Welcome to a 1993 remake of a 1990 game called Kosmonaut, which is a racing platformer hybrid where your goal is to successfully drive your car through 3D-like courses without smashing your ride, falling in outer space or run out of O2/fuel. A very simple, yet addictive game with nice colorful visuals and cheery Adlib music. Give it a try and see if you can stop playing!

Oh man I remember stumbling across Skyroads when I was young on a red "200 Crazy Games" Shareware disc or something and I freaking loved playing that game! I had no idea Skyroads was a remake of Kosmonaut!

Ah yes, basically the first estonian game ever (not finnish, as someone guessed in the chat - close, but not quite). Most of the people involved in making the game later also went to create Kazaa and then Skype. And became real heckin' rich.

I loved this even though I'm not sure I ever got past the third or fourth level. I think my computer at the time might've been faster than intended for this game. That's my excuse anyway.

To answer your question about the two timers: Fuel goes down proportional to distance and isn't really a timer so much as a mechanic to make the blue Resupply titles mandatory in some levels, O2 is actually a timer to set a minimum speed for the level. You didn't notice the difference because you nearly always went at max speed even when that was a bad idea. Oh also I believe the Jump-O-Master is a mechanic that makes some jumps that would miss platforms get adjusted slightly? It's not exactly clear ingame how it works.

Makes sense, thanks for the clarification. Also I guess I didn't play the game long enough to get to a level where Jump-O-Master was a thing.

@@PsychedelicEyeball The Jump-O-Master activated several times during the stream, actually. It's really subtle in the gameplay (which certainly doesn't help with understanding what it does...), but if you look at the little screen for it sometimes it says "in use" instead of "idle".

@@PsychedelicEyeball It's a small capture the flag with 2 players split screen playing together on the keyboard, with traps and obstacles.. i only know about the shareware version, had a lot of fun with my bro when we were kids xD
