Or you get your vids put in everybody’s feed from the get go. Mr Beast is pushed on you like many others. His stuff is mediocre. I’ll never forget when I first got a RU-vid account years ago, all I would get in my feed was him. You can’t tell me there weren’t others who had as many clicks that I never saw. He’s being and has been promoted by RU-vid. They can make anyone they want pop up , and they have a reason to do so.

How to win a race? Make sure you overtake every car in front of you, cause that's how you obtain the lead. Then you prevent others from overtaking you simply by driving faster so they can't keep up with you. Sure the supporters and the sponsors play a role but, once hold on to that formula... The algorithm of the race will mark you with the first place once you make it past the finish line. As simplistic as that is... That's what the race industry wants. And I belive that's how you become successful.

Many topics and videos that could gain more click-through and watch times could be suppressed at any moment. It doesn't mean that these things couldn't get more views despite this, it just greatly affects their potential.

The thing that pisses me off is when they "demonetize" a video for let's say "foul language", but then still show ads on the video, but share none of that revenue with the content creator. Many of my favorite creators have stopped uploading because of this.

Except it’s more complex and, ultimately, duplicitous than this explanation. The “algorithm” (as if it’s some corporeal beast) favors extremes. Nuance is scarce on RU-vid. So, creators go to these extremes to please the algorithm, giving more exposure to…questionable..content. This is. All in favor of the almighty dollar, which is fair, I suppose. However, now we’re monetizing hate and outrage, which opens the flood gates to grifter after grifter.

This is very true. Something I also learned in film school is that people nowadays have very short attention span so you’re going to have to get their attention right away when the video/movie/tv show starts. Doesn’t matter what type of video content it is, otherwise people are going to get bored and go to next video since there are millions of videos and content for people to consume online now. Even comes down to thumbnail design is important. If your thumbnail is boring, no one’s gonna click on the video and watch it. You really have to hook people with a thumbnail and then make it so exciting. The beginning that people are going to want to stay and watch your content and continue to watch it.

This guy has also never fought with the ever changing instagram algorithm and or “community guideline” changes, I struggle to believe RU-vid/ Google run such straightforward algorithms without the (what id call drastic differences) of what Instagram impose, everything from comments, lengths of comments, amounts of hashtags, shares, likes & saves all account towards algorithm factors. RU-vid must be somewhat the same, not saying identical, but from hearing from one of the most successful RU-vidrs saying it’s simple, because he has built himself the platform for it to be simple for himself now. im sure a lot of those other factors don’t apply when you get MILLIONS of views and probably are THE financial contributor to RU-vid themselves 🤔

I really hate to tell you but it really is as simple as that, I made a short a few weeks ago, just a little nothing with me dropping and shaking some little wooden mushrooms I painted and it got 10k views, the most views I’ve ever had and over 16k impressions and 20 subs from it. I’m just starting my RU-vid journey but that one video getting 10k views definitely made me feel like, “yea wow this really is possible” you just have to make content that people “want” to watch and “will” watch. And a lot of videos about the changing algorithms and all that stuff really does not matter that much. The only thing that matters is “is your video entertaining? Do people want to watch it?” The more people that click on it and watch it, the more people the app shows it to etc. That my friend is a very poor mindset to have.

That is not just part of the main algorithm , so it has those cases listed as exceptions . Those exceptions were feed by another algorithm or manually. For example Alex Jhones was totally deliberated.

I don't think SEO really helps, I always get 85 out of 100 SEO or higher and it doesn't do much at all, it's all timing, recommendations, and luck. They want you to watch advertising. They don't care about the actual content. The advertising is what makes them money. They really want click bait videos to get people to click, watch the ads, then leave and do the same on other ads.

1 thing he forgot that RU-vid, or Alphabet/Google want is your Data. They want to know what you are watching, to be able to recomend more videos for you to watch so they can show you more adverts. Where Google and to a higher extent Alphabet want your data, is to be more affective across platforms. Phone, search, video etc. So they can offer you the products/services and advertising that has a higher chance of you spending money. And the ad revenue they can get from companies who offer these products and services.

RU-vid’s algorithm is dogshit. I’m constantly recommended the same videos, videos I’ve watched and things I’m not interested in no matter how I’ve changed my settings. Or ! Just maybe, Apple is doing great keeping things from tracking me to recommend me relevant videos.

Yes it did 💀 the algorithm will push your video more if the people that see your video at first are clicking it and watching a lot of it. Meaning the algorithm favors Click Through Rate and Retention metrics.
