The work on Mitra Tantra Archive of Personal Narratives and Oral Histories requires hundreds of man hours of time and money to produce.
It is necessary work, as our collective views, narratives and experiences matter - now more than ever.
If everyone who refers to the project - likes it, admires it and benefits from it - helps fund it, the future of this project would be much more robust and reassured.

Brahmins are the ones who learn and practice Vedas, holy rituals etc..ok.. don't fire on Brahmins..you guys easily get seats in IITs etc.. because of reservation.. Brahmins don't have that opportunity..they have to work hard..and provide for their family.. while you guys enjoy government privileges... Brahmins may be are upper caste but definitely low in the Indian economy..there are many poor Brahmins if you notice..

There is no reservation in IIT. bcos of this entire IIT has only upper caste students and professors. They have not let the so called art form outside their clout.

You bramins only got education upto British arrival, after that only other community people enter into the school or college, so many generations before you are in the education field. Then how other people can compete with you. All community have reservation OC, EWS in OC,BC and MBC,SC ST. moreover agriculture and other industries which are hard working you won't do but in temple what is hard work.

@@harshtyagi3499 reservation should be followed in IITs but they are not, there are lots of cases of harrasment towards lower caste students and faculties just google it you would be amazed. IITs and IIMs are Brahmin strong holds in India. You should do your research before asking others to check their facts.

Mrinalini Sarabhai is not brahmin. She is a Kerala nair. Her sister is captain Lakshmi Sehgal.

@@dpkbalaji If mother is Nair, she is Nair because Kerala society follows Matrilineal system. Many Nairs have Namboodiri father, but Brahmins have never accepted them. If you want to own up such people, it is your choice. It is like Rahul Gandhi claiming that he is a Brahmin. His family doesn't acknowledge their Parsi grandfather.

@@ganapatinaik7834 this is not a big issue. I or you cant own or define her identity. I simply said she is not a nair, She is intercaste. Only she can tell how she identifies herself.

The Tamil Brahmins in Tamil Nadu should be protected. The Tamil Brahmins have given a great name, reputation and success to the Tamil community all over the World. If you see the European Community 50 years ago they looked down upon the Indian communities, now because of education, economy and cleanliness they have great reputation for the educated Indian Community. Same as the Tamil Brahmins those days were well educated, very clean and successful caste in Tamil Nadu. Where as the other Tamil caste were mostly illiterate and dirty. 50 years later now most of the Tamil caste have taken over the Brahmins. See for example the Nadars and Chettiars are better business people than the Brahmins and the Nadars are more educated than the Brahmins. Places like Kanyakumari District, Tinnelveli, Tutucorin and Trivandrum the Nadar community have overtaken the Tamil Brahmins in Education and Business. Now I totally believe the Tamil Brahmins should be protected by the Tamil community. Dravida kalagam using the name Tamil Brahmins and taken over all the Ministerial positions in Tamil Nadu. I will be happy if the Tamil Brahmin have that position to some one from outside Tamil Nadu has taken these top positions. Now time for the ignorant Tamils to open their eyes and bring our Tamil Brahmin brothers back to Tamil Nadu.

We should acknowledge that a system of inequality and casteism is why non-brahmins were kept 'dirty and illiterate'. Please, apart from a SMALL minority, every tambram wants lower castes to be educated and thrive. This is true dharma. We are not above anyone else for any reason. That being said, there is a willful denigration of Brahmins and using brahmins as a proxy to attack Hinduism. Ex: I was on a post where a person claimed they were a dalit and they had left because of caste oppression and then asked why the dalit writer of that article was 'practicing the faith of her oppressor'....as if dalits aren't Hindus themselves and as if this religion and their traditions don't belong to them as equally as they do to every upper caste. They have just as much right to this faith and to follow their own unique traditions as anyone

endangered species. Patting an Indian man on the back to see whether he is wearing a "sacred thread" worn by some Brahmins, the highest-ranked caste. (This gesture is sometimes referred to as the "Tam-Bram pat," in reference to Tamil-speaking Brahmins.) Washington Post; Philadelphia Enquirer

There is no caste system in sanatana dharma. What the hell you guys are aruging about. Go watch sadhguru's video. Don't spread pure non sense in the name of caste system. I repeat again sanatana dharma has no caste system. You birth is defined by your karma not by your caste.
