Oh, oh - Behringer is deleting comments! Bad style, Behringer!! This seems to be the case whenever someone has a remark because of * sync issues * the sometimes sloppy reaction of the interface/sequencer to the user * the lack of authenticy and musicality when in comes to glide and accent

I would describe the SH/MS-101 sound as dreamy or cloud-like. Like if I was making a soundtrack for a relaxing video of flying through clouds, the MS-101 would be the perfect synth for the job. That filter is just so soft and fluffy.

I'm so buying this one once a non-red version becomes available! The SH-101 was my very first synth back when it could still be bought in the stores, and as far as I can tell from all the videos, the MS-101 captures the sound.

Was Behringer Ms-101 discontinued?

Got mine on Monday!! love it just what i wanted sound wise, have used my friends sh101 on loan a few time and dont feel as if they cut any corners, build quality is excellent too.. we' ll see if a have mine in years to come.. If u want a 101 get it... 10/10..

Plastic is brittle and hard, not at all a good description of the 101 sound. Rubbery is the perfect way to describe it because rubber has a bit of grip to it and gives a bit and is bouncy--the exact aspects of the 101 sound that makes it ideal for dance music and keeping the energy up with short amp envelope settings.

its a very cool synth, but it would be nice if i could set the "key-priority" to "last" instead of "lower" as it is now in the software for it...in the K2 synth you can do those settings. because with the ms-1, if you play legato, and upwards, there is no sound, until you let go of the lower key, before the next one upwards, and that is a bit weird... if you go downwards there is no problem, thats why its in "lower-note-key-priority" instead of the usual "last-key-priority".

Hey can I connect to my Roland SH-01 boutique for additional voice?

I wanted to ask how much memory can be stored in the 101 and can I use it hung over my Hip to play and control samples, loops, and /Or scenes Loaded from the memory and assigned to knobs and sliders? If not what is the full capabilities of its memory and cannot run memory real time for example USB, SD, etc. Does the mark two version coming out have any type of this capability or more? Ones description of a sound is obvsiously subjective and also personal. However there is always a danger of a bandwagon term being over used /misunderstood. Bottom line is , you guys have done a fantastic job over the last few year with your instruments. Wish you had been in the synth game earlier truth be told.

Got mine for a £100 quid .. so I'm not complaining for that price.

I would say "rubbery" not "plasticky" (and I see you've mentioned that) I know what they were getting at, though. It's a really hard thing to describe.

I bought the black one when it came out, I thought the red looked more toy-like.... I think I've changed my mind wish I bought the red one :-/ lol

A polyphonic version would be amazing for electronic music in desktop format!

I think it’s plucky and I love it. I pair it with a chorus pedal to add even more life to it-especially nice when using it for long, eerie, linear melodies.

Sounds great. I love it. Plastic? Rubber? Maybe, it’s not brittle like a Vox AC30 (sorry guitar reference can’t think of a brittle synth off the top of my head) and it’s not really thick, phat or nasty like an OBX. So plastic kinda falls somewhere in the middle I’d say. My Micromonsta or the Blofeld I’d say are creamy, but that’s neither here nor there

Sounds amazing!!! What's that TC Electronic effects unit you're using? I don't feel like I need another mono synth (although I do plan to get the Crave whenever it arrives) but this may have convinced me to add another synth to my building Behringer collection (px2000, numerous pedals, Neutron, and Deepmind 12d).

Sure if it had a wooden case the sound would be woody... I can't hear anything like 'plastic' or rubbery. Seems quite a fat sound coming out of this little machine.

The sh-101 and now the MS-1 have the best sounding VCO and Filter of all time in my opinion. Of course I want it to have more features like separate pitch; filter; and amp envelopes but regardless; it sounds amazing.

@Behringer Sounds pretty copper red to me!!! Lol.. I had to say it. Yolo. Hahaha. Love that seq. What the hay was is. It seem like it was only a single arp note on you opened the filter I'd imagine and it changed the arp to a full on seventh chord. Was that the arp setting how you can change with the eight steps ?? Man I need to spend some more time today and get more acquainted with the seqs. Thanks for the humor, my day seemed bumming when I woke up and remembered I lost or misplace my 505 .. and I for the first time in a long time, wanted to criticize myself. All I know is, it will turn up. I love the handle of the device overall. What a blast, I would like to understand that lfo rate and how to modulate more basses.. I find myself breaking into sh 101 tuts to discover more of it's capabilities.. and maybe a how to...on how it jumps octaves when enabled to take modulation from the lfo. I guess Im figuring out synthesis lil by lol thanks to this bad boiiii ( I was very confused when the arps would play at another Otv half way thru two bars....) I was like I broke it. I guess that's called the crossover? Perhaps? Thanks again.

If you put a CV trigger in with not every step triggered, and put it in LFO mode, and hold down one key, will it repeat the note to the beat of the trigger like the original SH101 does?

"sag" is the word they couldn't find. It's a wonderful thing. Guitar amps sag. It's a pleasant effect.

press shift-hold-fart-poop button to do something... just no... I hate that, impossible to use and remember. Give me direct button/knob, or just feck off... Except transpose, MS is almost as bad to use as Mother 32, especially sequencer...

Reminds me heavily from Jarre's Popcorn, which could be described as polymeric sound I guess.

To me, "plastic" just means "brings to mind the sound of a 101." When I hear it, I think of one very distinctly plastic synth. Sort of a retcon, I think.

I just got one of these for Christmas, it hasnt made it home yet, but how long is the power cable for using it as a Keytar? I havent seen anyone comment on the power cable legnth
