and have taken out most zombies, he introduces himself and total changes how you navigate the station. He adds whole new element to the game that the player has to learn how to cope with, and actually makes the station scary and challenging to navigate.
I think he is a lot of re2. The first parts of the game (before Mr x appears) were getting familiar with the map and opening doorways to set up the encounters with Mr. x. The point of "he ruins the pace of the game" is hardcore copeium. I think the game could have used some sort of dodge button like re4 does in some parts.
I played RE2 with bluetooth earbuds on connected to my tv....and I tell you....hearing those footsteps and frantically looking left and right to look for him really added to an already great game experience
Bro, him chasing you through a hallway with 2 lickers and a zombie was the highlight of the game for me. I had to god gamer my way out and it was glorious.
It's believed that there were mulitple units of Mr. X deployed in Raccoon City. And it's very possible considering that we see Mr. X get absolutely bodied by Birkin in Claire's campaign, and yet there has to be another Mr. X to mutate into Super Tyrant for Leon's campaign
You’re right. 4 of em fought off the military and the remaining ones were at rpd the one Leon fought whose task was to kill off anyone at rpd which is why it followed Leon to the lab and then there was the one to retrieve sherry’s pendant in the lab who like you wrote got killed by William

The Mr. X chase was the first time I legit stopped playing a game because I was too scared. And it wasn't even in the library sequence, it was when he just appeared. I remember playing at night and getting so damn scared and stressed that I just stopped playing for the day. Not because I was tired or had to do something else, it was just because I was so freaked out that I couldn't hold my shit together anymore. I picked it up again on the next day, though. I loved this game in the end.
While in RPD Mr. X is constantly roaming the map. From my understanding he never de-spawns and is just always going room to room and if you shoot somewhere he will follow the noise to track you down.
Yes but only during that specific 10-15 min section when you go back to get the electronic parts. And of that short time there's only one slightly random bit that involves a licker and X AND zombies simultaneously, which a flashbang will easily solve. That's why I love RE it's so stressful on the first couple playthroughs but after you learn the game it's all very trivial. X will ruin your day on the first playthrough but he's really not a problem
I loved Mr. X in that game. It makes it more challenging. In the original, he's only on the 2nd scenario and only pops up occasionally. But the REmake, he's in both scenarios and you actually got to stay away from him bcz he'll follow you everywhere until you lose him
Yeah, it's a shame that there are a lot of safe rooms that you can get in while being chased and patiently wait until Mr. X goes away. Imagine if there weren't any safe places to hide from him, then he would be an absolute menace lol

It took me two tries to realise that I had to run away from him until the final boss fight. Had me using all my ammo from my weapons and still coming at me like the terminator. Boy was I glad to finally destroy him? Lmao

It’s very bad when you’re trying to beat the game fast and im a veteran who’s beaten almost every re game and gotten most or all of their unlocks
I love Mr X, he’s absolutely perfect and I couldn’t imagine the game without him. Right when you think you’ve gotten comfortable with the layout of the map and killing zombies becomes much easier due to your increased resources and experience, this massive hulking beast literally crashes into the game. He has no clear backstory, personality, or motivation other than he wants to kill you and he will never stop no matter what gets in his way.
Ive always assumed their were 2 Mr Xs. The one that goes after Clair and Sherry that gets killed by Birkin and the one that goes after Leon to kill police station survivors
This might be very late, but this actually could have been used to explain the t-103 corpse in re3 nemesis the 1999 one not the remake which nemesis eats. too bad they trimmed all the fat off the original for the remake, this would make sense though thank you.
So i thought Mr X was a shop owner, Leon didn't pay him so he came to take everything back Finish the game 20 times on hardcore mode and you'll find a missing document written by X himself
@@ZeroshikiMr. X is essential for the pacing and challenge of the game. He creates tense and challenging situations wherever you traverse through RPD after getting familiar with it. I would say that removing him absolutely ruins the game.

I won't forget the ptsd on my first playthrough when he approached with those steps and that music kicking in, I'd sit in the safe room for 10 mins debating life, I'm good at resident evil too he just got inside my head way too much 😂
He makes the game very very tense because you can never know when he's about to pop around the corner because you can always hear his footsteps so you never truly know when he's going to pop up right in front of you
RE2 remakes pace in the RPD building is great just when you get used to the zombies they and lickers then when you got them figured out they bring in Mr.X. it's perfect
He doesn't need to be removed but they should have patched things so he doesn't sound like he's right outside your door when he's actually two entire floors above you.
Even in RE7, they can't seem to get sound direction right even with 3D audio technology, it's not hard in real life to know someone is walking in particular rooms if they're loud. If it's a deliberate design choice then it's stupid, defeats the purpose of playing smart by listening to audio clues.
Mr X actually makes the game better. If he wasn’t here then I seriously believe the game wouldn’t be as good. Mr X has became so iconic and his intimidating presence makes the game not only better, but more challenging. Those who think Mr X somehow “destroys” the game’s pacing don’t know what they’re talking about and prefer no challenges when playing video games. P.S, I mean think about it, if he wasn’t here then the game wouldn’t be as challenging and fun as it is. I mean yeah William Berkins is a good villain, but he barely shows up only as a boss. Lickers and zombies are around but they can obviously be killed. Mr X is nearly invincible when in free roam. It’s only at the end of the game that he’s killed thanks to the help of copious amounts of damage and a rocket launcher. Lastly I’ll say this, Mr X is an incredible character who now stands next to Nemesis as some of the most intimidating characters in the Resident Evil Universe.
Mr. X adds to the fear factor of RE2. The game starts slow, and once you have a good footing he shows up and pursues relentlessly. Then after all the torment you blow his ass up at the end.
To my understanding based on the many years of the RE universe, capcom films and games. The limiters are the trench coat or restrictive suits the tyrants wear, similar to nemesis.
Thankfully I played the original Resident Evil 2 and anticipated the remake like a little kid waiting to get a toy during Christmas xD I loved the changes they made and how incredibly persistent X was

Destroys the games pace? He’s the sole reason to why the RPD is one of the best parts in the RE franchise. He genuinely terrified me on my first play though and I loved it.

