In part 3 of my MRI series, I discuss how an radio frequency alters the aligned precessing nuclei through the process of resonance
Both are explained at length in a non technical fashion

Have tried to understand these concepts for some time now, but every time I thought that I had it ,on reflection , I realized that I didn’t! This series of lectures finally cleared the muddy waters! Thank you so much!

Your MRI series is so phenomenal in taking a complex subject and translating it into a understandable one. Thank you so much!

this video finally explains it. the change that occurs after RF is applied (which you see in the graphs as 90 degree shift from pointing up along the z axis direction, to the right along the x axis direction) is the change of magnetic vector, not the procession vector. brilliantly explained.

I f****** love you!! Truly, you saved me today by explaining this reasonably and understandibly and I'm sooooo incredibly thankful! I would've been entirely lost, without this explanation!!

just so we are all on the same page, your depth of explanation is exactly what is required for the diagnostic radiology medical doctor board exam (ie 8-13 years training beyond the age for which these videos are intended for). Thanks again! also your high schoolers are way smarter than me currently!!!

Hello, It's a really nice video but the transverse magnetization can be 'knocked down' beyond 90 degrees. For example, it is knocked down to 180 degrees in Inversion recovery pulse sequences. So it would be nice if you could please make that correction. Thanks

Why does the RF pulse cause precession to be in the same phase? And does the angle of precession get modified too because of it or just the angle of the magnetization vector?

Thank you. I started studying with the M.I.C. registry review and I am confused. I thought maybe being registered in CT would help me understand. But this is different.. I'm still confused after u started talking about the anti-parallel precession.

I am wondering what lesson/textbook will cover these topics? Will a undergrad quantum mechanics textbook do?

When you say "perpendicular" at 1:39, don't you mean "vertical"? Because I don't understand what the the vector is perpendicular to.

Thanks for such beautiful explanation, I have a doubt at 11.59 , where " the number of antiparallel is equal to antiparallel", but is it "parallel "

I meant in time line 9.01 - 9.02 , not 11.59...
