Ms. Pat opened up about her tumultuous transition from selling crack to engaging in check fraud. The turning point in Ms. Pat's life came when she had to take in her sister's four kids to prevent them from being taken by social services, all while already raising her own two children. This drastic increase in responsibilities prompted significant changes in her life, including moving to Riverdale, Georgia, and grappling with an intensified financial burden. Ms. Pat's husband encouraged her to quit selling drugs, but it was far from simple. Initially hesitant, she eventually gave up on crack dealing but soon found herself delving into check fraud. She recounted how her brother, a professional burglar, introduced her to forging checks using stolen checkbooks, an illicit activity that also saw her devising fake IDs using manipulated traffic tickets.

If you’ve ever met Ms. Pat, with a story like hers, you’d be surprised just how sweet, friendly and genuine she is. I had the pleasure of working with her and you would’ve thought she had a perfect upbringing. She definitely deserves everything she got!! 💪🏽

Hahaha! No fr! My parents will talk about my sister’s missing money and say, “She gotta be on drugs.” And I’m always like, “Hello! Been on drugs! This ain’t nothing new. Y’all the only ones late to the party!” 😂 but I can understand when it’s your child you be trying not to think the worst of them. But I’m a realist and will just come out with it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was in the same boat recently. I got a house with my now ex and it was us, her kids, her sister, and her mother. I understood what I was getting into but I didn’t know what I was getting into. Long story short, I left. Not because of that but because I wasn’t privy to their situation and honestly I really didn’t know what I was doing. Plus the bitch stole from me and was cheating. It takes a lot for a man to be able to deal with this. Hats off to her husband for sticking with it

The biggest problem in the black community historically is too many single people creating an unnecessary burden on themselves by having too many kids too early by partners they have no intentions of being with for a long period of time. In the 60s and 70s, l saw this growing up in a black community with so many girls dropping out of junior and high school to have kids.