How many times you completed on hardest? You unlock a letter explaining he’s the gas station owner and after Leon/Claire for not paying that’s why chases them not actually a umbrella creation

I went into RE:2 blind and this guy almost gave me a heart attack playing at 4am. I had taken too much ADHD medication and literally threw the controller down and went to bed because he made my heart race so bad. Once you e dealt with him a few times though he’s not scary
I recently did a playthrough of RE2 remake. Only ran into Mr X in RPD maybe 4 - 5 times. (Aside from scripted events) Most of the time he was on the other side of the map. Once you learn he reacts to sound of you're quiet you'll be fine
I forgot that there were more Tyrants that were deployed; at least that potential plot hole is fixed. when you play the game both ways, Leon fights the Super Tyrant instead of Birkin since Claire deals with him on the train elevator. In Claire's 1st run Mr. X gets wasted by Birkin even though both Claire and Leon fight G1-G3 Birkin. I was expecting different outcomes by playing all four runs
It’s actually very interesting how he changes the pace in the police station. You’ve defeated G1. You have probably mastered the layout of the first couple of floors in the RPD and you have definitely taken out a sizeable chunk of the zombie population squatting in the police station. Then, out of nowhere, Mr X shows up. Now these empty halls are filled with the echoes of his footsteps. Every dark corner resembles his silhouette and there are few places where you are safe from his wrath. You are no longer welcome here. All the things you knew to be true simply fade into the back of your memory. This is HIS precinct now and you are nothing but a pest to be disposed of. And he WILL find you. He pushes you to leave. To get the clocktower puzzle finished and get somewhere that he can’t find you. On subsequent playthroughs I can’t say I ever felt threatened or even startled by him. The original RE2 was better with how it handled Mr X but the remake does some very clever things that make you play the game differently.
Mr.X constantly chasing you was perfect pace. He could even go into your safe rooms and get you there so really no place was safe and it made the game just so much more terrifying I loved it
Safe rooms are safe from Mr. X, along with some other rooms (clock tower, for example). The only "safe room" he can get into is the main hall of the police station, but that room was never intended to be safe in the first place
He doesnt destroy the pace at all, and chances are if you think he does you are just slow, like literally. You are taking too long thats the point of him, to keep you on the move.
Mr x is one of the parts of the game. Hearing his Bigfoot steps on the floors above or below you. Or when you open a door and hes standing there waiting on you. Nothing you can do but run. I'm not a fan of unkillable enemies but he was a great addition.
at first I was pissed to activate him in the game cuz it was helluva hard to avoid zombies in the game already and there was tons of places to search still. But damn I was happy they put him in the game after a while, he brings much more hesitation about where to go rather than just run around careless through the map
So I've recently played both the RE 2 and RE 3 remakes since they were put onto gamepass, and because I don't do well with horror games, I bought the add ons that give you infinite ammo and weapons. RE 3 was pretty fun, and I rarely panicked when being chased, and I only bought that games addons about halfway through. However, RE 2 I had bought the addons before playing it, and I have to say, although I had an infinite arsenal at my disposal, I was continuously worrying about who or what was around each corner and Mr X added to that. He doesn't destroy the pace, he makes the pace. Hearing his heavy footsteps nearby made my heart race even though I had a rocket launcher pointed at a door, only for me to hear his footsteps head away from my position. So yeah, I'm a fan of Mr. X, and I'm sort of a fan of RE 2 remake, and whenever RE 4 remake comes onto gamepass, I'll definitely try it out and I'll most likely be getting the addons for that game too. 😂
Bonus fact: there is actually a theory that Mr.X was the owner of the gas station and Leon couldn’t pay his stuff and Leon said “I’ll catch you later” or something
Sometimes i remove him, especially when I do different challenges. But I like having him on the most, it just makes the game better. Its kinda terrifying knowing he is stalking you throughout the police station. Opening doors really looking for you, instead of him being scripted to spawn in.

He literally adds suspense to the game. First time i played re2 remake i got nervous or my heart rate would spike hearing footsteps outside the halls or doors opening when i was in a small room with no other way out. He forces you as a player to make mistakes on your first play through because you don't know when or where he'll pop up from. There's a reason people could barely finish the game when it first released in 2019, and the game was praised for making the player think on their toes and it would show how you react under the stress of a villain who is constantly hunting you down for the majority of the game without scripted events.
Yea nobody wouldn’t notice a 7ft hulk walking down the street. He blends in well, so he can really conceal his identity they should’ve just put glasses on him to hide his real identity.😂
Mr. X keeps the pace going. In nearly every one's first playthrough they may be too scared to go anywhere. After that he is just another reminder to watch your step.
