Hate bodykits on vans. Still that MSRT is nowhere near as bad as the people who lower their VW Transporters or Caddys...

Love that MS-RT Transit. Wish we could get it in the States. It’s obviously modified but it’s not gaudy and it’s the perfect companion to your Focus RS or Fiesta ST

The van should win if you take out the load partition/bulkhead.That way you can load bigger objects by folding down the back seats. That's what I do on my transporter combi!

I am glad I found this, I was having this exact conundrum, between these exact same vehicles!

I picked up with amarok 2 years ago policarbonat roof which is 2.1 m x 4 m .And a lot of brick and whistle , and a lot of mud . I can bring a lot of things just use creativity. One time i bring my brother giant furniture which is hung out of trunk of the car . I think a littlebit better than van .

I know a couple of people who own the msrt, the biggest problem is as pretty as it is, it's too low, both guys have had trouble when taking them on site, especially with the front bumper. My boss owns an Amaroc, it's a hell of a lump, trying to get heavy gear in the back is a pain because the height of the tailgate, the cab has a really annoying echo when you're talking and obviously you can't get much in the back (securely). I've got the Transit sport crew cab which to be honest I'm well happy with, apart from I need a roof rack for long materials.

Pick ups are great if you don't like your tools and want them to disappear. They are also great for carrying a washing machine to the dump. That's about it.

Nothing compares a van practicality

I'm in love with the msrt tranivan definatly a motor I would love to have my midlife crisis over hopefully msrt and ford do one with performance ev potential using mach E power train im a petrol head at heart but can help but think how good a full ev with a 350bhp motor with about 300miles range with msrt styling

I usually prefer a UTE over van, but in this case I’ll take the Transit, IDK why I just like it more than the Amarok

The VW Amerok with the 3.0 V6 may feel high and looks wobbly around corners but i sware they can attack bends and corners also just like any other new car on the road.

The new Transit really are a fantastic vehicle. Who ever designed them thought of most things When you own one you will know what I mean.

I love the Ford transit, but it's just too low. Where I work I usually go in to te mountains to get potatoes 😂 I usually carry about a ton of them.

Is the panel that seperates the back compartment from the front removable? This would be cool without that panel and without the back seats. That whole panel is a waste of space period. I understand you're talking about transporting toxic goods and whatnot but I'd hope it would be optional is all.

One thing you did not mention in your review is the unladen weight of these vehicles. I think you will find the Amarok is over the 2060 kg limit, so on normal roads will have a 50 mph speed limit and 60 mph on dual carriageways.., Don't know about the Transit but worth checking. In terms of reliability, the Transit is getting a very poor reputation, timing belts, injectors etc. Ford have publicly stated they are adding 1000 Vans to their loan fleet to cover recalls for the injectors, makes you think...

Those vans chew up tires quickly

Neither, as you can't get an 8x4 sheet of anything in either of them.

We tune those Amaroks past 400hp all the time, 4.8s to 60. Love them! We are converting one to a 4.2 V8 TDi for 600hp.

Buy a transit custom sport crew cab, save yourself 10 grand

the pick up personally for me isn't the most comfiest thing for work been driving one for just over a year only that i have the Nissan Navara and you normally end up having tools boxes on top of toolboxes and it ends up being very uncomfortable on site when you need something small which is under everything and you keep having to move everything trying to get one screwdriver for example.

I've got a Renault Trafic and I love it. Lots of miles in it every day and it's super comfortable. Had the previous gen too and this is better for sure. I had a Nissan Navara for about year. Terrible motor. Terrible ride. Terrible gearbox. Terrible offroad too. And so impractical. Even the rear seating area. No hook for bags etc. All your stuff would just slide across the back. The load bed wasn't much better either. Great for a dirt bike but not great for dirt bike gear. I'll be sticking with a van for the foreseeable.

You forgot the one most important thing at why people buy these Rear seat leg room how comfy is it in back seat with 3 adults and or children

Vans are far more practical and this Transit looks proper! Could never really see the point of pick ups, you put stuff in the back and it'll either get nicked or all flies out when you hit a humpback bridge to quick (or slam the anchors on!)

Any tradesman/woman would tell you security is high on the list and if you had to keep a load of your expensive trade tools in the back, which one would you sleep better with them in!?

Good to see the lads having a good laugh, body kit looks ridiculous but Van all the way, a Pick-up is for Americans with more money than sense, just not practical or comfortable in the upright vertical rear seats

Who the hell thinks, "you know what? I'm going to buy a 40 thousand pounds van with body kits on it, leather interior and 210bhp to use for work", carry cement, dry wall, all the things that you don't want in a 40k vehicle... there's a reason most vans are cheap, because they are for work, if you can buy a 1.6 hdi (now 1.5hdi) or a 2.0hdi, you buy that, fuel economy is good, they're great engines, no one in their right mind buys a van thinking of it being good on track... for 40k you can get a good reliable and cheap to maintain diesel van and a fun and as fast as that van sports car

Comparing a pick up to a van? That's probably the most work they've done in a while. Oh well. Turn up in a 40k vehicle and they think your making too much, and old wreck and they'll think your a cowboy. What you wan is somewhere in between, a tidy but modest van, or pick up with some nice sign writing on. Fred Perry with your logo on etc, and bring everything you need with you to a quote. Customers hate you going in and out especially if it's raining, and make you look unprepared and amateurish. (and if your offer to take your boots off is accepted make sure you've changed your socks, phew).

Id take the heated seats and extra bhp in the tranny but the rest of it is gash. Those alloys and body kit won't be pretty for long. And a pick up 🤣 fine if your colt seavers in the fall guy!

Never use a chep pallet.

Nothing can replace the box shape ford transit mk6 with being wide and more practical compared to narrowed transit custom but overall all transits are best

That pickup looks like a toy car and that van is going to be terrible to drive when it is loaded up to the roof with stuff. And why the hell would some one want a manual transmission and fwd in a work truck or van!
