A fair bit of the text was also in Polish, and it sounds a lot like the popups you get from your Sims' work. I think a lot of them are from the adventurer career, specifically, given the poison arrows.

Yeah, it's weird because it doesn't seem like that text is related at all to what was there before lol. It's disappointing though because I'm not sure if I'll be able to edit the package file now for other stuff if I need to. I think it should be possible though because someone on modthesims said they were working on a mod years ago that involved the big boss NPC and whatever they were doing was modifying the objects package file, but the thread got locked and their download links were removed because they weren't warning people properly about their mod being unsafe or posting in the correct part of the forum. Though now that I think about it it might have just been indirectly updating the objects package because that definitely works as my package file is written to whenever I play the game with Mrs Crumplebottom.

The text on the top at 48:42 looks like Portuguese.

Oh yeah that might be why. The game classes her as playable now since I moved her in. I thought I did manage to kill some playable Sims before, but I might be remembering wrong and it was just townies.

Thanks, I tried to create some dramatic storylines when setting it up lol. It's definitely not completely game breaking at least stuff I've tried so far, and side effects probably take a long time to be noticeable. I imagine if you manage to mess the Grim Reaper up, you'd probably cause issues for the death sequence or something like that though. The weird pet Sims definitely freaked me out at first lol, but so far, the biggest issue is the lag I've had recently. It seems to have gotten worse, but I think it's mostly just having a lot of Sims on a lot and big lots with a bunch of plants (I also have issues with the Lost in Love Hedgemaze lagging.) Yeah, the Darren thing was probably my favourite glitch narratively because it was just like a horror film. :') I don't have another installation of The Sims 2 at the moment; I've just been playing The Sims 3 for regular gameplay for the last several months. Eventually when I finish testing everything I want to I'm going to reinstall the game so I can play my other normal hoods lol. I now think it's unlikely that the other hoods could be damaged by the game corruption (unless I do things that cause corruption in those hoods,) since a lot of the global NPC data is stored on the hood level and replacing the object package file should fix the rest, but I'm just playing it safe.

@@CalipersandTongs The bushes in the Lovemaze lot are notorious for causing lag because the bushes themselves were given way too high of a polycount (or something like that). Someone made a default replacement for the bushes which looks the same and is way lower so it doesn't cause so many lag issues. I'm sure there are other default replacements for some of the other plants as well for the same reasons. Hope this helps! :)

Thanks for the suggestion. :) I found something that replaces the box hedge textures with a smaller size, so I'll see if that reduces the lag on that lot.

@@CalipersandTongs On top of that corruption in itself causes lag! I have no clue why but one could literally be using the most basegame of basegame games and corruption can still make the game lag a lot. :'D

Yeah, I heard that corruption can cause lag, and I think it is worse in that hood but then I also have a lot of custom lots there as well. I noticed when you mess around with the universal NPCs it ends up saving things to the objects package file while you play in the last pack you installed (for me that's apartment life,) Santa Claus and Father Time are stored in a separate package file though that comes with the holiday pack. Since I started messing around with Mrs Crumplebottom the package file has increased by about 9 mb so far, not sure if that effects things. I think the weird pet Sims probably slow things down as well.

Yeah, I looked through my mod folder and I have that mod so that must be why biting Mrs Crumplebottom wasn't working. I think I must have downloaded it a long time ago. When I reinstalled The Sims 2 (after about a decade of not playing,) I put a copy of my old downloads folder back in and it's not well organised lol.

Wow yeah that bug sounds really weird.

I thought she was at first, but she didn't seem to do it everytime. I think she actually started doing the animation as her motives got really low.

What I found was that her appearance stays consistent between hoods so if I go to another hood she still has the plant hair and skin but her life states don't seem to transfer. I'll need to double check again with Mr Humble's ghost state because I don't think that transferred either but I'm not 100% sure about the walk animation but definitely with Mrs Crumplebottom she's not a vampire, witch, zombie or plantsim in other hoods (probably not a werewolf either.) It's only the appearance that remains the same. Basically some stuff is changed in the game files and shared between hoods, and some stuff is hood specific. (Changing their names seems to change it in every hood as well.) I talked about this a little at the beginning of my bigfoot video before Mrs Crumplebottom eats the grilled cheese but yeah it's definitely not the case that everything will change throughout the whole game.

No problem :) I guess if you're curious about things but OK with potentially reinstalling later you could try corrupting the game. I think it's actually quite hard to get very serious results, and usually happens when Sim files get improperly deleted or there's a problem while saving.

I don't think what happened in this video would work with regular Sims because whenever I've tried to cancel the haunt interaction in the past, they've always disappeared straight away, but I could try. There is actually a mod that lets you have playable ghosts by midgethetree (but I haven't tried it yet. That's actually part of regular gameplay. If the Sim died by fire they'll sometimes set fire to random objects like Sims that die by drowning leave puddles everywhere (and other ghosts have their own quirks depending on death type.)

Yeah, I ended up looking through my mod folder and noticed I had the creaturefixes mod that prevents that lol. 😅 I think I installed it a really long time ago and then forgot about it since I don't keep my mod folder that organised.
