She had a huge hit with "The Shoop Shoop Song" in 1964. Also, her version of "Let It Be Me" with Jerry Butler was a hit, as well. This one should have been bigger. I only know this song because I listened to R&B radio back in the day. Her last public appearance was on a PBS special in 2002 or 3 with her old friend Jerry Butler who coaxed her into it. Story was that she had not been feeling well for some time and didn't want to do it. Before the performance, story goes, she was given a shot of whiskey to relax. The video of that performance is on YT. It's very poignant because she passed shortly thereafter.
