Scott Pilgrim. Right. That's the vibe i was getting from this! And yeah, i think it's great. And honestly, so far, the personal/family/cultural community/teenie drama stuff is even more enjoyable than the superhero stuff, i'd say. I'd watch just more of that.

Man, the “too white for some folks and too ethnic for others” is too accurate. The story of my middle and high school experience. Too Asian for the other races/ethnicities, not Asian enough for my fellow Asians. And I’m full 100% Asian too, no biracial in my ancestry. It’s true even for my extended family too. Too American for some, not ethnic enough for others. Luckily for me I realized in senior year of high school that the people I got along with were the nerds and geeks and that’s where I’ve been since haha. Got a great group of friends who I can nerd out about stuff with.

I'm so happy for this representation! I also grew up with a sense of "not quite' fitting in. My dad's family are Lebanese and mum's is english. I take after her so I'm paler but with a tan I could pass for "ethnic". Never got to really experience dad's cultural background growing up, so the rare family gatherings really highlighted how I didn't fit. Man this show is just so joyful! After binging The Boys recently it's just what I needed :)

Like Hector says, this story line is engaging, and in totally unexpected ways. The topper for me was when my bi-racial son (who goes to a diverse inner city school) stood up and said "Yes!" to Nakia's line about being too white for some and too ethnic for others. I love that for him.

I have never in my entire life seen brown Muslim representation this accurate in western media.. ever. The cultural references are perfect and so incredibly relatable. It makes me so happy that this show may be the first positive Muslim representation in American entertainment most people are seeing for the first time. Just awesome 👏🏽

The line where Nakia said feeling stuck in between ethnicities was definitely something I dealt with 100 percent. That moment grabbed my attention differently. The scene at the festival where we got the run down of all the different groups of people reminded me of the high school clique scene in Mean Girls. Thought that was great.

WAIT. I just realized something. Kamran might not have held Kamala's hand to be cute or flirt. He straight up grabbed her where her bangle would be (I checked the exact frame). Except: Kamala put it on her left wrist not right wrist. I think he wanted to make sure she had it and it was her with the powers but missed the 50/50, but that's why he was there with the car in the end : because his mom might have connected with Kamala during her 2 episodes, which happened AFTER the driving lesson chronologically.

As a whitexican I related to Nakia in this episode. Anyone can relate to any one character regardless of ethnicity, upbringing, social class, gender, sexuality, etc. This show has amazing writing and the visual style is so good. Easily the best show after 2 episodes.

I’m loving this series so far! It feels just like her comics, with the family dynamic, how young and still green she is. Also, in the first episode there were two nods to The Inventor. One was Edison Electric and the other was a parakeet that they briefly showed near the beginning.

One of the kids in Kamala’s friend group that Kamran drives back to Circle Q, the kid who is standing next to Nakia in the party scene at Zoe’s house, he’s the oldest kid of the Vasquez family who has a RU-vid reaction channel for Marvel content, including Ms. Marvel, was a nice surprise to see him in the show.

It makes so much sense that Marvel is connecting this series to Spider-man's larger MCU connections......this character is supposed to be the next young, hopeful, inexperienced school kid with an already established big character as a mentor who they look upto, just like Spider-man in homecoming......only difference is that we need to have her origin and supporting characters before she is thrusted into the larger universe unlike Spider-man Its pretty much like Strange taking the role of Tony in the MCU

My fav Czechxican bros to watch this show. So many parallels between Mexican and Desi(South Asian) parents. The sad thing about the Partition of the Subcontinent is that almost all Muslim Family who were migrating towards Pakistan have a sad story along the line of someone from the family being pillaged, r*ped, kidnapped, or killed. Props to the creative team for tackling one of the most darkest times in Subcontinent history.

There are other south asian superheroes in marvel live action shows and movies.Kingo is a alien but now is south asian in the mcu and there has been other south asian heroes/superheroes in the mcu even if there are in non canon mcu shows.

As much as I'm jealous that you guys get to see these shows that I enjoy early, I don't envy the fact you have to wait longer between the episodes you've seen and not seen! I hate waiting a week! I'm enjoying this show and I cannot wait to see how they integrate Ms Marvel into the MCU in The Marvels. Iman Vellani was a great casting choice and seems a remarkably natural actor for her first gig. She is very likely living the dream that many, many people have about being the in the MCU. The rest of the cast are well done too, all very relatable. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

Was a pleasant surprise to see the EDITH drones back. Still would’ve rather FFH ended with EDITH destroyed because that’s just a way more thematically/symbolically satisfying ending to that movie, but if they had to stick around then immediately putting them back in the hands of an antagonistic force was the right call.

Still think the MCU should have drawn a more clear and distinct link between Ultron and EDITH - after all they're two incarnations of the same idea of Tony's. Perhaps having Iron Legion/Ultron bots working for Mysterio/DoDC would be distracting and too much, but I'd like the idea more firmly established that EDITH is a development of the older Ultron and Veronica systems and that fragments of those tools still exist and could be repurposed at some point. Old problems lingering and metastasising has always been what the MCU does best.

I'm trying to keep an eye and follow this going forward, but have you noticed how Marvel is introducing "young" heroes and is preparing us for these youngsters to eventually appear in a big fight/movie/event "Endgame" style? For example, these youngsters are mainly underage yet, but they will have to roll with the punches literally and Marvel is prepping the way so that the audience doesn't clutch its collective pearls when/if we see these kids get obliterated by a villain. In WandaVision, Billy and Tommy are being choked by Agatha, then slammed to the ground, then in the final scene they get shot at by Hayward. In Hawkeye, Kate Bishop hold her ground, but is punched repeatedly by Kingpin. In Dr. Strange 2, America Chavez suffers some physical damage at the hands of Wanda. In Ms. Marvel, we see Kamala get a bloody nose (by a basketball) and already has some action with the drones in Ep. 2. They want to get the idea into the audience that these kids can "take a punch" so that future movies are more believable and more serious for these young actors.

I understand that, for the sake of maintaining a world that's relatable to viewers, they couldn't completely re-imagine all the ways in which society (like...in the whole universe) would've profoundly and permanently been changed by the Blip, but outside a few signs for support groups and the forced resettlements in CA and the WS, everything seems to be exactly the way it was before. Was the FBI surveilling mosques during the five years in which I can't imagine they didn't have something more serious to deal with? Or did the people in charge who'd vanished, and thus knew nothing about what'd happened, just somehow take over when they returned? Unless Thanos and the Hulk threw a little Mind Stone psychological manipulation (keep people relatively calm, so that whole planets across the universe didn't either just burn in riots and territorial conflicts, or die from unsustainable levels of worldwide grief/fear) in with the dusting and returning of everyone...well, it's just a shame that they're not at least addressing it a tiny bit more. Maybe it'll factor more heavily into one of the upcoming movies or something.

i just love this series so much! also, Ms. Marvel has me thinking about what's my favourite Shah Rukh Khan movie too, iChuckle. big fan of his Don remake, loved Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and K3G.
