Fact about me I am wake when I do CT and I go to sleep during MRI why you ask because I am Autistic and the noice effects my sensitive ears so the doctors believe that I can’t handle very loud noises CT is a calm silent machine it talks to me so it tells me or ask me to Breath in Breath out so I obey the CT

@@baronvonbatz05 i can relate sort of. Loud noises like the MRI did make me feel very anxious, and i was extremely dizzy afterwards. Nice to see people who can relate

If the bearings on the spinning CT head scanner are not properly maintained then the entire machine will tear itself apart.

CT versus MRI CT availability - 24 hours a day technical risk - long-term ionizing radiation harm details - less detailed ability to image bone - yes, better than MRI suitable for pregnant women - no suitable for those with pacemaker - yes duration of exam - a couple minutes claustrophobia - usually not a problem MRI availability - mostly office hours technical risk - magnetic field; no known harm details - more detailed ability to image bone - not as good as CT suitable for pregnant women - yes suitable for those with pacemaker - no duration of exam - 20 to 60 minutes claustrophobia - usually a problem

Noise level: CT - Almost completely silent, minimal noises MRI - Extremely loud noises, hearing protection required.

A couple minutes? I stayed in there for at least 15 minutes (back in 1990).

MRI detail depends on the scanner. It can be a sub 1T, 1.5T, 3T scanner for example. Higher-res ones are in the works right now (5T). What difference does the detail make? - Sub 1T ones are open ones usually. Great for claustrophobic people, children. Can be used where precision is not a must. - 1.5T is widely available. - 3T is rare but enables scanning MS patients for example without injecting a dye. I hope we'll progress to 5T and 10T and so on. And scan time will get better HOPEFULLY.

MRI is better on soft/hard tissue due to more details and non-radiation for patient but longer scan times..!:)

CT scans: *causes cancer to detect cancer* It's a joke, don't take it too seriously.

Would it hurt me if i were to do CT Scans instead of MRI scans for the rest of my life? Do both look at cancer and other stuff?

I’m so sorry to hear that. I hope you’re doing alright. It looks like CT and X-rays for you (if needed). I hope you have a great Labor Day!

Omg thanks for posting. I was talking to someone last week and they said I got a ct scan and it was so loud. I said u mean mri and they said yea it uses x rays and I said no it’s a magnet lol I hate when people get them mixed up but I understand people don’t know as much as me and that’s fine, I also want to ask what Tesla they were scanned on or what system but they would be confused lol
