Players like fawad alam, salman butt, danish kaneria, umar gul were sidelined in pakistan while this tukka cricketer like afridi was glorified...something wrong in pcb...it was pakistan where he got these many chances...due to pcb lack of judgement...he wouldn't have got any serious recognition even in bangaldesh of 1990's forget about today's bangladesh.

They both are high strike rate swashbuckling batsmen. Afridi has won lots of Man of The Match Awards(4th Highest in ODIs, just behind Sachin, Jayasuriya & Kohli) for Pakistan - 32 MoM Awards(just in ODIs). This camprison is not fair to begin with. Afridi wasn't just a batsman but all-arounder, and he was more consistent with bowling than batting. As a batsman he was very very risky that's how he gained his popularity. It's same like Ronaldinho in football, he didn't have much goals or assists in his name, but his game was not just a game it was an Art to watch, that's why we loved him.

@@ishan5253 I am not against msd. He is my all time favourite captain and wicketkeeper batsmen but it is not easy to play akhtar on a green pitch. Flat track gives advantage to the batsmen so for a fair challenge give both batsmen and bowler a pitch which is pace friendly and then see the battle. Both players deserve respect so we cannot say one is better then other.
