I'd say you're using the saw chain that came with your Wood Boss which is a green, anti-kickback chain. Do yourself a favor and switch to the yellow, aggressive chain. You'll cut thru that stuff like butter. I got the same saw and was amazed at the difference and it's no like it was any harder to control.
